  • I love Alice. I got real serious about guitar after seeing these guys. However I have to give the original band their propers. The stage show did take over the music. I think the band was at the prime right here. Just great rock and roll, and limited theatrics. I pretty much gave up on Alice after Lace And Whiskey.

  • @GonzoGuyy You made a mistake - listen to Special Forces, Dada and The Last Temptation. All great albums. Or Brutal Planet and Dragontown.

  • @Eliskoopa Good albums they may be.In my humble opinion no one suited Alice Cooper the singer, as Alice Cooper the band did. I have seen Alice a few times without the original band. It just didn't work for me. To be quite frank though the new "original" lineup doesn't work for me either. Steve Hunter, while a very talented musician, does not do justice to Glen's riffs. He's way to slick, fast, and improvises too much. I mean he is supposed to be playing Glen's stuff, right?

  • @GonzoGuyy I agree, the original line-up was the best and their albums are all great. It's sad they had to part ways. But I like almost all AC albums.

  • @Eliskoopa As I have said, I have seen Alice a few times since the break up. I don't really like his music so much these days. It's your right to like whatever albums of his you choose to like. I just kinda got bored with "concept" albums and the mega stage shows around Go To Hell/Lace And Whiskey....

  • and that's a really good slideshow.

  • Could this be even better than the studio version? I don't know, but it's at least as good. Thanks for this!

  • Love it!.... To death!

  • One of the baddest, with 2 d's?? Most sought after type of music before and after its time...So intricate with changes, melodies, and mayhem, with no conscience...I didn't gradu8!!!

  • i havent heard this song in so many years thank you so much for posting it.

  • this song is more appropriate today than in 71.. its coming

  • Is this from a gig? Or from the Pontiac farmhouse rehearsals?

  • Thi song works great as an intro for Ballad of Dwight Fry in the Love it to Death album, but it also works great on its own. Thanks for putting this song to youtube.

  • the fact that alice cooper can take a subject that terrified me for most of my childhood and make it an amazing song is pretty sweet.

  • Alice Cooper Kicks some serious ass!

Anyone who says otherwise is a LIER!!

repost this coment if you agree

  • Dan Sartain does a damn fine cover of this.

This my first time hearing the original, not sure which one i prefer.

  • I've always liked this song. I think I liked the piano better in the studio version but the electric keyboard is cool too...sort of gives it a psychedelic touch even though it's not supposed to be a psychedelic song. One thing I noticed....was some of the guitar parts were missing as opposed to the studio version....does Michael Bruce also play keyboards?

  • Michael Bruce does play keyboards as well as guitar.

  • best video on youtube great job

  • a curious thing... this song was written by cooper... the only that cooper composed lyrics and music completely.

  • @slowckek

am pretty sure this song was written by ther drummer, Neil Smith

  • You're thinking of 'Hallowed Be My Name'....'Second Coming' was group-written.

  • maybe my favorite alice song!

  • Alice Cooper ROCKS!

  • Thanks. this is excellant. good collage too.

  • Brilliant recording, such a stunning version, whats the deal with cutting it off before the end?

  • I like the organ better than the piano used in the studio version.... It reflects the song better.

  • Great post, many thanks! This song downright haunts me, there are days at a time when this song is going through my head, definitely one of the Coop's best! Had a nice little conversation with him one time, helluva nice guy.

  • i like this version better its rawer - that band was a force to be rekon with so raw , loose tight , heavy and goofy at the same time

  • love it ... love the studio version .. but it's great with this

  • aaallliicccceeee cccoooooooooooopppppeeerrr

man this IS the best album ever!!!!

    well this and killer
