Excellent playing, Grant... I would expect no less from you. This is burning me up.... what is the name of this tune? Sounds so familiar, yet I can't seem to place it....
He is a great sax player for sure. I hear a LOT of Sonny Rollins. Some licks are direct quotes. Not that I have a problem with players that sound like other players. But he really sounds like Sonny....
Never heard this guy before but I sure dig his big sound and concept...not the same chromatic nonsense that everyone is in to...much more towards Sonny Rollin's...hard swingin and tying it all together melodically and rythmnically...yeh!
Hey Grant. This is your cousin Jamie. I love to hear you play. My dad said we could go up to New York when you were playing sometime...but i don't really know the details so...ya...awesome jazz.
Grant if you're reading this, I saw you with Joe Magnarelli at Fat Cat last month while I was in town and you were amazing there just like you are amazing on this video. I hope to be fortunate enough to play with you one day.
Joe is AMAZING!!! I have an old lesson tape of him with my old teacher from the mid 80s or 90s and he is phenomenal on that. Grant, I have to give it to you--you are really amazing! I have to check you guys out live. Thanks for posting!
Very nice Grant. I've heard you here in New York before and you have always sounded great. Robust tone and attack that reminds me pre-"The Bridge" Sonny Rollins. Is that Joe Cohn on guitar?
Whoa.....Joe is rippin' it.
