  • Sick spin @ 0:52 seconds.

  • Hi Steve, We're planning on visiting Detroit this coming January and was wondering if you have a dance class there and if so, on what days. I really like your technique.

  • Everybody seems to have an opinion on what is and what isn't Steppin'. I'll leave that to the experts. But, every time I see a video of folks winning a "Chicago Style Step" contest, the winning couple is executing figures from just about every known social dance (salsa, tango, hustle, swing, etc...) EXCEPT what everyone seems to agree is "Chicago Style Step". What's up with that?

  • I know what you mean. Gr8 observation. There should be standard definitions for Urban Ballroom dances. Nevertheless, in general, performance moves aren't necesarily dance specific.. the footwork, one main element of each dance, can't be counted in it. For instance, no dance style "owns" spins. Honestly though, I love older music & older steppin,' but I have to admit that change is inevitable. It's not good or bad, it's just is. Dance styles may always be seen as getting better or getting worse.

  • I'm From Chicago and haven seen some of the best steppers and this guy was HOT!!

  • Thanx for the love. When I see the video it seems so long ago (2 years is a long time, and some of the clips in the vid is from further away than that..). I've grown since then, and my ideas about the dance and dance culture in general has evolved. Nevertheless, if you see me somewhere, make sure to say "What's Up." :-)

  • I like the steppin of the years gone by, the music back then made the dancing more tight to me. my cuz Bo Bo Crockett I hear was one of the best in his time in Chi town.

  • I understand what you mean.... the music from the past itself in comparison to today's music seems to be drastically different. When the music is tight and full of soul, a person can authentically be inspired by the artistry.

  • I'm sorry. I'm not trying to take anything away from dude, but I'm not at all impressed. I've seen and danced with the best of the best and this is not where it's at. Anyone can dip and put someone into turns, but you gotta look at the feet. These 6 contest wins, were any of them in Chicago? Was he up against any heavy hitters? More than likely no. Take home a title from a reputable contest in Chicago and then have something to talk about.

  • I'm lovin it and I'm from the D. not sure if you already have or not. Perhaps you want to upload videos on the net and make them pay per view or each download. Showing step by step each move. Just a thought!!! Keep doing your thang. Kulada
