  • wow... it si actually a great dance.. whats wrong kung pagsamahin ang ifugao belt sa traditional costume ng kalinga... buti nga yun eh. sign of unity..lols

i just noticed na most claimed to be igorot dances are being criticized by kapwa igortots din...and i guess there is nothing wrong kung modified na ung TRADITIONAL na sayaw natin, kasi mismong sa BAGUIO CITY, lahat siguro ng presentation nila sa PANANGBenga, modified na... buti nga at di pa nawawala nga gongs....

let's just enjoy it ano ba

  • at sa MUSIC.. hinid tama. ano to? STREET DANCE? SINULOG?

  • AT DAPAT LALAKI YUNG TUTULONG SA PAG AAYOS NG BANGA.. AT PAG BUBUHAT.. HINID YUNG BABAE.. NAKIKITA NA NAPAKAGAAN NG BANGA NYO... PAPERMACHE O FIBER? .....

  • the costume and the background song was great..two thumbs up for you guys

  • who are the performers? Does Ifugao people really have a Banga Dance?

No offense sa performers 'coz its a great performance but some things are just not right....

  • Some Igorots may react to the altered style of this dance. I am an Igorot myself raised from the remote village of the Mountain Province. Every region in the Mountain province has their own style of dance, colours and the like. This is theatre... I like your interpretation of the dance, I enjoyed watching it, the dancers are graceful, the colours are beautiful... Ang tanong, sino kaya ang makikinabang nito?

  • just save dance ...

  • I'm sorry, do you mind elaborating on your comment?

  • we are not against your group....but, u have to think the right clothing, steps, and etc....kasi hindi niyo alam...sinisira niyo ang kultura at tradition ng sayaw...better think of! research first before u execute the dance oK?

  • Yes, we realize the mix of tribal wear in our costumes and apologize for that. And yes, we do do our research but we also theatricalize it, so it is not true to TRADITIONAL as some would like. But for the Canadians and worldwide, it is entertainment and does give them a taste of our diverse culture. This is our style - if you saw videos of the other Filipino-Canadian groups, you'd probably scold them too. Thanks for your support.

  • I don't think you did a research. If ever with whom? Have you tried to consult someone from the cordillera's. How come you were not advised of the proper wearing of the costumes, how come you never knew when and on what occasion they are supposed to be worn? How come you mixed up steps, How could you afford to turn a respected tradition into an entertainment and theatricalize it as you said just to please canadians. How about the feelings of your igorot brothers and sisters?

  • hahaha...ocge cge....anu bang tulong gusto mo?

  • the dance. This is entertainment and gives the audience (many of whom i assume have never even heard of the dance) a little taste of the culture. Who would perform this dance perfecty according to "tradition" and better yet what non Banga dancer would care. I think they did a great job. Could you put on a better performance culture 92? If so then show us how it is done.

  • this dance is from the Kalinga tribe... the belts used were from the Ifugao tribe...

  • YAh....this dance came from the kalinga folks...and ur using ifugao skirts....

  • ang galing na man

  • sarap turuan ng mga perkasyunista niyo. nagmukang sinulog ang sayaw na ito sa tunog.

  • A better term would be Cordillera dance.
