I just don't get why almost every alien civilization in Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis can speak perfect English, but no aliens so far in this series can. When those blue aliens sent that one word English message to the Destiny, everyone was so surprised they spoke English even though every civilization they've encountered so far speak English.

@xFox1028 Actually Eli says "That's not a translation." but yes the Blue Aliens probably did learn English from Rush's mind, but If I may just throw in randomly here, it doesn't look like to me that they are even capable of speaking English. But hey we shall wait and find out.

@94damo it is tardis, not tartus. and if you really want to get technical about it, there are plenty of scenes depicting aliens where the tardis is millions, if not billions of years and light years away, and the doctor has never even met the aliens in question yet, so there's a problem with your little theory.

No series is ever "perfect" in its first season.... this is where SGU can make or break itself for me. I have high hopes, and SG-1, SG-A set the bar very high! Can SGU make it, or will it fall short? We'll found out soon enough I guess :)

there is no real end. i think it's pity! this new show is boring, it's not half as good as sg-1.

1:35 did he say that there could be lives at stake back on Earth? That must mean they find some way of getting back to Earth or some aliens have a technology like the wormhole drive that can get them to Earth really quickly. Either way, Earth's defenses are extremely robust. They have several 304's armed with asgard beams as well as the drone weapon in Antarctica). I would like to see an alien race with shields that render drone weapons and asgard beams useless.

@Generalkidd I don't think the drone weapon works anymore. They moved the control chair to Area 51 and it got taken out I think by the wraith in the SGA final.

Maybe they can use the chair from Atlantis to control the drones or perhaps they might be able to figure out a way to interface with the drones like McKay did in an earlier episode. Even without the drone weapon, all the asgard beam weapons on the 304's are more than enough to defend Earth.

@Generalkidd earth drone chair is gone however as far as we know atlantis made it to earth chronologicly some shortly after sgu began. because oddessy was already out at icarus when the wraith made it to earth. thus any and all drones withing rang (or the planet could theoreticly be used by the atlantis chair) now all of this assume that while sgu was going the atlantis arc post finale. has not seen atlantis once again leave earth for pagasus. if that makes sense.

@jackass123455 Actually SGU takes place after the end of Stargate Atlantis. The Oddysey wasn't at Icarus Base when it was attacked. The Hammond was the ship at Icarus Base. It's speculated that the Oddysey was on a mission to look for Icarus Base during the attack on Earth by the Wraith.

Oh my gosh... HUGE Stargate fan here... I can't wait for the new season! Great trailer. I think those who abandoned the show in its first season will be proven wrong in season two. Better writing, better acting, better everything! And an incredible new story arc! I just read that Hewlett and Picardo from SGA will be making appearances this season! Woo hoo!

@JNugent74 Those who abandoned the show will return only because there will be more action and adventure in season 2. Plus more aliens and humor. Its not about being proved wrong, its about being proved right. That you need more action and adventure for SGU succeed. Not boring drama that takes up the whole show.
