The best thing we can do for the environment would be to have a flat tax, close the fed/state bureaucracy and go back to being a free capitalist country. The worst environmental disaster in history was America becoming a socialist state in the 60's.
@foxyd3 - yep, smog like nowhere else on earth. And with their program of building nuclear power stations, this might reduce. But remember, they are opening a new coal fired power station every week. To reduce our CO2 footprint to the targets suggested by green groups, we will need to go back to a way of life before the industrial revolution. This means no large scale manufacturing, no mass transit like cars, trucks or airplanes. Unless we go totally nuke, this means strict power rationing.
these alarmist arseholes fist called it global warming that's great in 1998 when that was a hot year but its been cooling ever since so they said oh fuck what we do lets call it climate change no one can argue with that the climate is always changing as for warming we just keep saying its the hottest year since bullshit just to keep gullible fuckwits scared so now when there's heat wave its not summer any more its climate change or a flood its climate change it all just really piss me off !!!
@russf nice mix of metaphors there but I note you mention the Night of the Long Knives. This might be more apt than you know because it refers to the Nazi purge of it's own supporters. And you know, every time you read about extremist comments, about restricting freedom of speech, censorship of the media and suspending voting,it's from warmists trying to stifle debate on their cult of AGW. I also note you demand I identify myself in my reply but you still hide behind a screen name....
@Ohhmydreamgreen if AGW is real, the increase in CO2 will feed the trees. This will increase their output of O2 so, there will be more oxygen in the atmosphere. Your comment goes to the extremist cry "try and breath in a room full of CO2" which is rubbish! Coldest start to summer in Canberra for 48 years. But, since you are a warmist it's only the weather right? Had it been the hottest, you would point to the global warming but, it's only the weather....
I'm so sick of people saying global warming is a scam! What don't you understand? Aren't there enough evidence for you, or do you prefer losing your own home before you take notice? And let's say it isn't true, whould it hurt to make a change and get a cleaner earth? I don't get your problem, and it's just awfull reading some of these comments.. I honestly believe everybody dening it are eather afraid or just to stuck up to care about the rest living on this planet...
Here in Canberra, it has been almost the coldest start to summer since 1939. But seeing as it's cold, it must be the weather. If it was hot, it would be global warming. Alarmists always blame heat waves as AGW but explain away cold events as "weather". It is a scam, a wealth distribution device that will do nothing to stop warming. Durban means cutting CO2 back to pre-industrial levels. Say good bye to the internet, mobile phones and modern life and hello the stone age.
@snookums01 It's actually sad to read the last part of your comment... I can't believe people say things like "imagine life without internet"... imagine a world without breathable air...
you alarmist wankers blame everything on global warming that's one of the reasons i woke up and seriously looked at global warming and all that hype and i think its bullshit from top to bottom
Pfffffffft, long as it's not me :) I mean com'n, it's a hell of a lot easier to just pollute and patch the holes it makes than to not pollute, because the holes patch themselves up, 1500 dead, means 1500 less consumers :/ see what I did there.... logic......

Massive protest at White House against Alberta tar sands pipeline
. A protest at the White House against a pipeline from the Alberta tar sands is emerging as the biggest green civil disobedience campaign in a generation, organisers said.
500mil yrs ago there was 4% less energy from the sun reaching the planet, the planet's landmasses were in a completely different configuration, and thus the ocean currents and climate were completely different. Inconvenient how scientists can explain these things isn't it?
There is a quick simple solution to global warming and climate change. It is called Muon Catalysed Fusion. As worked on Star Scientific. NO CO2. NO Greenhouse Gases. NO Toxic Waste. The source is dueterium from the World's Oceans - virtually limitless. It is cheap to produce. WE NEED IT NOW. See the website "Star Scientific Limited", Blog "The Big Picture by Andrew Horvath", Youtube video - "In the Footsteps of Fusion"
1.Weather is far to complex, thus impossible for us to make long term predictions.(even the short term predictions are often wrong)
2.Even if we are causing the global warming, why spend millions to prevent it? we could spend those money to be prepared for it because we now change will come even if we do nothing wrong - it seems more reasonable to me.
3.If it will happen, i can`t agree with IPCC on the consequences. they are simply beyond logic and come in contradiction with nr.1
It was foolish to put that in this video. We are ALL carbon polluters. We need to work together to overcome the challenges of carbon dioxide pollution. We can do it because many of the world's most powerful businesses want to do it. These include GM, BP, Siemens, Honeywell, Shell, GE, Ford, Dow Chemical, and Chrysler.
us-cap(dot)org
We don't need to hurt the economy in order to protect the environment.
Global Warming is extremely misleading. Yes, the Earth is warming up. But it's nothing to be scared off. Their have been around 5 periods in the last 3000 years when the Earth's temperature have been higher than it has been now. I assure everyone, We are not going to experience a Natural Crisis because of Global Warming. Most of the CO2 comes from Sea life organisms, Not us. In fact, The increase in CO2 has caused more plant life to grow in the oceans and the Rainforests.
500 million years ago CO2 levels were 20x higher than todays CO2 levels. And was there a run away greenhouse effect? HELL NO! We also know from ancient proxy data there were Ice Ages where the CO2 levels were higher than today. The CO2 run away greenhouse effect hypothesis has already been disproven by real world evidence. But we are suppose to ignore this evidence and look at...computer models???!!! LOL....
The ice caps are not melting, the polar bears are not drowning, the temperatures are not rising. An Ice Age is what people should be worrying about. Global warming is a fraud that I got sucked into. Its completely false. Government payed off scientists with TONS of research funds to make this crap up so they can Tax the stuff you breathe out, and what plants breathe in. CO2! Watch for the Carbon Tax.
can't go by temperature - it fluctates a lot on it's own. On the other hand, extreme weather is NOT part of climatic patterns which tend remain fairly stable.
come on .guys , u cant just STOP global warming.. .. it will continue until the end of the world... u cant even stop all people from using cars in a small town for a day
And what is this all ab out the Sun causing the warming? If it was the Sun the mesosphere and lower thermosphere would be warming at much the same rate as the troposphere. however they are cooling while the troposphere is warming. We have been measuring solar input via satellites for decades as well. And there is more warming at night than during the day. These indicate the Sun is not responsible for the current warming.
So before global warming the earth never had floods, cyclones, earthquakes, droughts. I think the warmists need to have a look at the climate history of the earth because there has not been 1 weather pattern thats happened recently that has not happened before, long before man invented the motor car.
@kadaitcha72 Global warming deals with trends not single point occurrences. More floods are to be expected as atmospheric moisture and rainfall increases. Hurricanes are expected to become more intense as wind speeds are driven by sea surface temperatures but less hurricanes are expected to form due to the increased wind shear. You are creating a strawman argument.
@WaxItYourself Your wrong again there was far worse floods in the 1800's,far worse hurricanes in the early 1900's.these current trends are no different to what the earth has been experiencing for 1000's of years.google:floods, droughts, hurricanes, temp records, rain, wind & you'll find all these events have been happening for 1000's of years long before man invented the light globe.
@kadaitcha72 Do you understand the word 'trend'? Apparently you do not. Just because there were bad droughts or floods or hurricanes in the past does not mean that the TREND of the strength of hurricanes isn't increasing. You are saying "well since there was a major flood here at this time so many years ago that means global warming is false." We are talking about TRENDS. That is what global warming deals with.
@WaxItYourself well you better learn some more on the earths history because the TREND looks like this.8 of the worlds strongest hurricanes were between 1886 & 1969. how much carbon did man emit then??? surely with hurricanes getting stronger we would have more than 2 in the top 10 strongest in the last 42 years considering man is heating the earth with carbon emissions.yes i understand the word trend & 2 strong hurricanes in the last 42 years is not a trend.
@WaxItYourself yes i do understand the word trend & the current trend is no different to the trends in the 1800's.Tell me how the climate is different now to way before man invented the 1st motor car???
@kadaitcha72 Hadley Cell expansion, Tropospheric warming, glacial melt, etc... You can't be serious can you? Every published climate scientists, even those who people classify as 'skeptics' acknowledge that the planet is warming and the climate is reacting to that warming.
@WaxItYourself 19,000 respected scientists dismiss the theory that climate change is caused by man.I can't believe it some of you warmist nuts even blame climate change for the Japanese earthquake.Just proves how dumb some people are including your warmist scientists.
@kadaitcha72 I think you mean over 30,000 and what you are talking about is the OISM Project, a scam perpetrated by a denier. Earthquakes are not caused by global warming. I have an idea. Instead of listening to the media, blogs or forums how about instead you read the science? You may even learn what the word trend means.
@WaxItYourself read the science hahaha you mean read predictions that are being proved WRONG time & time again. As for trends the trends are no different to any other trends 300 years ago.Learn the earths climate history & then you'll realise there are no current trends.
@kadaitcha72 Umm.. no.... i mean read the science. Pay close attention to how hurricanes are fed, how they form, what an increase in atmospheric water vapour does to precipitation, and so on. and your claim that there are no trends is ludicrous. there are always trends in everything. Again, you have no idea what on earth you are talking about but continue to leave idiotic and unsubstantiated claims on youtube.
The end is near. The industrial age has done more harm than good. And we are in a whirlpool of destruction with our generation now approaching its center. Nothing will stop this momentum because those who oversee the rise and fall of nations have only increased their stranglehold over our lives. We elect officials to prevent this. They failed! We give to research. They failed! We look to religion. They failed! Why? The 10 Commandments are the laws of Utopia; and man avoids them like the plague.
I am so sick of this GW BS! CO2 is NOT toxic, not a pollutant. We exhale it, plants breath it. For GOD SAKE ASSHOLES!! When the Sun goes down what happens to the temperature? It drops douchbags! Just a small tilt in the Earth's Axis resulting in a minute change in the distance from the sun causes seasonal temperature change. Seems to me that the goddamn SUN is the MAJOR deciding factor in the Earth's temperature. Is it that hard to grasp you worry wart fucking bastards?
You don't seem to understand that the sun has actually been COOLING since the 1960's or so. You can't blame it for global warming. (By the way, you're wrong when you claim that seasonal variations in temperature are caused by a change in distance from the Sun. It's the angle of incidence, not distance. Since you don't understand even the most basic science, why should we listen to your opinion on global warming? Your ignorance is typical of many climate change skeptics.)
@smcnallen You are a fucking idiot. .The angle of incidence CHANGES DISTANCE from the land mass to the SUN (dipshit), and we just had the biggest solar flare in years a couple weeks ago, and ALL the planets are going through warming.
After the last polar bear, being fed up to be misused as an evidence for 'man-made climate change', has commited suicide and passed away with a warm 'F... you!', we might begin to realize who benefits from 'c c'!
And from the destruction of environement, animals, people by flattening rainforests, the jewels of the Earth, for 'bio' = killer fuel!
Amount of CO2 in the atmosphere: 0,04 %, that relates to a fart in a huuuge sky scraper!
stop chopping trees down and start planting for a long time, we could make this a garden of eden once again if we change our motivations in life and give up the love of money and out of control government
@RicardoClaro hooray for retards who do not understand sarcasm even when it is indicated in the paragraph! Oh and if you are wondering, Im not being sarcastic when Im calling you retarded... thought I'd point that out clearly.
"there is plenty of evidence showing all of the earth was warmer 1000 years ago than now." Still no source after being asked twice. Is it hard to find or are you lazy? Or maybe you're full of it. Tree ring dendrochronology can be difficult to read accurately because width will eventually decline even as temperatures rise and so it isn't always used. There are still plenty of other ways to build reconstructions that are highly reliable, as have been mentioned already.
All I can say, is, way to go. And, we will keep putting that message out there until, OOPS, sorry, earth just overheated and there is no more !!!!!
Now, what was that again? Did you say you wanted to take the chance?
Isn't that a little like saying to your significant other, "it's ok, don't need condoms anymore, we can trust that there won't be an unwanted pregnancy. Don't think we need to worry about HIV either." Now, do you want to take that chance. NO, didn't think so.
not to make light of climate change, but there are a few places where positives happened. Here in Ontario, Canada we had record crop production because of the warmer wetter weather. This warmer wetter weather has been occuring for the last few years. Nature here was also more productive, both the trees and the insects that eat them where at new record levels.
You may as well be explaining evolution to creationist. Battling ignorance and denialism on a YT comments board is almost futile. You'll be going back and forth for ages until you get sick of it and they claim they've "won" because you can't respond to bull as fast as they can spit it.
@deprofundis442 "You may as well be explaining evolution to creationist." I know what you mean, but I don't like leaving scientific fraud unchallenged. If your aim is not to win them over but rather to dismantle their arguments & hold up the pieces to ridicule, it can be a fun exercise.
I do this for amusement, but it's not everone's cup of tea.
Very nice film, but why do you assume that CO2 is causing global warming? All the other planets are warming up as well. Off course, when you talk about CO2 and pollution you're absolutely right. Thanks.
@BelindaSusan "All the other planets are warming up as well" Only the other planets are not all warming. This is just a little bit on nonsense dreamt up by the deniers.
People, Global Warming has officially been disproven. Al Gore, the same person who thinks he invented the internet, also came up with the global warming. Its a scam, just like *cough* religion *cough*
@AoStheclan are u off your rocker its not disproving its october and its 70 degrees outside and i live in massachusetts its never this warm around this time global warming IS REAL PEOPLE OPEN YOUR EYES! or is it gonnna take that fact that its gonna kill people to wake everyone up!
@AoStheclan "Global Warming has officially been disproven" This is groundbreaking stuff! Can you please reference the peer reviewed research that has overturned the theory.
@cristop5 Groundbreaking? LOL! How about doing a little self-research before freaking out, man. "Global Warming," as you all like to call it has been going on ever since the Earth started hosting life. Every million years-or-so, the Earth goes through a period of intense cold (ice age.) Then the Earth experiances a period of favorable temperature and climate. The Earth is just beginning to experiance another Ice age in about 1,000,000 years or so, so its expieriancing the pre-change.
LOL The Global Warming Conspiracy theorists still don't give up. Global Warming has been debunked, deal with it already.
Even if it was true, any of our governments "solutions" are just scams like cap and trade and the carbon exchange. The people that stand to make a lot of money off of these scams are pushing this ridiculous conspiracy theory.
This video makes me laugh. There have always been floods, hurricanes, storms, ect. It was an iceberg that sunk the Titanic... RT reported Russia is predicted to have the coldest winter in 1000 years. Citing disasters on a local scale (which have happened throughout ALL of earth's history) and attributing these to a global scale without any links is psychosis.
@sputnik323 "Citing disasters on a local scale.." But surely it's OK to do that if you're trying to debunk AGW isn't it? For example last winter in the US & UK was very cold, so surely it's OK to cite that as evidence the whole world is cooling.
Of course if you're a stickler you could cite global mean surface temperatures, which are the warmest they've been in recorded history.
@cristop5 I have no idea how you could think from my post that I would think it would be ok to do that on either side of the debate -unless you are trying to create an image of any disagreement means those people are stupid to make your side look better. you could use global mean surface temperature, which has many inherent flaws - such as 1 bad station location and 2 surface doesn't account for temperature in other areas of the atmosphere. Why not use satellite data which seem most accurate?
@sputnik323 "I have no idea how you could think from my post..." Sorry if I attributed too much dishonesty to you. I am used to people on the skeptic/denier side not argueing in good faith, and readily embracing logical fallacies when it suits them.
"Why not use satellite data which seem most accurate?" Sure, if you want to measure the lower troposphere. That's warmed by about 0.46C since 1979. The SURFACE air temps have risen by 0.58C (NASA ) or 0.65C (CRU) over the same period.
@cristop5 No offense taken, people on both sides seem to embrace logical fallacies when it suits them. I will readily admit that +CO2 = warming, and man is producing lots of CO2. This is something to be concerned about. However, I find evidence lacking of a major catastrophe, or that CO2 is a *major* climate driver. Models which do not include all possible - and + feedbacks (and we dont know all of them) are not going to accurately project far into the future to a system which is chaotic.
@cristop5 Most proponents/alarmists do not like to look at satellite data because there hasn't been statistically significant warming since 1995 (half of the 30 year period). +-2.0C warming in 100 years is within natural rates in earth's history.
@sputnik323 From w ww.climatescience.gov/Library/sap/sap1-1/finalreport/sap1-1-final-execsum.pdf
Surface temps: "Global-average temperature increased at a rate of about 0.12ºC per decade since 1958, & about 0.16ºC per decade since 1979"
Troposphere: "Global-average tropospheric temperature increased at a rate of about 0.14ºC per decade since 1958 according to the two radiosonde data sets. Since 1979, temperature increased by 0.10ºC to 0.20ºC per decade.
@sputnik323 "+-2.0C warming in 100 years is within natural rates in earth's history." What does "natural" mean?
Sure the earth has been hotter, but not within the history of human civilization. Human settlement patterns around the world are largely determined by climate. Climate change means more than just an increase in temperatures, it also means shifting rainfall patterns, rising sea levels etc. So people will have to do more than just turn up their ACs. Many will have to move, or die.
@cristop5 Natural meaning within the cyclic rates before known human civilization.
Human settlement patters are more determined by water availability (rivers) than by climate. There are people living in Europe which is much colder than Brazil, yet people survive. Shifting rainfall patterns, and rising sea levels are always a constant threat (Hurricane Catrina?) any predictions of doom are based on speculation and fear. I have never seen any evidence of impending catastrophe... You have some?
@sputnik323 "Natural meaning within the cyclic rates before known human civilization"
Well that means todays temperatures are outside that range. Unless you can show me some research (i.e. a scientific paper) that shows it was warmer in the past.
"Human settlement patters are more determined by water availability (rivers) than by climate."
They are determined by many things. But food production is MOSTLY determined by rainfall and evaporation, though irrigation and soil fertility also factor.
@sputnik323 "never seen any evidence of impending catastrophe."
You won't see any evidence as long as you ignore ocean acidification, warming oceans, a record rate of species extinctions, an increase in the frequency of extreme weather events, desertification, rising sea levels, global glacial retreat, increasing temperatures, and positive CO2 temperature feedback mechanisms.
Precisely when mankind needs to sit up & take notice, you're choosing denialism & political idiocy ahead of science.
@cristop5 "choosing denialism & political idiocy" --- You almost had me and tricked me to thinking you were a rational person. Well since this is the 2nd time you have implied I am a denier, I will follow your lead and let this discussion devolve into what you are only really capable of: Labeling and Ad Hominem fallacies. So here goes -Alarmist! ECO Nut! FACIST! Pinko COMMIE! Retard! -wow isn't this more enlightening than actually giving arguments and having a rational discussion? *sarcasm*
@sputnik323 Well it seems you're not concerned about climate change, ocean acidification, rising sea levels etc because in spite of them you somehow don't see "any evidence of impending catastrophe."
So if you are not a denier who's "denying" these things are rmassive and worsening problems, then you must be unaware of them.
In that case you should do a bit of reading about them. I'd be happy to provide links to the literature.
@cristop5 Well it seems you're mostly concerned with making circular arguments and ad hominem fallacies rather than having a rational discussion. Each part of your so called "evidence" can be disputed. e.g. desertification: global rainfall is predicted to increase (this is by AGW proponents) as well the Sahara desert is shrinking due to vegetation. Predictions not = evidence. I dont try to reason with unreasonable people- I can find someone willing to charge by the hour if you want that.
1.There is nothing circular about my reasoning. Someone who cycles everywhere can be called a cyclist. Someone who talks a lot can be called talkative. Someone who denies the obvious facts that the atmosphere is warming, the ocean pH is falling etc or that these are problematic is a "denier".
There's no way around it.
2. "Each part of your... "evidence" can.." I never mentioned the Sahara or global rainfall. Can you dispute CO2 is a GHG & it's increasing, or that the earths warming?
@cristop5 1 here is where your reasoning becomes circular. In essence you state, 'global warming causes catastrophe, look at these catastrophes which are evidence that global warming causes catastrophe.' No you didn't bring up the Sahara or global rainfall, but you did bring up desertification without any evidence it is happening or even could happen.
2 I never disputed CO2 or warming, I have always been disputing the impending doom you are trying to prophecy instead of show evidence for.
@pmcgraw13 "31,000 scientists believe that temp affects CO2 levels, not the other way around. "
You are presumably talking about the Oregon Petition. Perhaps you think it was signed by 31,000 informed climatologists. If so you really should watch this:
It's all political. Have you studied United Nations Agenda 21 and how it's being implemented in the US? Search YouTube for "How your community is implementing AGENDA 21" The lady with long, white hair is a liberal speaking to a conservative group.
@m1aws "The Oceans are now shrinking, so the ph in turn will rise and kill off all the corals."
The oceans are rising due to thermal expansion and glacial melt. These haven't stopped. However water cycles between the land and sea, and there was a temporay fall in sea levels from March 2010 to March 2011 when heavy rains in Australia, South America etc shifted this balance. As this water makes its way back to the sea levels are rising. The long term trend hasn't inexplicably stopped.
I suggest to get some litmus paper and try it yourself. lol
I'm sick of this constant scare mongering. The sea is either up or down. Land moves, get over it. GIS shows sea droppping constantly over three years.
Half of S. America's forests are gone. Blame them. AUS is still wetter, and the Sahel, now Texas!
"I'm sick of this constant scare mongering." You don't like the news, so it can't be true.
"The sea is either up or down." Sea levels rose 20cm from 1870 to 2006 (academics.eckerd.edu/instructor/hastindw/MS1410-001_FA08/handouts/2008SLRSustain.pdf)
"GIS shows sea dropping constantly over three years." Reference please. It's UP by about 5cm since 1993 (sealevel.colorado.edu/content/2011rel2-global-mean-sea-level-time-series-seasonal-signals-retained).
@cristop5 Considering on the whole, the sea level has been rising since the Holocene. I should think so too! Pity about Nasa's lately climb down and GIS's erroneous three years of existence.
2006 is an old paper when referring to the past three years. Google:
@m1aws Given that you acknowledge a long term rise, it' would be silly for you to imagine this would magically reverse itself. And as it turned out it didn't. I found your link and looked at the graph. The drop from early 2010 to early 2011 is clear, and as expected there is a recovery in sea levels seen after March 2011. This is to be expected as floodwaters make their way to the sea. There is no drop over the last 3 years though. It rises from 2008-2010.
1. "Why silly .." Because you have no explanation why a long rise in sea levels would just go into reverse.
2. "..the cyclic one from the seasons!" If the recovery were seasonal, why doesn't it show up annualy? No. The 'missing' water can be seen here: ht tp://grace.jpl.nasa.g ov/
3. "I'd like to see earlier data" Here you go:ht tp://sealevel.colorado.ed u/ (And note the 2010-11 drop in global mean sea levels that still shows on the detrended chart when seasonal signals are removed!)
1. "All readings show seasonal variations, including CO2." What part of 'seasonal signals are removed' didn't you get?
2. "But they also expect the global mean sea level to begin climbing again. At least they are hopeful :)" The data already show sea levels are rising right now.
3. "..then more precipitation." So you think precipitation over land will increase year by year causing sea levels to drop. Got it.
@SomeLittleShoe the IPCC Working Group 1 Report, Chapter 6, Figure 6.10 and Box 6.4, pages 467-469 (shown at right) addresses this specifically. In essence, there is statistical evidence that the MWP was not warmer than the last 25 years (since 1980) -source _scholarsandrogues
Deniers keep repeating lies and never cite their sources.
there are peer review works from all over the world that show the world was warmer during the Medieval Warm Period than now. In fact it is common knowledge. If you want to you can look it up for yourself. Will you?
The IPCC report is replete with flaws. If you did not know that you have been living in an insulated world.
You can look up the flaws in the IPCC report. GlacierGate is a blatant one that has the head of the IPCC in hot water with people on both sides of this issue.
@SomeLittleShoe Sorry, but Climate Change deniers are notorious for claims of scientific backing that don't pan out. The ice, IS, in fact, melting. Your team is a bunch of notorious liars.
.Mann, Michael E., Mark A. Cane, Stephen E. Zebiak, Amy Clement, 2005: Volcanic and Solar Forcing of the Tropical Pacific over the Past 1000 Years. J. Climate, 18, 447–456.
@SomeLittleShoe "it was hotter on earth 1000 years ago. Geological data shows this"
Please provide a reference to the science behind this claim. By 'reference' I mean a published scientific paper, not a rumour from a blog. Because the research I've seen indicates the planet was not hotter 1000 years ago.
According to this paper some parts were hotter than now, while others were cooler. Have a look:
Yes tree rings, but also maximum latewood density (MXD), ice cores, speleothems, corals & sediments. Until we find those illusive instrumental measurements taken by medieval folk, I'm afraid we'll have to make do with these proxies.
But maybe you can supply a reference to the "geological data" that show it was hotter 1000 years ago than it is now. So please go ahead and show me the link.
If it was much warmer on Greenland 1000 years ago than now and it lasted for 350 years, while other parts of the earth were colder than now during that entire time then that is truly global climate disruption.
there is plenty of evidence showing all of the earth was warmer 1000 years ago than now. To not see it while seeing other evidence that is not reliable for temperature, like tree rings, is to be biased and to see what you want to see.
@1cupaT a better world....they just wanna use it as an excuse to tax you!...how can you take co2, its like saying il start taxing oxygen its a very reactive and harmful gas!?!?
pretty video.....but scientifically global warming is a myth! any scientist that has the appropriate qualification will tell you this. btw a biologist backing up global warming is as good as a 5 year old.....listen to the geologist the ones that actualy study the science. do your research!
Arguing about climate change is all about firstly understanding some simple facts about fossil fuels: They are cheap and at present readily available to cashed up explorers, they have a huge energy content to volume ratio, when reacted with oxygen they they release carbon dioxide as well as heaps of energy (awesome for moving huge amounts of stuff all over the planet), carbon dioxide absorbs infra-red radiation (heat) extremely well (this is a good thing - we would be living on a snowball plane
@boshier79 What if we run out of oil AND we are suffering the effects of global climate change. Imagine getting relief supplies to Pakistan without oil powered shipping. That's the future we must prepare for.
@Pangolinx1 Absolutely agreed..... This notion and others like it are very scary. There seems to be this emphasis on whether one believes the science of climate change or not!!! This arguement attracts all kinds of debate that avoids the real issue. What we can all agree on is the fact that oil will run out one day..... we must change our behaviours to reflect this fact...
No global warming since 1998, Obama's climate Tsar wants it called Global Temperature Disruption and the Bilderberg meetings next year (private world leaders + influencials summit) has global cooling on the agenda...
@caversmill Debunked. You can not prove Global Warming since 1998 to a 95% confidence interval the scientific definition for "statistically significant." You CAN prove that there is Global Warming to a 90% confidence interval.
That is NOT "no Global Warming." That is a scientist giving an accurate answer to a question designed to confuse the issue.
There HAS been significant losses to the Arctic Ice Cap since 1998 which is a good proxy for overall Global Warming. The ice didn't walk away.
@Pangolinx1 you'd think with a 95% accuracy rate, the scientists wouldn't have to change their data, but that's not what's happening in the real world! The truth of the matter is the scientists will only get paid and continue to be funded if they show evidence OF global warming. In Australia, their top climate scientist put together a report on AGW and ultimately said there is no concrete evidence - he was never asked to return!
Humans can NOT control everything around them. The Earth will do what it wants to do. Greenland used to be a very fertile growing zone. The Earth changes, get used to it. We as humans have jack and squat to do with the earth changing. The earth fixes itself, just look at the BP spill in the Gulf of Mexico for PROOF.
How many reputable Scientist have to say "Man Made Global Warming Is Fake" before you start believing the truth?
@Joell5678 Do you people have basements full of conservitards typing these lies? Could we ship them down to the Gulf and rub their faces in the oil muck killing the marshes. Please.
Seems they missed that this past winter we had some of the coldest months on record. Hmm ... I guess when you have an agenda, it is easy to create something like this.
Worlds worst heatwave Marble Bar Australia October 31 1923 - April 7 1924. 160 days above 37.8C (100F). Arctic sea ice extent was lower in 2007. The chunk that broke off the Petermann glacier was smaller than one which broke off in the sixties. Worst floods in decades. What caused them last time?
@shiftyd100 No, you don't get it. The response that many climate scientists make - "weather isn't climate" - is in defense to the assertion that global warming isn't real because it snowed somewhere.
Changing weather patterns is synonymous with climate change.
@quidproquo2004 That does not explain claiming one heatwave or an iceberg calving proves man made global warming. I know the fact it snowed somewhere doesn't disprove agw, I also know extreme weather events don't prove it. The climate is always changing. The global recorded temperature begins as we come out of the little ice age. Overall we've been warming for more than a century.

I also note you demand I identify myself in my reply but you still hide behind a screen name....

snookums01 2 months ago
@Ohhmydreamgreen if AGW is real, the increase in CO2 will feed the trees. This will increase their output of O2 so, there will be more oxygen in the atmosphere. Your comment goes to the extremist cry "try and breath in a room full of CO2" which is rubbish! Coldest start to summer in Canberra for 48 years. But, since you are a warmist it's only the weather right? Had it been the hottest, you would point to the global warming but, it's only the weather....

I honestly believe everybody dening it are eather afraid or just to stuck up to care about the rest living on this planet...
Ohhmydreamgreen 2 months ago
Here in Canberra, it has been almost the coldest start to summer since 1939. But seeing as it's cold, it must be the weather. If it was hot, it would be global warming. Alarmists always blame heat waves as AGW but explain away cold events as "weather". It is a scam, a wealth distribution device that will do nothing to stop warming. Durban means cutting CO2 back to pre-industrial levels. Say good bye to the internet, mobile phones and modern life and hello the stone age.

These indicate the Sun is not responsible for the current warming.

dartheradus 11 months ago
So before global warming the earth never had floods, cyclones, earthquakes, droughts. I think the warmists need to have a look at the climate history of the earth because there has not been 1 weather pattern thats happened recently that has not happened before, long before man invented the motor car.
kadaitcha72 1 year ago
@kadaitcha72 Global warming deals with trends not single point occurrences. More floods are to be expected as atmospheric moisture and rainfall increases. Hurricanes are expected to become more intense as wind speeds are driven by sea surface temperatures but less hurricanes are expected to form due to the increased wind shear. You are creating a strawman argument.
WaxItYourself 11 months ago
@WaxItYourself Your wrong again there was far worse floods in the 1800's,far worse hurricanes in the early 1900's.these current trends are no different to what the earth has been experiencing for 1000's of years.google:floods, droughts, hurricanes, temp records, rain, wind & you'll find all these events have been happening for 1000's of years long before man invented the light globe.
kadaitcha72 11 months ago
@kadaitcha72 Do you understand the word 'trend'? Apparently you do not. Just because there were bad droughts or floods or hurricanes in the past does not mean that the TREND of the strength of hurricanes isn't increasing. You are saying "well since there was a major flood here at this time so many years ago that means global warming is false." We are talking about TRENDS. That is what global warming deals with.
WaxItYourself 11 months ago
@WaxItYourself well you better learn some more on the earths history because the TREND looks like this.8 of the worlds strongest hurricanes were between 1886 & 1969. how much carbon did man emit then??? surely with hurricanes getting stronger we would have more than 2 in the top 10 strongest in the last 42 years considering man is heating the earth with carbon emissions.yes i understand the word trend & 2 strong hurricanes in the last 42 years is not a trend.
kadaitcha72 11 months ago
@kadaitcha72 And again, you do not understand the word 'trend'.
usgcrp.gov/usgcrp/links/hurricanes.htm
WaxItYourself 11 months ago

@kadaitcha72 Hadley Cell expansion, Tropospheric warming, glacial melt, etc... You can't be serious can you? Every published climate scientists, even those who people classify as 'skeptics' acknowledge that the planet is warming and the climate is reacting to that warming.
WaxItYourself 11 months ago
@WaxItYourself 19,000 respected scientists dismiss the theory that climate change is caused by man.I can't believe it some of you warmist nuts even blame climate change for the Japanese earthquake.Just proves how dumb some people are including your warmist scientists.
kadaitcha72 11 months ago
@kadaitcha72 I think you mean over 30,000 and what you are talking about is the OISM Project, a scam perpetrated by a denier. Earthquakes are not caused by global warming. I have an idea. Instead of listening to the media, blogs or forums how about instead you read the science? You may even learn what the word trend means.
WaxItYourself 11 months ago
@WaxItYourself read the science hahaha you mean read predictions that are being proved WRONG time & time again. As for trends the trends are no different to any other trends 300 years ago.Learn the earths climate history & then you'll realise there are no current trends.
kadaitcha72 11 months ago
@kadaitcha72 Umm.. no.... i mean read the science. Pay close attention to how hurricanes are fed, how they form, what an increase in atmospheric water vapour does to precipitation, and so on. and your claim that there are no trends is ludicrous. there are always trends in everything. Again, you have no idea what on earth you are talking about but continue to leave idiotic and unsubstantiated claims on youtube.
WaxItYourself 11 months ago

Is it that hard to grasp you worry wart fucking bastards?
generuffalo 1 year ago 2
@generuffalo
Your ignorance is typical of many climate change skeptics.)
smcnallen 1 year ago
@smcnallen You are a fucking idiot. .The angle of incidence CHANGES DISTANCE from the land mass to the SUN (dipshit), and we just had the biggest solar flare in years a couple weeks ago, and ALL the planets are going through warming.

Tree ring dendrochronology can be difficult to read accurately because width will eventually decline even as temperatures rise and so it isn't always used. There are still plenty of other ways to build reconstructions that are highly reliable, as have been mentioned already.

This video makes me laugh. There have always been floods, hurricanes, storms, ect. It was an iceberg that sunk the Titanic... RT reported Russia is predicted to have the coldest winter in 1000 years. Citing disasters on a local scale (which have happened throughout ALL of earth's history) and attributing these to a global scale without any links is psychosis.
sputnik323 1 year ago
@sputnik323 "Citing disasters on a local scale.." But surely it's OK to do that if you're trying to debunk AGW isn't it? For example last winter in the US & UK was very cold, so surely it's OK to cite that as evidence the whole world is cooling.
Of course if you're a stickler you could cite global mean surface temperatures, which are the warmest they've been in recorded history.
But that's such a bummer.
cristop5 1 year ago
@cristop5 I have no idea how you could think from my post that I would think it would be ok to do that on either side of the debate -unless you are trying to create an image of any disagreement means those people are stupid to make your side look better. you could use global mean surface temperature, which has many inherent flaws - such as 1 bad station location and 2 surface doesn't account for temperature in other areas of the atmosphere. Why not use satellite data which seem most accurate?
sputnik323 1 year ago
@sputnik323 "I have no idea how you could think from my post..." Sorry if I attributed too much dishonesty to you. I am used to people on the skeptic/denier side not argueing in good faith, and readily embracing logical fallacies when it suits them.
"Why not use satellite data which seem most accurate?" Sure, if you want to measure the lower troposphere. That's warmed by about 0.46C since 1979. The SURFACE air temps have risen by 0.58C (NASA ) or 0.65C (CRU) over the same period.
cristop5 1 year ago

Many will have to move, or die.
cristop5 1 year ago
@cristop5 Natural meaning within the cyclic rates before known human civilization.
Human settlement patters are more determined by water availability (rivers) than by climate. There are people living in Europe which is much colder than Brazil, yet people survive. Shifting rainfall patterns, and rising sea levels are always a constant threat (Hurricane Catrina?) any predictions of doom are based on speculation and fear. I have never seen any evidence of impending catastrophe... You have some?
sputnik323 1 year ago
@sputnik323 "Natural meaning within the cyclic rates before known human civilization"
Well that means todays temperatures are outside that range. Unless you can show me some research (i.e. a scientific paper) that shows it was warmer in the past.
"Human settlement patters are more determined by water availability (rivers) than by climate."
They are determined by many things. But food production is MOSTLY determined by rainfall and evaporation, though irrigation and soil fertility also factor.
cristop5 1 year ago
@sputnik323 "never seen any evidence of impending catastrophe."
You won't see any evidence as long as you ignore ocean acidification, warming oceans, a record rate of species extinctions, an increase in the frequency of extreme weather events, desertification, rising sea levels, global glacial retreat, increasing temperatures, and positive CO2 temperature feedback mechanisms.
Precisely when mankind needs to sit up & take notice, you're choosing denialism & political idiocy ahead of science.
cristop5 1 year ago
@cristop5 "choosing denialism & political idiocy" --- You almost had me and tricked me to thinking you were a rational person. Well since this is the 2nd time you have implied I am a denier, I will follow your lead and let this discussion devolve into what you are only really capable of: Labeling and Ad Hominem fallacies. So here goes -Alarmist! ECO Nut! FACIST! Pinko COMMIE! Retard! -wow isn't this more enlightening than actually giving arguments and having a rational discussion? *sarcasm*
sputnik323 1 year ago
@sputnik323 Well it seems you're not concerned about climate change, ocean acidification, rising sea levels etc because in spite of them you somehow don't see "any evidence of impending catastrophe."
So if you are not a denier who's "denying" these things are rmassive and worsening problems, then you must be unaware of them.
In that case you should do a bit of reading about them. I'd be happy to provide links to the literature.
cristop5 1 year ago
@cristop5 Well it seems you're mostly concerned with making circular arguments and ad hominem fallacies rather than having a rational discussion. Each part of your so called "evidence" can be disputed. e.g. desertification: global rainfall is predicted to increase (this is by AGW proponents) as well the Sahara desert is shrinking due to vegetation. Predictions not = evidence. I dont try to reason with unreasonable people- I can find someone willing to charge by the hour if you want that.
sputnik323 1 year ago
@sputnik323
Can you dispute CO2 is a GHG & it's increasing, or that the earths warming?
cristop5 1 year ago 8
@cristop5 1 here is where your reasoning becomes circular. In essence you state, 'global warming causes catastrophe, look at these catastrophes which are evidence that global warming causes catastrophe.' No you didn't bring up the Sahara or global rainfall, but you did bring up desertification without any evidence it is happening or even could happen.
2 I never disputed CO2 or warming, I have always been disputing the impending doom you are trying to prophecy instead of show evidence for.
sputnik323 1 year ago
@sputnik323 Relating processes to global warming is simply acknowledging a causal connection.
"Boxing breaks noses. Look at all these boxers with broken noses from boxing" Where's the problem?
Rising sea levels are to be expected if the oceans heat and polar ice melts. See how the oceans are rising.
As the partial pressure of CO2 rises the reaction
CO2 + CO32- + H2O → 2HCO3- is driven to the right, lowering the pH. See how the pH of the oceans is falling.
And yes, this stuff is very serious.

@cristop5 Whats this got to do with the price of CO2? The Oceans are now shrinking, so the ph in turn will rise and kill off all the corals.
m1aws 3 months ago
@m1aws "The Oceans are now shrinking, so the ph in turn will rise and kill off all the corals."
The oceans are rising due to thermal expansion and glacial melt. These haven't stopped. However water cycles between the land and sea, and there was a temporay fall in sea levels from March 2010 to March 2011 when heavy rains in Australia, South America etc shifted this balance. As this water makes its way back to the sea levels are rising. The long term trend hasn't inexplicably stopped.

@cristop5
I suggest to get some litmus paper and try it yourself. lol
I'm sick of this constant scare mongering. The sea is either up or down. Land moves, get over it. GIS shows sea droppping constantly over three years.
Half of S. America's forests are gone. Blame them. AUS is still wetter, and the Sahel, now Texas!
m1aws 3 months ago
@m1aws
It's UP by about 5cm since 1993 (sealevel.colorado.edu/content/2011rel2-global-mean-sea-level-time-series-seasonal-signals-retained).
cristop5 3 months ago
@cristop5 Considering on the whole, the sea level has been rising since the Holocene. I should think so too! Pity about Nasa's lately climb down and GIS's erroneous three years of existence.
2006 is an old paper when referring to the past three years. Google:

m1aws 3 months ago
@m1aws Given that you acknowledge a long term rise, it' would be silly for you to imagine this would magically reverse itself. And as it turned out it didn't. I found your link and looked at the graph. The drop from early 2010 to early 2011 is clear, and as expected there is a recovery in sea levels seen after March 2011. This is to be expected as floodwaters make their way to the sea. There is no drop over the last 3 years though. It rises from 2008-2010.
cristop5 3 months ago
@cristop5 Why silly when your very own data shows it has seen several reversals?
A recovery? you mean the cyclic one from the seasons! Thats desperate :(
We are down to 2004 levels. I'd like to see earlier data but wouldn't we all. :)
m1aws 3 months ago
@m1aws
3. "I'd like to see earlier data" Here you go:ht tp://sealevel.colorado.ed u/ (And note the 2010-11 drop in global mean sea levels that still shows on the detrended chart when seasonal signals are removed!)
cristop5 3 months ago
@cristop5 All readings show seasonal variations, including CO2. Thanks for the lovely pictures.
Hmmm, We need to H2O tax these people stealing our sea water, especially those places al Gore said will die of drought.
Poor Nasa.
"But they also expect the global mean sea level to begin climbing again.".
At least they are hopeful :)
Now back to my reasons.. oops! More heat means more clouds (absorb heat) then more precipitation.

Got it.

there are peer review works from all over the world that show the world was warmer during the Medieval Warm Period than now.

@SomeLittleShoe "Are you kidding?? more tree rings"
So please go ahead and show me the link.
cristop5 1 year ago
@cristop5

Pangolinx1 1 year ago
@Pangolinx1 Absolutely agreed..... This notion and others like it are very scary. There seems to be this emphasis on whether one believes the science of climate change or not!!! This arguement attracts all kinds of debate that avoids the real issue. What we can all agree on is the fact that oil will run out one day..... we must change our behaviours to reflect this fact...
boshier79 1 year ago
No global warming since 1998, Obama's climate Tsar wants it called Global Temperature Disruption and the Bilderberg meetings next year (private world leaders + influencials summit) has global cooling on the agenda...
caversmill 1 year ago
@caversmill Debunked. You can not prove Global Warming since 1998 to a 95% confidence interval the scientific definition for "statistically significant." You CAN prove that there is Global Warming to a 90% confidence interval.
That is NOT "no Global Warming." That is a scientist giving an accurate answer to a question designed to confuse the issue.
There HAS been significant losses to the Arctic Ice Cap since 1998 which is a good proxy for overall Global Warming. The ice didn't walk away.
Pangolinx1 1 year ago
@Pangolinx1 you'd think with a 95% accuracy rate, the scientists wouldn't have to change their data, but that's not what's happening in the real world! The truth of the matter is the scientists will only get paid and continue to be funded if they show evidence OF global warming. In Australia, their top climate scientist put together a report on AGW and ultimately said there is no concrete evidence - he was never asked to return!
There is CC - just no AGW!

"Man Made Global Warming Is Fake"
Humans can NOT control everything around them. The Earth will do what it wants to do. Greenland used to be a very fertile growing zone. The Earth changes, get used to it. We as humans have jack and squat to do with the earth changing. The earth fixes itself, just look at the BP spill in the Gulf of Mexico for PROOF.
How many reputable Scientist have to say "Man Made Global Warming Is Fake" before you start believing the truth?

shiftyd100 1 year ago
@shiftyd100 No, you don't get it. The response that many climate scientists make - "weather isn't climate" - is in defense to the assertion that global warming isn't real because it snowed somewhere.
Changing weather patterns is synonymous with climate change.
quidproquo2004 1 year ago
@quidproquo2004 That does not explain claiming one heatwave or an iceberg calving proves man made global warming. I know the fact it snowed somewhere doesn't disprove agw, I also know extreme weather events don't prove it. The climate is always changing. The global recorded temperature begins as we come out of the little ice age. Overall we've been warming for more than a century.
