Dude, thanks for this vid. I figured out everything you said in this video on my own, but was I was not sure of was that if this was a major problem with all the 24-7 guns. As long its just the mags, and they take care of it, I'm cool. I bought one used today for $255! I figured a little fidgeting would uncover a hidden gem.
has anyone ever told you that the manufacturing problem here is your face. anyhow i diagnosed this by looking at you. the angle you were born at has created you as an obtuse invertebrate from the misfeed that happen when you were exiting the birth canal. the only thing more obtuse than your body is your mind. Your head looks like a watermelon i want to see explode in slow motion. sorry i got side tracked, there is no cure for you. where do i send for a new one

@AmericanMade72 just the Taurus Customer Service number in Miami 305-624-1115. Tell em your mags wont cleanly eject, and won't 'snap in' easily. They'll take yours apart and rebuild them and if that doesnt fix the problem they'll send you a new factory replacement. One of mine was refurbished and works flawlessly and the other had to be scrapped so they replaced in entirely. Out of the 6 mags I own now only 2 were fine out the box! The rest had to be sent away :-O ..at least they're very fast!
@SirSmok3Alot225 Cool, thanks fer answering. I called them today, they gave me the info of where to send it, I sent it today. Let's see now, should be easy to track because today is the first. It's gonna take a week to get there, then maybe 3 weeks more to get it back I fear. Where do you buy GOOD mags? I hate to wait a month, I only had the one mag!
I just had a similar problem with my Taurus PT101 .40 caliber. While they are easy to deal with, they take a long time to get anything back. It took 3 weeks to get me a magazine that they had in stock. I checked with there customer service early on.
I licked this video but with all do respect my original magazines were doing just the opposite of what merddyn2002 was showing. The original mags were showing the bullet at a more level position and were giving me feed problems. I got the 2nd generation mags and the bullets were pointing at a higher angle. No feed problems now. Am I confused????
Just called Taurus, they won't send me mags. I was told to let the gun break in. Now I haven't owned all modern firearms, but I've been around long enough and have had a decent cross section of guns throughout the years to know that there are very few guns (even less modern handguns) that need a "breaking in" period..namely 1911's. Pretty sad that you can't buy a Taurus semi-auto ("especially a .45" says the Taurus guy) and expect it to work for several hundred rounds.
@flamengishta (cont'd) ..I asked him to describe what he means (I know..but he didn't). Then I corrected him and asked if he meant if the magazine needed breaking in to somehow let the magazine heal itself of it's poorly designed spring and follower..he was quiet at that point. So anyway...I get to take this DIY gun and make it work myself. Taurus needs to adjust their marketting and take out their "reliable' language..and maybe stop making so many guns and sell the ones that work out thebox.
Took my 2 day old PT 24/7 PRO DS .45acp to the range today and documented everything...3 different kinds of JHP ammo had endless trouble. FMJs fed much better but even they had a few FTFs out of the total 117 rounds I fired. So I do have this magazine problem but I've noticed that the last 4-5 rounds in the mag feed ok. So spring tension and probably that crappy follower is what's causing the play on those top rounds. It also doesn't help to have that lame feed ramp angle.
I had same kinda feed problem with a EEA witness 40, but my case the mag was pinching the rounds down too much in the front causing them to jam up into the feed ramp, every round I had to cycle. I opened up the mag top with pliers getting the angle right and WHAM! Fixed myself.
My gf mom has a pt11 that had a part of the rail shear off and they did nothing about it. It was sent to Taurus 2 times and the last time they sent it back and blued over the sheard area where it was shiny. This gun did this in under 10 rounds through it brand new. So fabulous isnt the word for their warrant if you ask me.I thnk they need to step it up a couple notches in quality control and quality of their guns in generall
ei.. ive been reading all the post.. can someone give some comments on the new 800 series... also to the 24/7 series.. i really like to read some new post, comments, suggestions, and reaction...
photos and videos are really much appreciated.. thanks and more power
sir, i wound like to ask..do you think that they solve the magazine problem??? coz ive notice the new lower reciever.. thanks.. hoping for your reply...
I didnt found OSS here but i noticed that the new Lower reciever of the taurus pt 24/7 pro, they take out the rubber grips and made some improvements...
it's a magazine problem and as far as I know it's limited to the 24/7 line. You might call taurus and see what they say if you're having the same issue.
I told u that I would keep you posted so... I got my pistol back from the manufacturer and I told them everything that was going on and I take it out to shoot assuming they fixed it and the gun jams over and over I was pissed I thought they would've diagnosed the problem and fixed it but they didnt so needless to say I sold it...I'm not getting another Taurus ever again...
Ive watch all your videous of taurus pt 24/7 and ide like to ask personnally what you think about the gun? coz in a few months im planning to buy one and im having a 2nd thought about it. im planning to buy springfield xdm but the price is to much high from pt 24/7... so, i would like to ask you personnally, which one is much better...the taurus pt 24/7 .40 pro OR the springfield xd-m .40... hoping for your answer. THANKS
i havent shot this particular model yet but when smith first made their polymer body steel frame to compete with glock i picked up a 40 cal and for a year i thought it was trash. being stubborn i decided to try different angles in the wrist when firing. if i angled down just ever so slightly versus a straight angle ( almost like shooting down on the target ) i found i had zero feeding problems. i believe its an effect of the top heavy charectaristics of this style firearm.
Actually I found out that it was the ammunition that's causing me a lot of problems...,,, I switch to a higher velocity magtech rounds and it didn't fail me...,,, Tried to increase my current load from 4.0 to 4.3 with a 124 and 125 ammo heads and wow my Taurus 9mm acts as if its a pistol on steroids now,,,... I competed last sunday (ipsc) production category and my Taurus and some luck gave me a 2nd place tyro category..hehe! Really great video and thanks for all the advices I got! God bless all
yep, crappy ammo can cause that. I have endless problems with the cheap winchester white box stuff but if i load blazer ammo it's like a well oiled machine. no substitute for good ammo.
I have had it for around a couple months and I have shot it before I have put around 400 rounds through it and it only had a few misfeeds here and there but this time it was just jamming left and right I was disappointed... but like I said I will keep you posted on how everything goes.
I have the same gun u have in this video and I just got back from shooting I have 4 magazines and when I was shooting it when I would rapid fire it it would shoot fine but when I would shoot slower it would jam almost every damn round. I will be contacting taurus and talk to them tomorrow and see if I can send these four magazines back and see if they will send me new ones and I think my recoil rod is messed up also so hopefully they will send me one of those also. anyway I will keep you posted
I actually have a big problem with my pt 24 7 9mm. It jams a lot and mis-feeds a couple of times and sometimes the ammo won't feed through the barrel. Mine is the titanium one... Its really bad knowing that I got this one this 1st week of May only.
Im trying to decide between the S&W Sigma Allied Forces, and the Taurus PT24/7. They're both 40 S&W, polymer frame with ss slide, and about the same price, but i cant decide on wich one, the only problem with the S&W is that it doesnt have a safety, and the only problem with the 24/7 that i've heard of is the triger pull / some defective mags, i was wondering what your opinion is on this? i'm leaning towards the SW because of the name & i'm not to firmilure with Taurus, but i like what Ive heard
The mag problem with the 24/7 is limited almost exclusively to a batch of bad production mags. If you happen to get one just notify Taurus and send in your old mags and they'll replace them. That's part of the Taurus warranty.
Now the trigger pull is certainly different from most other weapons, no doubt about that. That's because of the unique second strike system taurus has which imo is an outstanding system to have.
springs are new. load them as far as you can. let them sit for a few weeks and you should be able to load another round in there. It takes a while. A lot of magazines have that issues at first.
You seem to be the guy I need to write to whenever I have a problem with my 24/7pro 45.the only thing is,Ive never had a problem yet.I've seen all of your veiw, and all of them are great, keep up the good work
i wonder if it's the mag or the type of ammo. i've had the exact same problem with my 24/7 pro .45 acp. my buddy has as 24/7 pro .40 acp, and another friend who bought the millenium 9mm. we wanted to go shoot and all needed to buy ammo. every single one of us bought PMC bronze ammo....every single gun jammed repeatedly. idk if that would work on the taurus, but it worked on my brothers guns!
thx merddyn. i shot you over a review of me shooting my taurus. with the new mags. it still mis fed. still not sure why. ive also tryed lots of bullets. i even spent $50 for a box of 25 and it still misfed. check out the video i posted of me shooting it. maybe im shooting wrong?
You might want to get a new recoil guide rod spring. If your factory(not 2nd hand) magazine is good and you get a misfeed 1 of 2 things is happening. You have a recoil spring thats too weak or too strong causing a timing problem causing a jam or its your extractor being bent or your extractor spring being too weak. If you can tell tarus your spring feels weak. They send new one. If you have a issue still. Its your extractor. Hope this helps.
I had a problem with my magazine, mine didn't kick up, it feeds the round up level and it would jam. I only had a problem with one mag doing this. good info man.
Thanx a lot man. I will be giving them a call this week. Ill let you know by the end of the week if that fixed it. but the way you pointed out the bullet being at angle when feeding is exactly what it is doing. thx for the help. i will respond back with a video at the end of the week.

If Taurus is such a great high quality gun, how comes they have absolutely NO quality control and produce shitty magazines?
It's companies like Taurus that produce shitty guns that malfunction when you need them to save you life.
The bad guy isn't going to wait for you to clear a malfunction before killing you.

Hey brother,
You might want to get a new recoil guide rod spring.
