@carsnwomen91 Two engines that are the exact same model aren't even the same if they come off of an assembly line. The tooling used to produce each and every part does tend to wear out after each piston, cylinder wall, valve etc. is machined. The difference between the engine using those parts that were punched out first and the engine using parts cut ten later is HUGE...my bad. i should have said "engine configuration"

I have a 99 maxima 5mt and I have raced both a n/a and turbo 300zx. I beat the n/a no problem, but the turbo whooped my ass. Maximas are fast, dont forget, all these have the VQ30 and that is a powerful engine

spanked a 3000gtvra last night. pulled on him at around 140mph. lol. then is splash shield started dragging and causing too much attention with sparks flying everywhere.. haha (i have a 95 max with a 3.5 swap by the way)
not at all. im using a 3.0 trans. gets up to speed alot quicker than the 6spd and much stronger. i broke 2 axles already but i think its just because it was time for them to go anyway. everything in the 3.0 harness basically plugs up to the 3.5 motor. besides the vct which you wont even be using. tho you have to install the cam spacers on the 3.5 since it will be used with 3.0 timing. (jim wolf technologies sells those spacers)
the 300zx is non turbo, no fins in the front bumper... with those mods the Z would be lucky to be around 210 hp @ the wheels... and its a 1600kg car, so not really suprised.

well i own a twin turbo 300zx and used to own 2 350z's. So i know plenty about the cars without looking anything up and i'm gonna tell you that a maxima with a catback will not beat a 300zx with exhaust.
You know nothing. A quick look at any specs from any source will tell you that the 300zx's 300hp can smash the maxima's 190hp. The reason the maxima won is because the Z was either really fucked up and running shitty or it was an old blown out na. EIther way this video is bullshit. @jabba12000 Well notice its says vacuum leak...i had a leak on one of the hoses off my balance bar across the plenum and lost 50ish horsepower and had a horrible skip and idle hunting. So MAYBE, there is some legitimacy to what hes saying, although i am with you. That maxima would have serious trouble beating my NA 300zx.

coming from a nissan ethusiast : the deal is that 90 300z NON TURBO (vg30e) it has just 160 hp at basic trim from the factory,the 95 to 99 max has a vq30de and 190hp and over 200hp of torque right out of the box

if this was a 90 z turbo it would have a vg30dett motor which is twin cam turbo charged and the max wouldnt compare
Actually, a Nissan enthusiast would know the VG30e was in the OLDER z31 300zx not the z32 (1989+)Pathfinder, Quest, 2nd and 3rd gen Maxima, Infiniti M30 and they vary from 150ish to 160hp at the crank depending on vehicle.

@sweeper096 you can tell it's a N/A because it doesn't have the intercooler slots on the front bumber. N/A z's came stock with 222HP those Max's came with I think around 180HP (I could be wrong on that). The Z is a heavier car to.

Wait, time out. You do see that both cars have mods done to them. Second what are you talking about VE's for? This is a 1990 300zx last I checked those came with DOHC VG30DE's not the VE30. The setup for the this model 300zx stock was 222hp to the crank, I'm not sure what it was to the wheels. But the make on the other hand has the VQ30DE which is an improvement over the VG. The mods listed on for the max could in fact balance out the poweer difference which in turn could give the Z a good run.

the 300zx is non turbo, no fins in the front bumper... with those mods the Z would be lucky to be around 210 hp @ the wheels... and its a 1600kg car, so not really suprised.

You know nothing. A quick look at any specs from any source will tell you that the 300zx's 300hp can smash the maxima's 190hp. The reason the maxima won is because the Z was either really fucked up and running shitty or it was an old blown out na. EIther way this video is bullshit. I drive a tt300zx everyday and i know it would never lose to a maxima with these mods. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fucking idiot.

@jabba12000 Well notice its says vacuum leak...i had a leak on one of the hoses off my balance bar across the plenum and lost 50ish horsepower and had a horrible skip and idle hunting. So MAYBE, there is some legitimacy to what hes saying, although i am with you. That maxima would have serious trouble beating my NA 300zx.

got a z32 vg30de and i only had an exhaust mod to it and made the timing to advance,.. and race a maxima 5 speed with full exhaust and a stage 1 clutch just for this thread and for a quarter mile drag he was behind me for like 4 to 5 cars,. at highway i delayed my timing and with the rolling start like this the maxima can even coupe up with my 300zx no offense maxima ethusiast

coming from a nissan ethusiast : the deal is that 90 300z NON TURBO (vg30e) it has just 160 hp at basic trim from the factory,the 95 to 99 max has a vq30de and 190hp and over 200hp of torque right out of the box
basically econo sports cars are always slow.like having a v6 camaro or mustang or a non turbo version of turbo sports car
if this was a 90 z turbo it would have a vg30dett motor which is twin cam turbo charged and the max wouldnt compare

Actually, a Nissan enthusiast would know the VG30e was in the OLDER z31 300zx not the z32 (1989+)Pathfinder, Quest, 2nd and 3rd gen Maxima, Infiniti M30 and they vary from 150ish to 160hp at the crank depending on vehicle.
Now the z32 came with VG30DE (222hp)and VG30DETT (around 300hp), you're making the rest of us enthusiasts look bad with wrong facts

I don't need to look up shit noob. I have first hand experience. Just because a VQ is a superior motor, doesn't mean that it's anything amazing in that 4th gen. Not stock anyway. Stock for stock, the VE walks the 3.0 VQ on the highway everytime. Do you even know what a VE is? Doesn't seem like it. You were probably racing a VG or a shitty VE driver.. Their 1/4 miles are pretty identical. VQ30 with 15.2 and the VE with a 15.3 Thats before the VQ30's inevitable end.

If you happen to man up, you will clearly see the stock VE keeps pulling at top end, while even the newer 2000 5th gen(all I could find) begins to struggle and lose balls. Back in the day on the org's homepage there was something called "battle of the 3.0's" Now it's nowhere to be found. Doubt you were even driving during that time. VQ fan boy.

Oh, and one more thing.. VE was way ahead of its time. Every enthusiast knows this. Plus it can handle more boost. Steel >Aluminum. Ever hit 145mph+ in that cheaper newer Maxima? When the next day since you started? Youtube it if you don't believe me. Do 145+ in maxima or something like that. Im sure you'll come across it. Where are the 4th gens doing that? I tried maxing out my friends 4th gen, and I started laughing at around 125.. It reminded me of my old 93'VG Max..

Aarons spacers are minor, im not sure how easy it is to adjust timing but that can be considered minor. and an intake is def. minor. when i took my car to as high as it would go i was bone dead stock and pegged the speedometer with the car still pulling.

Wait, time out. You do see that both cars have mods done to them. Second what are you talking about VE's for? This is a 1990 300zx last I checked those came with DOHC VG30DE's not the VE30. The setup for the this model 300zx stock was 222hp to the crank, I'm not sure what it was to the wheels. But the make on the other hand has the VQ30DE which is an improvement over the VG. The mods listed on for the max could in fact balance out the poweer difference which in turn could give the Z a good run.

Its called an 00vi on the org, after that if u look at a VQ30s dyno graph u will see it still making power even at redline. look up Dandymax on max org he cammed his VQ30 with a 00vi and set his limiter to 7800 and power still increasing at 7800rpm. chew on that for a little before u come back, moron.

So u think i have never ran a VE before? i had my friend in the car so thats already a 200lbs disadvantage on me we started at 40mph, by the time we were at 70 i had atleast 2 cars on him and kept pulling way past 100. it was pointless to contunie, and why would i contunie? too see this amazing top end that i found didnt exist.
