i like how these shitty pop rock bands take old / already established hits and homogenize their once sonically unique sound into formulaic watered down pop 'punk'.

pop punk formula: power chords, shitty guitar tone, mediocre playing, production that ironically sounds more like a mariah carey CD rather than anything in the realm of 'punk', douchey appearance, and of course, a fan base of entirely musically challenged preteen girls.
