if LA => 8258. ;)

You should also consider that 8258 will be discontinued soon (it is already 2 years old now).

U can never be to young to play Lego. Why should u, the people who are inventing or invented new Lego constructions or New Lego stuff like Lego Pneumatics, Lego Mindstorm are adults who still enojoy playing with Lego.

I study machinebuilding and the Lego Mindstorm is the cheapest Robot unit u can buy for money :). And with all the Lego technic brics u can buy, u can build a nice robot or machine. Lego = Mechanical Education on highest Niveau!

@setechnic It's weird how many people still ask about this, as if there is a standard age when you are supposed to stop building LEGO. I loved these as a child but could never afford them. Now I am 25 and I try to buy at least one every 2 months. They are very relaxing to build, whether you are building normal System bricks or with Technic ones. It's true some are a bit time consuming (I bought the new Mobile Crane and it took around 8 hours to build) but the results are always quite fun.

This model doesn't have pneumatics only the gear driven accuators on the crane - same for the stabilizers - gear driven as well. The whole system is ingenious as all the functions, stabilizers, rotation and movement of both joints of the crane work from one motor.  The down side is you have to revers the motor in order to get all 8 functions out of (4) 2-way switches.

dont try it will ruein your drive gears i tried on my tow truck and it was a disaster i had to replace ann the drive gears and an over torqued axel

it is an easy upgrade, just remove all of the engine and its mounts and the xl motor fits directly onto the chassie rails
