yes, having passion over an issue is not a problem. Resorting to name calling and labeling people degrade our political culture and ability to rationalize. I see myself as conservative ( a CT conservative ;) ) but I am not a big fan of Anne Coulters tactics. As for human nature, I believe we are creatures of good and always strive to better ourselves. but we are easily distracted, especially from the sermon on the mount.

Why do conservatives always use "liberal" like a curse word? If anything it's something to be proud of. And for republicans to use it as a curse word is just plain out retarded.

The US have two parties, one socially liberal/liberal and the other economically liberal/conservative. Both parties have major influences from that part of the ideology.
