At least , I can save alot of time dealing with accidents, such as dealing with insurance, mechanic, police or even attorney, and also avoid disruption of normal life. Worth the money
I'm very impressed with the development the Volvo team have come up with. I don't know about other cities in the world but Sydney and particularly most areas in Sydney in peak hour traffic are so slow that you may as well get out and walk. This feature can save a lot of accidents from occurring - I cannot count how many times the traffic reports collisions on major roads in peak hour traffic that cause even more delays.
You cannot be too safe in a vehicle. It's such a dangerous activity.
thye thing with this is that you can only be going 19 mph or less... who really goes that slow in the city.. and stop-n-go traffic conditions are minimal
as u all quite rightly say that it doesn't brake until the last second, well what if the car in front for some reason has to do an emergency brake wat would happen then??
jileras, u got it right. they have to make it last minute but not the last to stop the car as otherwise this system will interrup the driver for braking during needed.
"I've noticed this car will not brake until the last second"
That is the idea. We do not wish to have a system that will be a nonsense, meaning it will constantly activates if one gets just a little to close to the target vehicle. The consumer will then deactivate the CSS, thus defeating the purpose of having it in the car. When a collision is imminent, and only at that point, CSS will if possible, prevent or minimize the collision.
Basically what Mercedes has already done but on a much smaller budget. I've noticed this car will not brake until the last second which has is a disadvantage which stopping suddenly might lurch the occupiers forward. Also there is more chance of it hitting the car. However, this DOES seem unlikely if you are only dealing with speeds 30 mph or less...

Anyone who needs this should have their license revoked! And that auto park that Lexus has, c'mon where did you get your license; from a cereal box?

It would break in the last second, and stop or lower the damages of a possible impact.
