Hey Chris, I too have difficulty with procrastination. I find the solution is to find something else that really needs doing, but is so horrific that you'd rather do what you were meant to be doing in the first place, and then try and do the horrible thing. You'll end up 'procrastinating' and doing the first thing... hopefully.

surely we procrastinate because the thing we need to be doing is not at all what we want to be doing. the brain is being asked to engage in something which it really doesnt consider worth the effort. which might explain why the more intelligent a person is the more likely he is to be a serious procrastinator.

im glad you're back, and i recently figured out that smart people dont get sidetracked because they're lazy, they just have better things to do :P no, what works for me is if i think of doing my work the same way i think of keeping a promise, and then work on it the same way i would if i were making a video, playing fallout 3, building an instrument, or trying to watch an entire series of naruto... ya kno, just think about it differently.

Its strange, as a kid I was always interrupted by either my sister or my mum (always on the homework pulse she was!) and revision was a pain (she was on the pulse for that too). Talking to myself in my bedroom would create mystery and increased the attacks of curiosity. Since growing up I have noticed she has become even more annoying and has a strange clairvoyant ability to plan things which conflict with my plans, hence I plan a second plan into every plan, 2nd plan is to wing it! :D
