  • @Maleknia I beat his record (from his prime)

  • It´s beautiful, i wish we had it here in Sweden. Kettlebells and Zurkhane whould make wonders for me, or anybody in strenght.

In west, even in US there "indian clubbells" is getting more famous, and that is the same thing but, i don´t know why they didin´t mention it´s persian club bells

  • this is one of the most effiective work outs ever

  • Is this made of wood? If this is pure cast metal I wouldn't believe it.

  • What were the big square shield-like slabs they were working with?

  • Great workout. Should start this in the states

  • Is time saving to use these clubs !

    Swinging them,makes your SHOULDERS,FOREARMS and WRIST, very strong at the sametime;

There is another instrument ,called KABBADE!

That is for shoulder and in PURE METAL!

Is verrrry HEAVY and is used by VETERANS of ZURKHANEH!!!

  • IS it just wood or do they fill the clubs with mortar or lead or steel or what?

  • Those are just wood.

  • I believe that mostly they use wood, but many of them will have lead caps on them to increase the weight

  • it depends.. they can't just make them really big if they want heavier a heavier club, most of those are compressed so that the wood is smaller and then put together to make it weight more.

  • Very good music in this video! Man do I want a pair o' those clubs! Just keep swinging random stuff all day long xD

  • i got the video with the original sound i will send you when im on next time remember me....bye

  • off hand I will guess that heavy club swing would greatly improve their saber swing to the point where the sword would slice half thou a man's body if not take his head off

  • I've been training with my own home made clubs for about five years now, and throwing a heavy club like that up in the air still seems like something I am not strong enough to do. But it does give me something to look forward to trying. This is a great video! Thanks for uploading it!

  • peace, from india :)

  • This is brilliant. There's Indian (Bengali) movie called World of Apu that shows an Indian man working out witha massive club. It looked like really good exercise. Does anybody out there know if where to practice this art in New York City?

  • do you know where to get clubs and any learning material for swinging them.

  • Enter "Iron Sheik Swing" in youtube search engine....You can use dumbell with weight on one end, that's how I do mine, can't find real ones to buy. In the Iron Sheik Swing vid, he uses a metal club made by a metalworker.

  • Yes, i just recieved mine today, i ordered it from ebay, i got a 15kg and a 20kg, they are so heavy!!

  • What search did you use?

  • what about the pushup board that iranian wrestler's use. they do pushups on this board.....what is this board called?

  • The pushup board is called "takhteh shenA"!

  • what is the doorlike instrument that looks like a shield and the wrestler is on the floor. He has one in both hands and he is twisting his body while holding these shields in each hand? What is this? very interesting.

  • The doorlike instrument is called "sang".

Strong soldiers would create temoprary bridges over trenches in the battlefield as needed using their shields over their head and shoulder. This exercise prepares one for such a task.

  • great video and the music

  • Also, I believe the clubs are spelled 'Mil', but I may be mistaking. Still, awesome video.

  • The music is pretty cool, too.

  • Really like to see this taught in the states.

  • very interesting !

  • YA ALI....the strongest men in the world, if they did world strongest man events and hit some gear they'll dominate todays strongmen.

  • Very cool, thanks for sharing this.

  • How much do these clubs weigh? And is there a source for them in the USA?

  • AMAZING!! look at how they throw those clubs

  • speak english

  • That looks like lots of fun but where is the One on one at?

    anywho great video

  • Extremely inspiring, just look at the older men doing these exercises together, amazing they look very healthy!

  • it is not tonbak. it is called "Zarb".

  • zarb just means drum. tombak/tonbak is the specific kind of drum they use.

  • Scott Sonnon can tell you.

  • That was off the Hook!!!

  • The music was off the hook.

  • persian and indian ere very close and thus they both contribute to kusti, kabaddi, club swinging etc.

  • Great video! Authentic stuff...Question to anyone who might know: Do they also use 'geda' in their training?

  • its not exclusively persian. we also got traditional wrestling, malyuddha (which is very ancient and pre-islamic) and the club-swinging kind of exercise which is mentioned in one of the great epics and also various treatises on wrestling.

  • there is this kind of excercise in india also (indigenous not persian). very interesting.

  • Actually, it's originally Persian. It migrated to India and mixed with indigenous yoga.

  • Excellent video on the old school ClubBell. This old school clubbell worked pretty much every single muscle on the upper body after you swing it for many repetitions you will be tired in muscles you didn't even know you had.

There was a wrestler once called The Great Gama (1892-196?). He retired undefeated from 5000 matches!! Yes he was 5000-0 and he used the clubbell and the hindu pushups, hindu squats and the bridges for training along with intense wrestling training.

  • wicked video...are there any more excerxcises that can be done

  • In Iranian traditional sport-martial art of (Zurkhaneh) there are many other types of exercises which can be performed.

  • What a great video this is! Hypnotic and enpowering. I wish I was able to participate in this type of training in the U.S. Does anybody know the name of the music playing in the background and where I could find it? Magickal, to say the least...Very inspiring. It sure bets running on a treadmill and doing sit-ups.

  • rachid taha, barra barra

  • You actually can do some of these exercises here in the US, just there are no clubs for them like in Iran. You can order clubbells and do the club swinging exercise right in your own home.

  • amazing video but the video isnt in Farsi!!!!

  • Very slick, well made. But just what is that exercise they are doing with the two shield like objects?

  • It does the core, shoulders and chest. They are meant to be shields. This came about during occupation, when Iranians were not allowed to learn martial skills, so they learnt masquarading as a sport.

  • The history of all exercises practiced in Zurkhaneh or "House Of Power" goes back to pre-Islamic times.

  • It is the Iranian traditional form of bench-press. It is very difficult to perform.

  • Cool stuff! Also the music rocks! Thumbs up

  • Nice

did u have a video about the Iranian Team

  • excellent

  • i wish there was a zoor khaneh in San Fran!

  • I love this... excellent video... I wish we could get all our young Persians from all regions to go back to the basics and learn that from strength comes purity and light.
