  • Such an unrecognised talent.....still listening and loving her music since I was given her first album.........just wish I could see her perform live again........

  • i love the squeakyness. i just love kate bush

  • Probably actually prefer this to the original, strange to say remembering how great that was. I like the extra vocals and guitar on the longer outro, and the interplay between the two.

  • Merci à mon amie Paola de la chaîne ' ThePaola6661 ', pour le partage de cette vidéo. Un très bon souvenir aussi. Oui,j'aime.

  • che voce

  • She's a great woman with a great voice!

  • I close my eyes and pretend this is a live version. And it ends with a wild round of cheers and applause from the audience.

  • nice work

  • This version from 1986 is much much better than the original one from 1978 although the orinal is also masterpiece. It's the best song sung by woman in 20 th century. No doubt about that. The best six women songs below :

    1. Wuthering heights 86 - Kate Bush 2. Nothing compares to you - Shined o' Connor 3. Private dancer - Tina Turner 4. Somewhere over the rainbow - Judy Garland 4. Three babies - Shined o Connor 5. Dancing queen - Abba 6. Don't speak - No doubt

  • This is the best female vocal EVER

  • Dave Gilmour out of Pink Floyd found this talent and on this track his guitar is outstanding,i also believe Phil Collins played the drums on this track AWESOME

  • The Whole Story version is really great. But I don't think it fits with the video, 'cause in the first performance she wanted to sound and look like a desperate soul (as Cathy in the book)...

But every Kate fan wants to watch a video from Wuthering new version.

    Good job! =)

  • While I agree that this version sounds more mature, and it is by no means a bad rendition of the song, I don't think 'maturity' is something this song needed. The squealier and poutier quality of the original version is part of its appeal for me.

  • lovely then lovely now lovely forever

  • Much better sound, much more mature voice. And the piano is amped up a bit, which is great.

  • Ela morreu? De quê?

  • just a dream :)

but I can'na help but think now, as I did the very first time I saw it as a wee girl, gorgeous as the song and KT is...... when she extends her arm so dramatically......

    SPOTTING QUAIL! Lol :)))

    forgive me

my brain is to blame :(

  • ahhhh ! catherine , que tu est belle .

  • I prefer the other version for some reason

  • toda vez que eu vejo esse clip eu fico emocionada nao dar pra esplicar de mais

  • Ela é simplesmente maravilhosa!!!

  • There was a time before this song, and after.

  • no me canso de escucharla puffff, la amooooooooooooooooo

  • She has more control of her voice in this version, it is even more haunting actually.

She is putting something extra into these vocals.

  • Is it bad for me to say.... that I think I prefer this version to the original??

  • I love Kate Bush :) She was so pretty :)

  • i love her she is the best of all times

  • i prefer her voice on this version, but the old instrumental is better !

  • I couldn't agree more... This sounds great through headphones, I mean my ones are cheap and can't go very loud but once I stuck this tune on, not only was it loud enough but the audio has that real 'live' feel to it... But then again, this is the new vocal version so I suspect it's the same through everyone's speakers ;P

  • Great job! I can't believe there was no video for the new vocal.

  • this way of sing is better than the other, but not the music.

  • Sounds great through headphones.

  • Loved Pat's version for many years, didn't care for this one until I saw the 1939 movie. Now I get it...it is beautiful! The more I listen to it the more I love it.

  • It's a bit hollow and echoey sounding at times as well, but it's nice that the lyrics are clearer. The first version is definitely better recorded, this is like an interesting demo or live version.

  • I don't like how this version closes out as much, the sound seems a bit muffled as well.

  • @TheZapzupNZ Her voice has naturally changed as well though, it's not through intention that it has got much deeper.

  • It's the best version of the song with an improved vocal and music but the video is from 1978 if I'm correct.

  • What Kate did with her voice at the end of the new mix ranks among the most chilling and heart-felt vocals ever recorded, imo

  • fucking classic

  • love this song! she has such a good voice, Cant pick wish one i prefer. This version or the orginal. Love both of them.

  • Just added this to my Favorites. I love the later version of the recording, but this video, and the famous Red Dress video, are such touchstones of my teenage years. Thanks so much for finding a way to incorporate the music into the video!

  • Ok, good song, ok video, this song has been stuck in my fuckin head for a week or so, can anybody help me?

  • thats my mum :I

  • Oh Kate so fantastic never deny your past, we were all at our best when young, you were better than anyone , so naturally talented, the first cut is the deepest

  • welld done in making clip, fanx4uppin!!

  • Oh,i love this song!!!

  • I still prefer the old version. The pitchy parts were more depictive of the madness of the love, the passion, of the story.

  • Personally I also prefer the later vocal too, but not juxtaposed on the original video, it doesn't fit, doesn't match her youthful looks back then and mostly doesn't sync up with her mouth on that video, it should be left in its original state (the video that is).

  • I like both versions for different reasons. In this version, her voice is stronger but also deeper, which seems to take it out of the Brontesque ghostly atmosphere, and turn it into a regular love song.

He expressiveness in this version is wonderful, but the quirky otherworldly screeches in the older version are more haunting, and for me, more memorable. Her flying up and down the octaves were part of the madness of this song. All part of the madness of Catherine and Heathcliff's story.

  • WOW, where can I download this version!!?!??!

  • Mind you, it was quite appropriate that she sounded like a little girl in the first version, since Cathy appears again in Lockwood's dream in the form of a little girl.

  • Luv this. Much improved.

  • kate bush = stunning!

  • This is a much more powerful version..... Her voice is less squeaky.

  • The guitar solo is perfect, as is the whole song of course!

  • @gemimasaliva ohh can I add the bass is awsome too!

  • Wow,sensational Version.I'd never heard this before.Great Kate.And good job, zack

  • OH MY GOSH! This was very well done! I didn't think the 1986 vocal could be superimposed on the 1978 video this well. Bravissimo!

  • So awesome song! The chorus melody is so touching, especially in this version

  • wonderful work you did? I congratulate you friend ...... I love this version, I remember my years in college, specifically the year 1994.gracias for sharing!

  • amazing song.......very nice version,I like....!!

  • This 1986 version is my favorite. It never gets old. Pure beauty. Kate is the BEST.

  • great new vocal but I have always wondered (even back 30 whatever ears ago) who played the awesome guitar solo at the end of the track? anyone know?

  • @wonsworld

The guitar solo is played by Ian Bairnson who is a Scottish session guitarist. He is known to have played with the Alan Parsons Project and was in the group Pilot whose big hit was Magic. That was him doing the lead guitar parts on that song. A lot of people assumed it was David Gilmour because of his association with Kate Bush. Great solo indeed though I would not mistake it for David Gilmour because he has a distintive tone.

  • @Guitarist1972 Thank you so much . .Pilot? they had a second massive hit here in Aus. .JANUARY. . who would have thought it lol. Thanks for the info.

  • so spacey and so sexy. such a tasty feel good song, it never gets old.

  • In the late 70's she had a similar influence on young girls as The Spice Girls did in the 90's. Lot's of 4 year olds running about in their nighties copying this...in the UK any road.

  • This is awesome, thanks for the upload. I love the video and the original, but wow! The new one really shows off her vocal range.

  • Powerful vocals! Put me in a trance...Kate is magick...

  • Towards the end, when she adds her voice to that howling guitar - that is something you don't hear every day!

You can listen to this 100 times, and it still makes your spine tingle!

Thank you so much for adding the video to one of my favourite songs...

  • Simply perfect, i can hear and watch this one without end!!

  • 3.55 it doesn't get any better than this....what a performance....great memories from my time growing up in england :)

  • woooooooooooooow it's an angel 0_o she's amazing!!!! :D <333

  • such a beautiful voice

  • @TheZapzupNZ i totaly agree

  • @TheZapzupNZ i knoow her voice sounds so different through the eras but i think her voice sounds best deeper on ounds of love nd areal especialy

  • I like the original version better. Kate is the best!

  • @oldierunner No this is the one with the new vocal, see the titel XD

  • Comment removed

  • @oldierunner The original version has this witchy vocal which I like.

  • Ja ist schon Recht! It's alright so!

  • LOL... Piscalzo... I *was* 15 at the time... Hopeless in love with her ever since. :)

  • I never quite understood why the 'new vocal' version was never released as a single in it's own right, rather than being tucked away on the 'B' side of a single release ("Experiment iv")- ah well, that's Kate for you, true quality all the way!

  • awsome

  • This song is truly brilliant. Kate is one of the most gorgeous women I've ever seen. This version is much better than the original as her voice has matured. I was 5 when the original was released and vaguely remember it. If I'd been 15 at the time, its impact on me would've been immense lol.

  • She fascinates me...her song is mesmerizing....she's mesmerizing...totally immersed in her craft and the sentiment of the song...she's captured the novel/movie/story in her song.

  • i loveeeeeeeeeeee youuuuuuuuuuuuu kateeeeeee:**,marryy meeee:))***

  • There's the version I was looking for!!!

Thank you Zack, I need that extra minute of Katie and David at the end to fill me up.

  • David? If you're talking about the solo, it WASN'T played by David Gilmour. Ian Bairnson was the guitarist.

  • @BassVirtual Holy Doodle, I've been completely wrong on that point for the last 30 years !!! Thanks for that correction. I hate giving people incorrect information. But I'm still shacking my head; I thought it sounded so much like Gilmour. The things you learn on the Internet ......

  • so awesome

  • I don't think she's acting. I think it's more an interpretive dance, and she seems to emote rather well.

  • Obviously she's not acting. There are people who didn't understand that.

  • thats exactly what it is

  • muito bom

  • Wow i really prefer the old versoin.. this doesnt fit her..i think the atmosphere of the song is missing without the 'vintage' recording.

  • Yes, I am finally in heaven. The New Vocal Version is much more mature than the original one. This is my favourite song ever. Next life, we are going to get married, Kate!

  • amazing...love her!

  • this is a wonderful mix of her video and the new vocal. I wish she made a new video of this song its timless classic.

  • thank you....great job

  • i love her voice. i can't help listening to whole story album everyday

  • I'm so moved.

I loved this song about 30 years ago.

    This version is more passionate.

  • @cosmosk1 This is exactly why I also prefer this version - because of the more passionate , more expressive performance. Her voice is more mature and better-developed, too) No wonder Kate herself prefers it too.

This is for me the ultimate PERFECTION, the greatest recording ever made!

  • @vitekpiglet The original version was also passionate.

  • @starry2006 Did I say the original version wasn't? NO! I just said that the "new vocal" version is MORE passionate than the original and I still think the same. Both versions are passionate, but the new vocal is just MORE passionate in my opinion, but I am not the only person who thinks that . Greetings from Poland !

  • i tried to make this once but i was unsuccesful =( but anyway well done this is gd

  • This new vocal is even better than the original, it's more emotional.

  • Wow! this is smart!

    =D

    Keep making more =D
