  • at least there aren't any dumb faggots on here saying "DUHH IM ON DUH WEIRD PART OF UTOOB AGAIN LOL XD SO RANDUMB"

  • My dad used to tell us to shut this cr@p off. He said we were watching some Jew sticking his lipsticked asshole through a hole in a piece of cardboard. Heh, heh...funny old man!

  • This is SO CREEPY!!

  • Oh my God, Paddlefoot, a bomb!

  • Yep. This was made by Canadians.

    *sigh*

  • THE GOOD AULD DAYS

  • Are they trying to train people to become serial killers who don't replace your eyeballs with mirrors but instead your mouth?

  • 2:52 Stretched ears

  • 1:02 That sounds just like Landon Ricketts from Red Dead Redemption.

  • Did he say "titties??"

  • [hums the theme to Clutch Cargo]

  • I thought we stopped calling Native people savages in like the 1700's?

  • I believe he did.hahahaha.

  • Better cal CCEA

  • Wtf did I just watch lmao

  • Anderson Coopers dad back in the days

  • Shucks. T'ain't nothin'.

  • Someone set us up the bomb!

    I don't trust a man who doesn't blink.

  • Isn't it strange how Clutch hangs out with a little boy? They have never been identified as relatives. Please Clutch, kiss me with those lips, then tell me you haven't molested Spinner.

  • laawwwllLlLl

  • 0:30

Well, there is at least some animation i see

  • Yeah sure call the black people when theres a lot of bananas!

  • CC, A BOMB

  • A BOMB.

  • this toon reminds me the anoying orange XD

  • For some reason, my dad told me to look this up on YouTube. He bet that I couldn't find anything. Maybe it's because I was complaining about how he was watching Comedy Central...and then we started talking about how cartoons are funny. I should've seen this coming, knowing my dad. -_-;; This has got to be the trippiest cartoon I've seen.

  • 0:57 paddlefoot works out, look at his arms

  • I don't understand folks coming on here talking about stuff having more animation than this. GET A LIFE!!! If you are under 35, GO SAT DOWN because you didn't watch it when it was on air and therefore can't appreciate it.

  • @agapereign That's what all the people on TV Tropes care about these days. 99% of the people who hate Johnny Test there say something about how it has poor animation and say "animation is everything". I can't see where the animation is bad. And now they're so fussy about CGI animation and traditional animation...I swear, it's people like that that make it so hard to enjoy a cartoon. And I'm only 15! These guys are older than me!

  • @agapereign When something is cheaper than a Hannah-Barbera short, then people have the right to say it's bad animation.

  • @agapereign "GO SAT DOWN". I should end there, but I won't. Listen, buddy: this kind of cheap, atrociously made "cartoons" made a huge disservice to animation in general. The only thing there is to "appreciate" here is the complete destruction of an entire medium, which affects us even in the present day, when artists STRUGGLE to make people see animation as a serious art form which is not necessarily "for children". This cartoon is crap today as much as it was back then.

  • what am I watching?

Am I tripping out on acid again?

  • who needs drugs? this is the kinda thing that makes drugs more awesome!

  • The 12 dislikes are those 2 dudes that got blown up and 10 people who tried smoking banana peels and didn't get high!

  • The dogs face upon hearing Swampy's remark was priceless. That quote was about as subliminal as a mallet to the head.

  • Sadly, this sort of animated faire was the only tv we had as a child, Circa 1963-66. I have finally recovered from the years of brainwashing we were induced to endure. As is the agenda of the social engineering classes; we were hypnotized and controlled, en masse. I haven't seen this cartoon in well over fourty years but it still lingers in the sub-conscience. It would have been just as easy to have cartoons relay quantum mechanics theorems...To think where we would be as a species... Sad.

  • "There's enough there to feed an entire tribe of hungry savages!"

I though we stopped calling Natives savages hundreds of years back.

  • I stole CBS!

  • @SilverMcdowell1992 Frikin' libreeeelllllllllllll

  • @F21productions Hahaha Hmha ha.... Oh Jesus!!!! Catch the Wave !! ,/,, ohhhhhh.....

  • @SilverMcdowell1992 Oh I just made a giant masterpiece for all the Greatest World Newspaper Nerds!

  • @totalrandomcrap My brother's wearing the other one...

    (hee hee)

    BUT IT'S DIRTY!

  • 3:35 could be the GM of the TV station this was on having a Myocardial Infarct -- a big-ass MONSTER heart attack!

  • This is some ultra hi-resolutuion shit! Is it real or is it m/f Clutch!

  • this is rascist too apperantly.. lol all they did for the black guy was die some white guys lips black

  • "Wow! Look at all those bananas!"

Looks more like a haystack to me.

  • I think he's saying just let me get my bums and my diddies straight. As in the sound a drum makes: bum diddy bum diddy bum. No?

  • This cartoon was made for the hearing impaired...they can read lips that is the reason for the weird mouth movement.

  • I've been trying to think of anything else the character at 2:37 might have said that could have been misinterpreted as what we all seemed to hear. But I can't, it most certainly seems like he actually said that.

  • How could someone make something so fucking stupid and WTF???? "Let me get my Bums and my Tittes straight" WHYYYYYYYY???????

  • This show doesn't seem very memorable.

  • which was weirder Fireball XL5 or Cluch Cargo

  • 2:53) Is that headhunter wearing a groucho marx nose?

  • I'll be seeing this in my nightmares.

  • I know this wasn't as polished as Jonny Quest, who wasn't as whiny as the boy. I know JQ was a redirecting from Jack Armstrong the All American Boy, but could Jq have gotten the formula from this?

  • I think I barely recall seeing this on Captain Puget. I used to think CC reminded me of Race Bannon. I wonder if the boy could be a precursur to Jonny Quest. The Dachsund reminded me of Bandit, who did run around w/ a weinerdog in "Shadow of the Condor".

  • Max Headroom tv hacking sent me here

  • @galloway62042009

    *gasp* Me too!

  • The cartoon creator used real lips for the cartoon characters because his own son was deaf but could read lips. =)

  • 11 people have no clue.

  • 2:36 Did....did he just say "let me get my bums and my titties straight"??

  • @gkiss1001 i do think he said ditties, although it sure sounds like otherwise!

  • @gkiss1001 He sure did!

  • @gkiss1001 Love your comment on this clip - you're very observant aren't you? I've been laughing all day thinking about it :)

  • @gkiss1001 Yes he did say that...!!!!

  • @gkiss1001 Judging on the look on the dog's face straight after, I wouldn't be surprised. LOL

  • @gkiss1001 that's what it sounded like. that's funny

  • @gkiss1001 and just look at the dog's face after he said it!

  • @gkiss1001 i...i really can't hear anything other than that. thanks.

  • space ghost has more animation than this

  • @MaxSteele9 A comic book has more animation than this.

  • @MaxSteele9 It's cheap, fast, and the lips are always in sync.

  • They could've at least gotten the chick that voiced the little kid to wipe off the lipstick

  • I was looking for these I used to watch them on Cactus Joes kids show on Sat mornings in Rke. Va. And on Uncle Looney's Kids show in the Afternoons after the news I think . Man its been way to long. I was putting together a lego for my Son & saw a ad on a Paper that came with it & Clutch powers was the Dude & it made me think of this Cartoon With the moving Lips . Too Funny ! Thanks again Cheers Ray!

  • paddlefoot ftw

  • no need for sound on this.

  • I use to watch this- could never figure out how cartoon people had real human mouths LOLOL

  • Cluch Cargo sorta looks like a white Obama.

  • Somebody set them up the bomb!

  • Is it too much to ask to have animated MOUTHS ?! I guess they were on a shoestring budget.

  • I watched this as kid, but I am thinking I wasted my life by doing so no wonder I am so screwed up

  • I just came over to look at these because Conan mentioned Clutch Cargo cartoons in his recent appearance on the Larry King Show.

  • A Friendly -fucking- headhunter!?!?

  • LOL Snooty savages who wear top hats and speak the Queen's English? LOL

  • Paddlefoot seemed quite shocked after Swampy mentioned bums and titties at 2:37

  • Spinner, put your arms down!!!

  • @henry01090905 lol! "You can put your arms down now." I like how the mouths don't match anything in this show.

  • A very ethnically sensitive cartoon. Musta been way ahead of it's time. LOL!

  • It's a bomb! RUN! Wait, we can't! It's limited animatBOOM!

  • this is why you tube is so cool got to love to revisit your childhood

  • friendly headhunters???

  • What were these people smoking when they came up with THIS?!

  • did i hear something about titties?

  • DEM LIPS

  • yheah

  • My Dad mentioned watching this when he was a kid. I had to look it up.

  • I like bananas.

  • i thought this was the band DEFFINATELY NOT

  • I knew two things about TV when I was a kid: Lawrence Welk sucked and there was no such thing as an "exciting" Clutch Cargo adventure! Watching Clutch on DVD allows you to see the dirt and scratches on the heavily reused animation cels.

  • I knew two things about TV when I was a kid: Lawrence Welk sucked and there was no such thing as an "exciting" Clutch Cargo adventure!

  • Tell that kid to put his fucking arms down!

  • did anyone hear? they're going to do a live action version of clutch cargo -- with animated lips!

  • @dfgjhdj that would be brilliant

  • Little did we know they'd ressurect this way of making cartoons and dub them "Motion Comics".

  • This was Differnt But Cartoon History.

    Thank you

    For the listing.

  • It what the reason I got hooked on drugs...hello!

  • hahaahah my dad hated this show growing up

  • Comment removed

  • This was overlooked by the Academy. Read my lips Oscar voters. Give Clutch a statue.

  • 2:40 - Probably the most animation you'll ever see on Clutch Cargo...

  • @Kohdok wonder why they put out so much effort???

  • This is a nightmare of nightmarish proportions.

  • Thanks , for this clip now I now what happened to me.

  • Oldest Cartoon I remember...check the animation....mainly the mouth is moving..keyed in... From this to Avatar!

  • This is the cheapest animation i have ever seen!

  • whats with the red mouths looks like they've been sucking bums or cocks very creepy

  • Comment removed

  • I remember this, it seemed like everything used to always happen on the "Plateau". I also remember The Might Hercules, Sinbad and Salty, and Daktari.

  • Are you asking us why would someone need drugs when we have this?

The answer is obvious, if we need drugs it's because of THIS.

  • It airs on TubTub at random times (TVWeb360 > Kids/Cartoons > TubTub1). It's also available on DVD; entire series + extras.

  • It airs on TubTub at random times (TVWeb360 > Kids/Cartoons > TubTub1). It's also available on DVD; entire series + extras.

  • That's Hal "Otis" Smith as Swampy.

  • I`d forgotten about this show, whose idea was it to have real mouths on staticy animated cartoon characters

  • Yaaaaay! Clutch Cargo

  • LOL!

  • This was one of those toons one greatly loved,or greatly hated.Me, I was creeped out with the live mouths speaking.

  • what kind of weird experimental animation were they trying those days, freaking horrible.

  • They were too lazy to animate the mouths.

  • Brock Samson on Venture Brothers is based on Clutch Cargo.

  • He think Totumpole alive! That Totumpole been here forever!

  • Many thanks to Steve Morton for making this possible.

  • Yeah, weird-O-Rama! My friend Bill told me to check it out cuz' it put him in mind of our animated cartoon project "Top Billin'...The Health Care Reform REMIX" but even though I'm flattered, the human mouth thing is just sooooo wrong...ew.

  • 'It...it's some kind of a bomb!'

...and yet, nobody decides to run, no, they let the dog pick it up. WTF?!

  • @hotelmario510 they don't try to run because they don't have the animation budget to be able to move their legs.

  • @robokill387 'Quick, everyone, have a carwash and we might--we just might--be able to run away from the--'

    KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.

  • at 2:34 I thought he sayed" Just let me get my bums and my tities straight"LOL

  • "Friendly Headhunters" I didn't know that.

  • OMG!! I had a car named Swampy. hippies.

  • 'What I looked like after this video.' -> 3:34

  • the ONLY reason i saw this was becuz my art teacher told us that it was a strange combanation of cartoons and the real world. . . . .i dont really like it

  • I remember this from back around 1964 or so, the human mouths creeped me out then, and still do today.BRRRRR!!!!

  • Like what was the budget on this gem? Twenty bucks? Less? Talk about a freudian dream. But the tune does stay in your head. Kinda sexy slinky music.

  • The 'friendly headhunter' with glasses & an English accent was just too much!!!

  • I was born in 1957; I can't remember this cartoon. A coworker told me about it so I checked it out. This is hilariously bad==I haven't laughed so hard in a long long time; my wife wondered what was wrong with me!

  • This animation quality rivals Disney! :D

  • i can diffidently imagine adult swim picking this up

  • Seeing the mouth on animation is a bit weird, but this is definitely not a terrible cartoon. D:

  • ''What a bloody classic'',,,fantastic that we can see these cartoons again ....

  • This is so goddamn creepy...

  • @ 2:34

Just let him get his bums and his titties straight....

Wow. This cartoon is like vomit, but so damn enjoyably campy.

  • There's more animation in the dog looking at the bomb than the entire show!

  • I haven't seen CC in fifty years! Thought it was weird then and still do.

  • ..and you'd be wierd if you didn't! lol

  • @austinstein: no, today we have sleazy, hate-filed "cartoons" like South Park and Family Guy.

  • @kpadmirer

So u 60's kids didn't think it was cool. Good I thought nostalgia made everything look cool but there're limits to everything.

Neither us from the 70's liked this. I actually didn't enjoy cartoons untill Japanese robots stormed out around 77/78...

  • Pickle Surprise!

  • Don't you have the complete adventure?

  • it would be up if I did..

  • I have them all on DVD.

  • Oh wow. What a film.

  • @0:03 LOL that shit eating grin.

  • steev one commet to you..

    your an ass...

  • omfg this is so creepy

  • Cool opening tune

  • uh god

  • The life-like mouths look female-ish I think.

  • Even as a little kid I realized how silly the moving mouths were.

But you know what--my friends and I watched this every morning before going to school.

It was a simpler time--I'm talking around 1958.

  • I would need drugs to get THROUGH films like this! what kind of cheap ass animator would just be lazy and substitute human mouths? It just looks creepy! At 2:40 ; that bit of animation stretched the budget! WOW! Actual movement that doesn't involved just a limb, or a cheated mouth replacement!

  • Hey Clutch, you don't have to tell them to keep their eyes open. They're already jammed open!

Clutch's facial expression is that of a man seeing goatse for the first time.

  • So bizarre... it's not like they were saving time with this technique, you only need to alternate between like 5 phonemes (pictures of a mouth) to make lip syncing passable.... this just looks weird and trippy.

  • It just looks wrong!

  • I actually used to watch this as a kid. Watching the overlaid real mouths saying the dialog cracks me up. The opening for SpongeBob now uses the same technique.

  • Mother

    FUCKER!!

  • 3:00 what the fuck is that?

  • Comment removed

  • Looks like Steve Allen.

  • @polerbear1000 LOL!!!!

  • In whose universe did superimposing live action lips onto cartoon characters seem like a good idea?
