just got mine 3 days ago...and bought some bactine spray to put on it to prevent infection because i was at work and it was gettin swolin and leakin clear juice..LOL...hopefully its not infected..but ima keep the spray with me and clean it regularly..it throbs pretty much all day until it scabs..then when i break the scab it throbs....should i keep twistin the bar every now and then?

@RisSyBeoTcH69 Your not supposed to use peroxide it will delay the healing time and dry out your pericing makeing it red and sensitive to touch. i would stop using this and start using dial soap

I got my industrial done about three weeks ago, and in the past days i got these really nasty bumps on my ear! I noticed it when I was changing and my shirt got caught on my earring, (nasty part) There happened to be a little pus coming out the bottom hole & tonight It started bleeding off and on. @hotcheetolovers i've had mine almost two years and that's normal for it to bleed when you get it caught on something because the skin is sensitive near the piercing right after you get it done. the puss and crustyness is normal too. i had all of that soo just clean it 2 or 3 times a day or however many times makes you happy. and you should move it throughout the day so your skin/crusties don't get stuck to it. hope that helps! ;p
@theonlytryshalee yes, h20cean is something u can use. It would be the same thing as soaking ur ear in the sea salt. Use it up to 5 times a day and when ur in the healing process make sure to clean it and not get any crustys in ur hole or it will get infected.
my piercer said, whatever piercing, salt is the best. i cleaned all of my piercings using salt. from tragus to tongue piercing. all good. it's good you shared with everyone the knowledge. :)

I got my industrial done today it didnt hurt one bit. The piercer that did it was an ass really he was when he finished he didnt even try to offer any advice on how to take care of it and avoid infection if i hadnt dodne any research on it and watched this video i waould be lost. Anyway I went to look for the dial soap but they only had the original scent so i dont know if i should use it or what since it the original scented one

Well I just got mine done like three days ago and it only hurts when it went through the top hole and not the bottom. Infact it didn't hurt much at all, it did hurt more than a tongue piercing. I have seven piercings in my other ear including two cartilage and a tragus. @13oscar12 ...the soap off then with a clean cotton ball or q tip I dry it :) I would do that about three times a day for the first couple weeks then work ure way down to twice a day until completely healed
@13oscar12 i would honestly wait a couple hours. When I got mine I cleaned it when I got home warm water and an anti bacterial soap. I can't use dial because I'm allergic so I just use the Softsoap brand NONSENTED! fragrances can lead to irritation due to the chemicals added to make them smelly lol. Hi . Ive had my industrial for about 6 months now .. Everything was going grand but in the last week my ear is literally covered in " krustys " usually its only a small amount but my ear is literally covered when I wake up . The skin has become a little red now .. Ive been using sea salt and warm water to clean it every day ...Can you use too much salt I usually use a good bit and my ear is pretty dry afterwards ..Am i using too much salt do you think .I usually shoer first and then clean it

@HaveAriInBeauty Well, to be honest I would have waited to go to a salon, but since it sounds like you've already been, just be extra vigilant in cleaning it. Be sure not to miss a day. And the sea salt and water should help keep the infection away.

for me it really didnt hurt. it took about 3 weeks before i could sleep on that side without pain. but honestly, if your considering to get it done, but your scared of pain, just do it! for me it was very quick and literally painless! :D
I remember watching this when I first got my industrial done. Now it's perfectly fine took a LONG while but maybe about hmm 5 months. Ya so much care went into that time I thought after 3 months it'll take a year! But no! I was too excited to finally change the bar and now its super easy too do! I got mine on the left side too :P
@audreyCHAOS It really depends on how high of a pain threshold you have. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, and it hurt a bit, but it's pretty quick. I would recommend bringing some ibuprofen with you because that will help with the throbbing afterward, and the swelling.
Ahh I like the piercing. I should get mine done to. I found my helix part hurt more and took ages to heel. However saying that, I got a piercing at the top of my ear v close to my head and that healed and didn't hurt! Must be numb like my brain lol

@prettyladymimi Peroxide isnt really the best thing for 'hypertrophic scars' i had a huge one on the bottom part of mine, i used tea tree and its shrank :)
nice video, i have mine for a year now and i had an infection problem like at week 2 of having it done and i got rid of it with alcohol and q-tips.had to soak it on alcohol then put it back in and clean the holes with q-tips. and it worked for me and havent had any problem with it. now i got a new one on my right ear, is a normal piercing,and im using now a 14g, just to know, could i use the same tech. as u did for this one? is not an industrial is just a normal so dont know if might work thanks

Those who think they have an infection. 1. Do not take out the bar it will help drain the pus. 2.Go to a doc. 3. Make sure they swab the pus and send it to a lab to identify the bacteria. I got my industrial early July followed all the procedures and still got an infection. 1st doc never swabbed it and i got the wrong antibiotic and prednisone(immunosuppressant/anti inflammatory) and made the infection worse. Week later went to another doc. He swabbed it and got me on the right anti-biotic.

i've used rubbing alcohol for all my ear piercings and it worked out fine.... but i just got the industrial piercing yesterday.... and there's no way i'm going to use rubbing alcohol. so i'll try the sea salt and hope it heals correctly :] thanks!

@CasyCatastrophe I got told that to get rid of them, crush up tablet, something like paracetamol or aspirin, so it's a powder then add a bit of water to make a paste then put it on for a bit and just do that.
@CasyCatastrophe applying teat tree oil on the keloids after cleaning them helps them out... I had both my industrials done and the samething happened to me and the tea tree oil helped very much!
this was acutally very helpful. i dont have one, but i'm thinking about it but before i do i wanna get my research done & this was all it, lol. i just have some questions, how long are you supposed to be doing this process?, how do you know for sure all the soap is out?, & are you supposed to rinse out the salt or is it better to not rinse for healing? i know its a lot, but i need to be sure, lol :)

Do you think it's sufficient to put the sea salt into a spray bottle and spray your piercing with it? I do that and then follow it up with applying the foaming dial soap to my piercing with cotton swabs. and then I spray the sea salt solution on it to rinse off the soap. Sound good?

@wildcherryd4l02 No, the pain lasted pretty long for me. Just do your very best to clean it once or twice a day, and also try really hard not to sleep on it. The more you refrain from touching it and sleeping on it, the better it will heal and stop hurting. :)

@WitchRain Little pieces of cotton can come off and get stuck in the hole. That can cause a bad reaction and in some cases can cause you to have to remove the piercing. Yikes!
I really really want one , but am scared senseless. Had a navel ring that I think I screwed up cleaning in the healing process and my body started to reject it. Really liked it, had to take that out, never got the chance to change it out :(. So naturally I'm scared to get anything else. And my job requires a cap , i can imagine bumping it with the cap yikes.

@jandii876 I'm not really sure how to even visualize what you're saying. Honestly though, the first thing I would do is go back to your piercer. They're supposed to help you with after care, and they can probably let you know what your best plan of action would be.
I got mine done about 19 days ago, & it's still pretty swollen. The top part of the piercing on top of my ear has a bump that has gross puss that comes out of it, &it does the same right underneath that part of my ear. I've been cleaning it with Sea Salt Water all the time, & it wasn't this bad until recently. I even put Ice on it to stop the swelling, along with some Tylenol. I don't want to take it out, 'cause I really like it. Help me please!? D:

@13oscar12 ...the soap off then with a clean cotton ball or q tip I dry it :) I would do that about three times a day for the first couple weeks then work ure way down to twice a day until completely healed

@13oscar12 i would honestly wait a couple hours. When I got mine I cleaned it when I got home warm water and an anti bacterial soap. I can't use dial because I'm allergic so I just use the Softsoap brand NONSENTED! fragrances can lead to irritation due to the chemicals added to make them smelly lol. I just wash hands really well lather up in clean hands and massage over ear twist bar move up and down to get rid of soap I drench a cotton ball with warm water and lean over a sink to get all...

Hi . Ive had my industrial for about 6 months now .. Everything was going grand but in the last week my ear is literally covered in " krustys " usually its only a small amount but my ear is literally covered when I wake up . The skin has become a little red now .. Ive been using sea salt and warm water to clean it every day ...Can you use too much salt I usually use a good bit and my ear is pretty dry afterwards ..Am i using too much salt do you think .I usually shoer first and then clean it

@HaveAriInBeauty Well, to be honest I would have waited to go to a salon, but since it sounds like you've already been, just be extra vigilant in cleaning it. Be sure not to miss a day. And the sea salt and water should help keep the infection away.

for me it really didnt hurt. it took about 3 weeks before i could sleep on that side without pain. but honestly, if your considering to get it done, but your scared of pain, just do it! for me it was very quick and literally painless! :D

I remember watching this when I first got my industrial done. Now it's perfectly fine took a LONG while but maybe about hmm 5 months. Ya so much care went into that time I thought after 3 months it'll take a year! But no! I was too excited to finally change the bar and now its super easy too do! I got mine on the left side too :P

@audreyCHAOS It really depends on how high of a pain threshold you have. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, and it hurt a bit, but it's pretty quick. I would recommend bringing some ibuprofen with you because that will help with the throbbing afterward, and the swelling.

Ahh I like the piercing. I should get mine done to. I found my helix part hurt more and took ages to heel. However saying that, I got a piercing at the top of my ear v close to my head and that healed and didn't hurt! Must be numb like my brain lol

nice video, i have mine for a year now and i had an infection problem like at week 2 of having it done and i got rid of it with alcohol and q-tips.had to soak it on alcohol then put it back in and clean the holes with q-tips. and it worked for me and havent had any problem with it. now i got a new one on my right ear, is a normal piercing,and im using now a 14g, just to know, could i use the same tech. as u did for this one? is not an industrial is just a normal so dont know if might work thanks

Those who think they have an infection. 1. Do not take out the bar it will help drain the pus. 2.Go to a doc. 3. Make sure they swab the pus and send it to a lab to identify the bacteria. I got my industrial early July followed all the procedures and still got an infection. 1st doc never swabbed it and i got the wrong antibiotic and prednisone(immunosuppressant/anti inflammatory) and made the infection worse. Week later went to another doc. He swabbed it and got me on the right anti-biotic.

i've used rubbing alcohol for all my ear piercings and it worked out fine.... but i just got the industrial piercing yesterday.... and there's no way i'm going to use rubbing alcohol. so i'll try the sea salt and hope it heals correctly :] thanks!

@CasyCatastrophe I got told that to get rid of them, crush up tablet, something like paracetamol or aspirin, so it's a powder then add a bit of water to make a paste then put it on for a bit and just do that.

Do you think it's sufficient to put the sea salt into a spray bottle and spray your piercing with it? I do that and then follow it up with applying the foaming dial soap to my piercing with cotton swabs. and then I spray the sea salt solution on it to rinse off the soap. Sound good?

@wildcherryd4l02 No, the pain lasted pretty long for me. Just do your very best to clean it once or twice a day, and also try really hard not to sleep on it. The more you refrain from touching it and sleeping on it, the better it will heal and stop hurting. :)

@WitchRain Little pieces of cotton can come off and get stuck in the hole. That can cause a bad reaction and in some cases can cause you to have to remove the piercing. Yikes!

I really really want one , but am scared senseless. Had a navel ring that I think I screwed up cleaning in the healing process and my body started to reject it. Really liked it, had to take that out, never got the chance to change it out :(. So naturally I'm scared to get anything else. And my job requires a cap , i can imagine bumping it with the cap yikes.

@jandii876 I'm not really sure how to even visualize what you're saying. Honestly though, the first thing I would do is go back to your piercer. They're supposed to help you with after care, and they can probably let you know what your best plan of action would be.

I got mine done about 19 days ago, & it's still pretty swollen. The top part of the piercing on top of my ear has a bump that has gross puss that comes out of it, &it does the same right underneath that part of my ear. I've been cleaning it with Sea Salt Water all the time, & it wasn't this bad until recently. I even put Ice on it to stop the swelling, along with some Tylenol. I don't want to take it out, 'cause I really like it. Help me please!? D:
