ya this is called tow in surfing you aren't on a regular board your feet are in straps so you don't fall off. there is no ankle strap. its really fun but if you mess up a little you could get badly hurt

okay a short board to you can be a long board to some people it depends on your size i ride a 6.5 short board for me was a long board to me but i grew its just that they grew into there boards and they have a feeling for them instead of just buying another long board use your old one, or at least thats what i do.

from my experince shortboarders are very agro and swear a ton, while longboarders are very layed back and even share their waves with other surfers!
