You actually need just a touch of smarts to get this show; it helps if you were a child of the 80's, as well, though not vital. Anyway, this was great stuff, in the vein of Police Squad. Sledge Hammer was one of my most favorite shows on TV back then. I became a David Rasche fan because of how good and funny he played this character. Since its cancelation, I've been waiting for a 3rd season or another show of Rasche. I still have to buy the DVD, though. Thanks a lot for posting

My favorite moment -- the jewelry store robbery. He tells the sketch artist what the thief looked like, telling him many details. When the drawing is finally turned around to the camera, it's a guy in a ski mask.

Almost as good as Get Smart or Police Squad -- but never quite as good.

I modeled my entire life after Sledge Hammer. Cried when I unintentionally taped over my precious VHS recording of the show. Thank "gun" for the DVD release!

This show is a sad proof of how rare it is in the television for someone to hire top writers and actors and let them just do their job.
