  • Thanks, I just started a gym and wanted to use it but didn't want to look like any idiot because I didn't know how.

  • im 14 and starting to get more in shape and i started going on this for like 5 minutes cause thats all i could take, that was like a month ago and now i can go on this for 20 mins without stopping and i usally go on this like 5-6 times a week :) this is the most ive been in shape my whole life and im staying in shape :D

  • Tell me what I don't know waste of time you didn't show us how to use an elliptical machine, as in legs movement, breathing, etc. Useless

  • Cont 2

How are ellipticals different than a threadmill? With a TM you turn in on and the belt starts up FORCING you to start walking/jogging/running depending on speed. With an ellptical YOU control the pace and stride by how much pressure you apply to the fool petals. Most have arm movable handles witch gives your upper body a workout at the same time. A few models incorporate a twisting motion that also works your abs.

  • Cont 1

Most any ellipitical comes with preset programs that will automatically change the inclilne, resistance and most monitor your heart rate (either by a wireless chest strap or grapping the handles that monitors HR and adjusts automatically. You can't simply jump on for 5-10 minutes and expect results. You should have somewhere between 20-60 minutes a workout built up over time to get results.

  • Absolutely! An elliptical has far less strain on joints and can if done at a high enough incline and resistance setting also burn more fat and in less time than using a old fashioned threadmill which to be honest is just as hard on joints, especially knees as running outdoors. Most any gym has decent quality ellipticals, but the home market unless you spend at least about $1,000 is full of junk. So try out before buying.

  • Do these put less stress on your joints compared to running and still burn around the same amount?

  • your supposed to keep your feet FLAT on it!!

  • The guy behind her is the one using this machine correctly.

  • does this make ur legs skinnier ?!

  • @TheP3Forever It tones them up and burns fat! So yes.

  • does this work off di belly as well

  • In my fitness center they told me to keep the foot on the pedal all the time and not to lift the back of it. Is this correct?

  • @KickDownDoors nice how you go from different fitness videos that have black people demonstrating exercises and make racial/ignorant posts about them. What a piece of shit.BLOCKED!

  • LMAO @ Magna101

  • nice ass!!

  • I'd rather run outside but I sprained my ankle so now Im friggin watching how to use an Elliptical machine lmao

  • Bah, I love the elliptical, but it hurts the balls of my feet a lot >:(

  • @KayKay114 it's probably because the resistance is up to high and you are straining to push the pedals...I had the same problem. Try lower the resistance and see if that helps

  • I really really hate treadmills; Whenever I'm on one, I get bored or tired and stop after about 15 minutes but my elliptical machine/cross trainer - I love. just put on a dvd or watch tv, I can be on this thing for hours.

  • @Thisismytrollingface i agree i have a treadmill in my basement and it gets really boring. i love the elliptical

  • I had to do this for 20 minutes on PE class for the first time and it was so tiring!

  • I just used the elliptical machine in my apartment complex fitness center. I couldn't make it but 8 minutes on that mo-fo. But it will not defeat me! I will go back on Thursday night and try again. I could hardly stagger home after that 8 minutes.

  • how are people confused by an elliptical?

  • @LouTheMetalhead I watched this video cause I had no clue how to use one lol

  • this told me absolutely nothing. I think i know that moving will start the machine and stopping with stop it... I was looking for a bit more information other than how to start and stop the machine...

  • i just got one for 200 bucks, its basic but its got a tension strap thats adjustable as well as fine tuning, and a calorie/time/speed and distance monitor.. i dont know how accurate it is, but just 10 mins on it feels better than a 1 hour walk! i love it!

  • My sister lost 70 pounds on an elliptical. don't know how she did it ;D I can hardly last a minute on that machine.

  • Comment removed

  • @joepescifromcasino.....did it help you lose weight if that's what you were going for?

  • I hate commercials on youtube...

  • GOD she is thick

  • @abstrakt237 Wtf? No she isn't?

  • lol they had a damn McDonalds ad right before they started the video...

  • LOL!!!!

  • This is more informative than Ms Baker's video which was lacking but what about ther regular EFX 546 or 546i? In my video I show you on the EFX 546 version 1 model. This in more of the stepper-type instead of the circular motion in which I found is the more popular type of elliptical. 5 Stars to this video. I do admit

  • Come here my Ebony Princess.......

  • if someone is baffled before using an elliptical, that is sad.

  • They probably should have a video of the person on the thing, and not just show the upper body swaying up and down....it's a video after all, why not show the whole body on the thing?

  • i have the elliptial at home.i don't have tv on top of my ellitpcial.when i used it i listen to my ipod or psp system.keep me going..

  • i use the elliptical 45mins a day 7 days a week and its gotten me into the best shape of my life

  • How many weeks? Just curious. Also what shape are you in now?

  • I did it for about 1.5 years, but I don't do it anymore I just go on every now and then because I am not worried about my image just maintaining my diet and moving so much which I already do is going to keep me the same basically, but I am very lean, 6ft 2, 155 pounds, I'm just starting to do weight training now so I could stay light for jumping and running because I play a lot of basketball and floor hockey

  • but yeah for using the elliptical just get some good sounding music, personally I like techno or trance or hip hop techno/trance mixes, and just go to lie the YMCA or anywhere their is a high volume amount of people because atmosphere is something I consider to keep me motivated, and yeah just don't eat much besides what you need, for example my breakfast is plain yogurt with strawberries banana and almonds, lunch chicken sandwich(not cold cuts), Dinner like a stew or rice and fish beans and veg

  • Holy Crap Batman! 155 and 6'2" - Youre skinny as a rail!!!! Good at ya mate!

  • @joepescifromcasino

    Really 45 mins..!! coool

do u mind if i ask u ur diet!!

  • @Vickramjason breakfast= plain yogurt with fruit(usually a banana+rasberries+blueberries) and some Kashi cereal, lunch usually very light, chicken sandwich(not cold cuts) or tuna then work(my occupation is a environment restoration technician) so I get a lot of movement, then to finish the day a hardy stew or another chicken sandwich, but I pack the protein in that final meal, then go workout at the YMCA like 5mins from where I live, btw I do my elliptical workout in the early morning

  • @joepescifromcasino thats really good thats what i am going to start doing!

  • the first time i got on one, i almost died! it kicked my ass, and i had jello legs forever!

  • lol no joke, I'm just starting right now (way fat and out of shape) and I can only go 3-4 minutes without stopping for a breather.

  • oh sweet jesus.

    i hope you get fit.

    good luck

  • I'm fat, OLD, and out of shape, and I went 12 minutes my first time. Don't push too hard! I was doing about 40 rpm. Duration is more important than exertion.

  • It's a good start. Keep at it....

  • Thanks! I posted that comment 5 months ago, I can easily do 30 minutes now (most I've tried), and I've lost about 37 pounds since then. Mostly from eating healthier though, I still don't exercise as much as I should.

  • That's real good. I need to start using an elliptical....

    Keep it up.

  • lol....w u t
