Every exposure to ionizing radiation increases health risks.. A doctor's responsibility is to teach us this and to reduce our exposure. First we face fallout from weapons testing. More than 2000 explosions during the so called cold war. Now it's the 'peaceful' atom with nuclear power plants releasing so called 'acceptable' levels of radiation on a daily basis as part of routine operations. See it. Google '6 mile plume maps'. Is it OK to expose future generations to radioactive pollution?

@1dnd2dnd3and4 Coal power plants release more radiation than nuclear power plants due to the fact that coal contains trace amounts of radioactive material which is then burned and released into the atmosphere. That said, the amount of radiation released by either is very small; anyone who recieves an X-ray at a hospital will have much more exposure than someone who lives near a coal or nuclear plant.

This doctor deserves to get his license revoked, biased opinions about nuclear power, btw saying "we have no idea to do with the waste" makes your argument invalid because we are cleaning the waste, also your use of the word "we" is a stretch

Patterson is playing on the word "safe". Nothing is absolutely safe (zero risk). Going to the hospital isn't absolutely safe...you could get an infection, be given the wrong medication, you might get too much radiation, etc. Why isn't Patterson denouncing hospitals? Because he is an anti-nuclear propagandist, Low level radiation exposure isn't absolutely safe, but it is relatively safe. Patterson should be more socially responsible.
