I agree with you. I started watching GH in the late 90's, so the Luke/Laura heyday was before my time. I hear people say all the time that Luke and Laura are the greatest soap couple ever, that it was a beautiful love story, etc. However, from the scenes I've seen, Luke seemed creepily and unhealthily obsessed with her, and their love seems very dysfunctional. And it really seems to idealize rape, which creeps me out.
i feel good when i read you, i see that you understand my point. exactly, that could give a wrong idea to some fragile people, they could idealize things like that/think its fine/cool to try. ( i have dreamed about many things seen in soap operas lol, i wanted them so much, and some of them have come true.looks creepy i know lol.). maybe, many other people think like us, so i respect the show but i like to think this way..thanx.
@semiEuphoria You have to watch the whole GH Luke and Laura 1979 1980 playlist to understand how it all evolved from obsession to love on Luke's part and teenage feelings to love on Laura's part. It was an incredible story with ups and downs and intrigue and sincere emotion of all kinds and depths. It was never about a one night stand or the rape.
Luke never needed to dust did he, it a wonder any furniture was still standing. He is crazy about that woman, to the brink of obsession. Ah..... Love in the afternoon.....
Look at Laura when Luke is with that other girl. Now that's jealousy!
