Tommy edwards died in '69. He was a great talent. His albums are available on cds and well worth looking for, His big hit, "It's All in the Game" was written by the Vice-president under Coolidge, Charles Dawes. "Melancholy Baby" and It'sOnly the Good Times I Remember" are also fabulous.
PaulJamesVocalist thank you for the upload, "Stardust" was my late Mom's favorite tune and I would have loved to have had her listen to the incomparable Tommy E. warbling it, for #1 she would have thoroughly enjoyed it, #2 I loved anything that Tommy sang, "It's All In The Game" is still quite possibly my all time By God favorite tune! Thanks as well, as always to You Tube for the space, kudos to PJVocalist for the nice pix and the time taken for the upload, and of course: ROCK ON SHINDIGGERS!
That's just the way it goes, there is lots of unrecognised talent out there past and present. There is another singer out there I had not heard of before but, in my opinion, is up there among the greats. Nancy Wilson
Thanks 44skins for your comments. It does seem many great singers from this era have been forgotten about. I don't think Tommy ever really got the recognition I feel he deserves even during his lifetime. It is about time the late 50's early 60's era came back into vogue and brought the great names of the era back into peoples minds.
I would just like to know why,why has Tommy Edwards been forgotten! I have not heard of his name in so long it's just terrible! I have never understood why some people are remembered while other's,often the greater and classier one's are just forgotten! I just never got that!! Thank's for this song!
@44skins We haven't forgotten him! :) And besides-every once in a while "All in the Game" is played somewhere on the radio-or even in a movie-and a whole new generation of fans falls in love with this great singer. I happen to be one of them. I heard Tommy's "Morningside of the Mountain" in my youth on an 'Oldies' station and I've been a fan ever since. :)
Tommy Edwards was born on this date in 1922... {Feb. 17th}
Sadly, Mr. Edwards passed away on October 22nd, 1969... R.I.P.

Wow! This is the first time I ever heard him sing this song. And, once again, he doesn't disappoint. What a classy style.
Sir Tommy strikes again! :)

I sat listening to this as the sun went down with a glass of Martini, it was pure bliss...such a smooth, soft, soothing voice has Tommy Edwards.

Brook Benton is another underrated singer from the same era as Tommy. Give him a listen. Smooth as silk!

And, why is this entry entitled "Nat King Cole Song" ???? Hoagy would turn over in...never mind.
