sorry but i hate bikers who lean on the yellow line around a blind corner. Seriously my bumper probably wont taste too good so just keep it a little more outside
At least these guys aren't driving like idiots, the dragon is full of morons in cars and on bikes passing on the double yellow in blind curves.
I don't see what's so special about the dragon either, I live in Asheville, NC and we have roads like that every where... I guess it's good all the morons are driving in Tennessee rather than in front of my house in NC.
LoveYourMonsterMusic Never rode on "The dragon" But it does not look so special, There maybe more curves in a short distance. But for the most part the curves are fairly flat. So I know what your saying, The mountains of TN, NC/VA..There are many roads like this, and less crowded. They maybe shorter, Or not ? But there are many roads with more challenging curves. Must be like that where you live. I live in Green county, TN right over the mountain from Asheville, NC. Ride safe, yl
You do have to stay in your lane but there is still an apex.He went into the corner in the middle of the lane.if you pause it at right at 2:04,2:05.He should have been more to the left closer to the yellow. Then he would have had more choices for the exit.
I ride the dragon twice a year and have for the past five years this happens alot when you exceed your limits and I have seen some crazy people until you ride the dragon You won't understand
I'v enoticed that whoever it is defending these guys is taking it very personal. Much like women do. My point is this, I don't give a rat's fart if these guys or any other guys wreck their bikes all day long. If you want to go to a closed course where no one else's innocent life is at stake, knock yourself out. What happens when this guy or all of the guys and girls like him take a right hander and end up going high side through someone's windsheil and wiping out a family? The dragon is public.
I've been to the gap a couple times now as a beginner rider and I can tell that this guy wasn't doing anything stupid aside from reaching his limit. Like people mentioned before the riding position was all wrong and he leaned the bike too much. It happens. Glad he is ok and better luck next time. Learn your lesson. He wasn't riding crazy.
Not only was he leaning too much... he braked in an extremely hard lean. I drive recklessly at times, but damn mad, I do it in familiar areas where I at least have the boost in chance do to familiarity of the road. If you don't run this road every single day, you don't know it well enough to ride like that. And I know it gets said often, but don't do stuff like that in public areas where you don't have a clue what's on the other corner.
Help you?! Nah fuck that someone else can, I mean I ran u over, prolly fell bc I was too close pushing ur limits. I mean I'm here for the video and hate to say this but it got better when I ran u over. I mean c'mon, you see that? Haha that's me hitting u wit my bike! I'll play it again.... Again.... Again.... Lol
@r6andmonstercrasher just so you would ask... I dont care how good you are you should never follow somebody that close unless your on a track day on a track
Get the upper part of your body of the bike, not just the lower. He is all twisted up. Butt off, but his chest is over the tank, needs to be parallel with tank. I learned the hard way also. :)
to much lean ... pedal touch the ground and made the back tire "go light" ... no contact equals a slide out ... good gear is AWESOME! could have been alot worse
gotta love that ending "gonna be a hell of a video buddy" - it's good that everyone was basically ok and that people stopped to help with some "oh shit"
Didn't like his body position going into the turn. Looks like he was fighting the bike. Get those shoulders into the turn & your head is waaay too over the top!! Glad he's okay tho. Unfortunately, that's what happens when you want to play, you pay sometimes!!!
Oh you CRAZY kids!!! Do you compete in races professionally? If not perhaps you should. Stay as safe as you can while you are on the edge (may the force be with you)!
Sh!t happens Epi; live to ride another day bro. We all make mistakes; just be glad it was a low side. I'm sure the camera guy learned not to ride so close. Great footage 5X.
Sorry Epi but you cant ride for shit. Atrocious use of the available road, too much line clippin, wank body position (if any) and who the fuck hits the anchors mid sweep? Fella, let your bike run through bends and stick yer head where you want it to go, its more capable than you are so trust it. Dont squid dude.
lol i dont beleive he was braking.... went to fast so had to lean in more till his peg hit and lifted the tire off a bit there loss of grip and yeah, next time dont be following so close eh?
u need to get ur knee out more... so u can tell how far the bike is over. if u had ur knee all the way out u would not have crashed!! same thing happened to me when i first started riding.
This accident could v been avoided if the first rider knew how to hang in turns. Notice how he only hangs his ass out while hes shoulders and head stay in the middel. The result is that you dont have awareness on how far you van lean and eventually lean to far like this guy. always keep your head and shoulders pointed were you want to go. It will tell you much more about how much angle you got left and gives you better oversight in cornering.
thats not target fixation...he was too close to him....he had less then a second from fall to funning him over...target fixation is the dude that runs off the road to avoid the truck in his lane ...
holy shit what a squid !!! where the hell did you learn to ride need to get your lines straight ...glad i was not there that day had i been behind u and seen this would have laughed your ass out once i made sure u were ok of course

A way to tell someone is riding over their head is to observe where they are braking or generally slowing. Try slowing the bike before you turn it in, to a speed that allows you to be on the throttle, at least a bit for the rest of the curve.
This rider also slides their rear off the seat in corners with his upper body over the centerline of the bike and his helmet between the grips.
As he goes down you can see him pulling on the bars, butt off the seat, and still on the brakes.
Funny. I got a ticket for 30 over, right where you crashed. That was really nice of that other rider. A perfect example of how we need to stick together.
Perfect example of how sometimes us riders have no control over over the dangers of the road. A few pebbles or a bit of unseen oil and you're down. Shit happens and sometimes it happens hard!
Don't stress it imhockeygirl. Just take it easy and ride at the pace your comfortable with. Confidence comes from experiance. Look around for a riders forum thats local to you, and you will find that the riding community is really helpful and supportive. :)
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
It's too bad you assholes didn't get killed. Bikers loose more and more respect for other drivers and the rules of the road every day. When will you learn that public streets are not your playground. Hope you die of stupidity soon.
ok he had a spin out ok dum ass he wasent raceing thought it that reg speed for a conner and i could have went thought the same conner on my VStar that a fucking bagger bike and been ok and safe to make it and im only 15and just started riding last year ok and it DRIVER that lose respect for bike so next time ur on the road look out for us cuz 90# of the time it cars that make a biker crash and 5% of crash are from roads having rocks or other shit on and the last 5% is from the bad bikers
did he go to slow for the turn or did he lean in on it to much? Or both? (I'm getting one so I need to know what NOT to do) Please don't say don't get one :)
search youtube for "MCN knee down" and you'll get some really good pointers on how to hang off the bike so you don't have to lean it so much. By following good form, your legs will get much stronger and you'll have plenty of warning and feedback before it's too late.
The other bike was following a little too close and unfortunately, target fixated on the fallen rider ... therefore running him over.
It's a common mistake that we all need to work on.
Low side fall, kinda hard to see, but I think he didn't lean off enough, and leaned his bike over too far, scraped a peg, and hit the rear brake. It could have been alot worse, and the worst part is it looks like they were taking it fairly easy around most of those corners.
Happens to the best of us, watch your following distance and don't push it too hard on unfamiliar roads, be doubly cautious on your own backyard stretch. It's easy to get complacent, a touch of gravel, some fuel on the road..
I'm looking for some good gear just for this reason, hot or not hot better than road rash. I've seen what the road can do to a person, still not going to keep me off the bike though :)
u are WAAAAY to rough on ur bike in the corners, u gt confidence in coners which is good. Maybe u shoudl get lessons. not in a harsh way, but u gta agree, it would help
yeh great. nothing like being run over my your mate who is tailgating you. great work

I saw the break light.Like he hit the rear break and low sided.

Little too close to your buddy there eh?
HookedOnChron1cs 3 years ago
1. Front rider should hang off en scrape his knee, not his footpegs.
2. Second rider should keep looking where he wants to go. You could have finished the curve without driving over your buddie(s arm?).
3. A well, everbody's okay! Ride on!!!!

That's why I'll never ride a bike. Just a bit of skid when leaning and the party is over, chances to recover are virtually nil.
A perfect opportunity to skid under the wheels of an oncomming lorry then.

Way to follow to close.....

Following too close? Looked like he had plenty of room to me. Get out to the track and rub tires with some guys. ;)

imhockeygirl 3 years ago
Don't stress it imhockeygirl. Just take it easy and ride at the pace your comfortable with. Confidence comes from experiance. Look around for a riders forum thats local to you, and you will find that the riding community is really helpful and supportive. :)

Haha. The curves are what riding is all about.

if people would learn how to drive on the Dragon, we wouldn't have accidents like this.
gritsgirl04 3 years ago
Yeah, professional never wreck huh. Additionally, it's "ride" the dragon, not drive. Ahh the brilliance!

I hear him calling your name then, "Oh shit!"
Lol.

HistoryMajor7 3 years ago
search youtube for "MCN knee down" and you'll get some really good pointers on how to hang off the bike so you don't have to lean it so much. By following good form, your legs will get much stronger and you'll have plenty of warning and feedback before it's too late.
The other bike was following a little too close and unfortunately, target fixated on the fallen rider ... therefore running him over.
It's a common mistake that we all need to work on.
Ride safe.

thanks I'll check out that MCN knee down
HistoryMajor7 3 years ago
he whent to low and jsut lost grip of the tires
ktmrider19x 3 years ago
he dident lean enough and he was a little too low in the turn a lil higher and him might have mad it
metalflame420 3 years ago

HistoryMajor7 3 years ago
u are WAAAAY to rough on ur bike in the corners, u gt confidence in coners which is good. Maybe u shoudl get lessons. not in a harsh way, but u gta agree, it would help
