because it's done in one take live, and steely dan does so much mixing in the studio they have the luxury of cutting together the best takes. In the past they didn't tour a lot because of that reason. Did albums and released those, and just collected the royalties. I'm not knocking it. Hell, Steely Dan is one of my favorite bands!
