@kaiseradrian13 The cops reported the wrong thing to the commanders and when 1 tells the others that we had a permit, they ignore it. The ability of of the parade organizer to abridge anyone's 1st amendment rights on an American street, subsidized with public servants, has been stopped.
It doesn't matter if this protest was legal or not, it was excessive force when one considers the non-threatening nature of the protesters. Civil disobedience (if that was even the case here) does not need to be met with any form of violence in 99% of cases.
The appropriateness of the protest doesn't matter, if there's no threat there should be no violence.
Finally, the fact that the government has so much power over peaceful protest is a disgrace. Gov't can't put protesters in a box.
This shit was inexcusable.I live in C. Springs and it's a god thing I wasn't there to see this because cop or no,I'd ust someones fucking head for what they did to that poor old lady.
Wow- are you drunker than I am? I've been drinkin' all morning, and I can still freakin' type. What the hell? No one is bothered by PEACEABLE ASSEMBLY of CITIZENS who, if I got it right, HAD THE FREAKIN' PERMIT! Remember west coast treehuggers having MACE RUBBED INTO THEIR EYES?? remember a court declaring that heinous act JUSTIFIED? So when yer granmama gets pitched to the curb, bitch to no one but yerself... bitch.
The time will come and is already here when we will see war on our own soil. Then you'll come to know what it truly means to be appreciative of the efforts of those who give they're all for an ungrateful people like you. I'm willing to bet you'll run rather than stand like the cowards you are (crying over skinned knees) and leave the fighting and dieing for that which we love so dearly to others. That which I speak of is freedom and it is a gift that is given to us by the blood of others.
The good news is ALL charges have been dropped for the remaining 2 accused, Elizabeth and Eric. The prosecutor claims to have a case, but blames the jury system for the lack of conviction, so dismissed all charges.
Brutality? Do you even know what brutal means? This was an organized event, all participants were required to sign up beforehand. It was a parade, fools, a parade. Do you want parades to be filled with signs of protest? The purpose of a parade is to have fun, enjoy life and forget for a few moments about the bad things we deal with in life. Do you really want parades to become a stage for political messages, rallies, protests, etc. I sure don't. Colorado, the last place I will ever live.
I agree though I'm not much for the war but a parade is for fun. Boulder, Co is where you want to avoid my girlfriend lived there for 5 years and they even protested in front of Mcdonals for using paper bags once
@millenniumchildrockI know. Nothing more annoying than people who follow the law and government to the tee, in everything, because they can't develop thoughts on their own. They need rules, and laws, and a government to guide their every action, and the moment someone steps out of the system to protest peace and an open mind, something the government doesn't want you protesting, they freak out. Sad...
you do not have the right to interfere with others.your constitutional rights are vague, then there are state laws, then there are city ordinances, what they did was a crime and they should have been beaten for it. try that in Denver and see what you get.
colorado springs cops and city council do not appreciate its citizens at all. it is like a police state around here. they are evil to the people in every aspect. even speedtraps to make revenue for the city council to being arrogrant to having checkpoints to make money on the weekends. cspd is out of control. it is embarassing for the city and for the people who live here..
Use to live in the Springs area. You were always called by the marketeers to donate money to the police. And the one year we chose not to, "they" (whtftw) came to our door giving us "another chance to donate" -- scarey.
Here in the usa. passed into law july 17th. since congress is too weak-kneed to stand up and do the right thing, perhaps it will be left to we the people American People!
This country has gone to hell, for me it's never ever vote for the Nazi republican party again in my life. Also no more CFR=council foreign relations who ceo's running the government, they're both democrate and republican. Dennis Kucinich, Mike Gravel, Ron Paul are the only worthy candidates the rest need to be voted out of office and get honest candidate with courage to run for office.

the helmets they are wearing make them look just like the stormtroopers they are

and also, i have to express sadness that the group had to watch while the police went ahead with their abuses
.
its a true sign of a sick country when the authorities can abuse citizens in public, then if the public interferes they too get arrested [lawfully]
Reggieworth 1 year ago
So they have a permit(which they don't need to freely assemble and speak), and they get brutally abused and injured and put into cages.
When do charges get filed against their assailants?

Honestly I'm not surprised wheather thier protest was a crime or not. The Colorado Springs police have always been brutal and unlawful.

Don't donate money to the Police Departments ever again in any country, they want a military complex to control people to become slaves.
