  • Argh! How is it that a short, hobbit-like, curly haired, LOTR-obsessed girl from Auckland missed out on the only opportunity for an extra I am ever likely to want or get?

I'm looking forward to seeing the film so much.

  • I've been to Hobbiton it was off the fucking hook

  • I want to visit New Zealand now more than ever!!!

  • i can`t wait for this...i`m counting seconds until The hobbit

  • iwouild follow Peter Jackson to the end, this man is a living legend.

  • I'm glad to see Elijah and Ian and just as good friends as they are in the film. awesome. and to be reunited in such a magical place for such magical films...

these two films are gping to be the best in history..im buyin a collectors edition if theres even one and going to watch it five times or ten in threarers, dont care if i have to go alone

  • did anyone see how big that pig was?

  • @ole78aol that's the point- they've had to get extra-large pigs from farmers to make the hobbits seem small.

  • Ahhh My dear Frodo its been to long.

11 years... An you haven't aged a day... Hmmmmmm curious.

  • @Sartinalexander so true :))

  • I've been to matamata before and it's stunningly beautiful, was on the trip to taupo and the glow worm caves, the months I spent living and traveling around New Zealand... Priceless

  • 6:20 what a moment :)

  • @Thesortvokter true but the idea of cinema without ol jacko is chilling....hes the one director to rule them all

  • I eagerly await Production Video #6.

  • Must. Have. Part. Six.

  • Very early in the new year has already passed! :P

  • These production videos are good because it gives you some insight on how much work people actually put into this World of Dreams. Personally, I'd love to be standing there on set. That would be a privilege like no other. To act in the such a profound film, is something in my World of Dreams. When I lay in bed at night and listen to the songs of LOTR, it makes it feel real. Like it's more then just a film.

  • holy shit he got fat again!

  • people that are doing this movie are amazing and i would like to thank them for what they are doing for us. AMAZING !!!

  • I've been watching this all day over and over, it's just do amazing to watch, I love seeing hobbiton town, can not waitttttttttt till part 2 which if he Peter said early new year, im hoping by next week. I didn't even know he put out the 5th blog till today.

  • lord of the what?

  • C'moooooon when is the next one coming out... PJ said early in the new year :(

  • "But not that scissor lift up there... that stays!"

  • I hope by saying "very early" the 6th production video will be out this month and not March or something.

  • Was that Andy, being 2nd unit director?

  • @maxthue Yes! At 2:54

  • Elijah Wood is 30 years old? Wow!

  • @Jerothan Haha, yeah, that was my reaction as well. "Goddammit, what??" When I'm 30 I'll certainly be a rancid old raisin. Damn you Elijah, you fountain of youth-drinking mother'ucka, you.

  • When is part 6 coming out? Can't...wait...any...longerrr

  • I never again want to hear peter jackson say the word "retire" ....EVER

  • @JamieCFurbo It was meant to be that he would direct the Hobbit..

  • Dang this is kinda worrisome. Only a couple months of shooting and PJ is already rather large again and his hair is graying. If he keeps this up he won't be around long enough to film The Silmarillion

  • I'm wondering if PJ is going to appear in the movies like he did in the LOTR trilogy. Will the tradition continue?

  • Peter Jackson seems like one of the most fun people to be aquainted with, ever. The cast & crew of The Hobbit are lucky folks indeed.

  • Would love 2 go & visit there would be amazing!. ;)

  • New Zealand... What else?

  • andy serkis is the man!

  • I orgasmed continuously for 12 minutes.

  • 6:20-6:25 HOLY MOTHER!

  • Peter Jackson, you're an absolute god!

  • it's going to be a long hour reading everybody's name in the credits...

  • Is Peter Jackson gaining weight again? Because he's starting to look more and more like PJ from the Lord of the Rings time. :) A little more grey, but otherwise unchanged! <3

  • Huge smile on my face from this stuff. I can't believe we have to wait almost a year for part one. I guess I should get back to work on that time machine...

  • whats the music from 0:00 to 0:17?

  • Now that is a sight I want to see when i wake up in the morning at 06:18 :D!

  • I want to live in Hobbiton so badly...

  • Movie doesnt deserve to be on torrent sites

  • I just a couple of short hours, it will be 2012 - the countdown begins!!!

Happy New Year Peter and to all working on The Hobbit!

  • Andy Serkis skipping through the flowers at 2:58 XDD <3

  • "maybe I smoked a little too much of this now" <3 you andy.! awesome!

  • escaped from wood-elf at the beginning

  • ... yours, but i know it is your heart and soul that makes you truly spectacler and heart melting... I wish that one day i may be able to ve in The Hobbit befor time runs out. I cant wait for The Hobbit to come out, but something, a coal, still burns deep in my heart that i will ve able to be in it befor the end. But, j know tgere will neverbreally ve no end. Forever, LOTR and The Hobbit will live on forever and ever. There is truly no other work of art that could top these off.

  • Fell in love with The Shire... Still falling in love... Always will be falling in love...... I wish so badly that i was in this beutiful truly amazing amazing work of art. Its hard though becouse i live in the US and have parents who would never let me run off to New Zealand for a while to be in a movie and miss months of school.... I love u Peter. I love u Elijah! By the way, Elijah, with tour Frodo hair, u look as u did as a teenager.i dont know if youl ever loose that heart meltingnface of y

  • Can't believe Elijah Wood is 30! He still has a baby face!

  • 1 person is cheering for Smaug

  • the title "There and Back Again" also refers to Peter Jackson's weightloss and then back to fat again lol

  • Scotch, Tequila, and Jager. That woman must be Canadian.

  • martin is made of kittens

  • If you watch these from the beginning you can see Peter Jackson slowly put weight back on.

  • @anawesomerobot well i doubt hes getting much exercise working on these movies =p.

  • merry christmas to everyone out there, hope your holidays were awesome!

  • I wish I could be a part of this film! It looks like so much fun.

  • merry christmas to Tolkien fans, Peter Jackson fans, and "The Hobbit" crew from Indonesia :)

  • Amazing, I can't bloody wait for this movie! New Zealand looks incredible too.. and I laughed hard when the put the Days of Christmas music in the background of the guy talking about how many animals there were.

  • when the door slowly opened at 6:20 i held my breath, i felt like i'm in shire already...

  • Is it just me, or do these seem like some of the nicest people to have ever worked on a movie?

  • Peter Jackson! Merry Xmas to you and the Crew. Great Job. Cant wait to see your movie!

  • wow! beautiful.

  • I feel old, I can't believe Elijah Wood was 19 on TLotR and now he is 30 -.-

  • I want to live in Hobbiton...

  • PJ gained weight again, thats too bad. Maybe he should do weight loss again like when he was working on lotr.

  • I wish someone started created Hobiton villages around the world, you actually pay to live there...I mean who wouldn't want to live in a place like that? The fresh air, the stunning views, the connection with nature...pure bliss imo :)

  • @TemperatureIndicator There are places similar to Hobbiton in real world. Search pics of 'Priorat (Spain)'. All are small towns in the middle of mountains and forests. I live in one of this towns (Cornudella de Montsant) and I can (luckly) enjoy the fresh air, the views, the nature, etc. It's true that everytime there are more people and the towns are growing, but compared with nowadays cities this is much better.

  • @Delospinyos I kinda figured there are places similar. I've cycled from the bottom of England to the top of Scotland and I found a ton of villages and what not but I was thinking of actual Hobbiton villages, if I had a choice between a village and Hobbiton, it'd be Hobbiton hands-down.

  • @TemperatureIndicator Dude, thats EXACTLY what I was thinking of :D

  • @Monokk3li I wish more people thought that, then maybe it might be created. I wouldn't mind helping create such a thing...I'd paint the doors :)

  • My dream design job!

  • @ArchTenshi66 Build it, I'll assess it by living in it for 6 months :)

  • @TemperatureIndicator I am in full agreement. They need places like this. It would do extremely well. Even if you aren't a huge Hobbit fan, being in nature alone is nice.

  • @Sallyallie89 I rode my bike from Lands End to John O'Groats in October and I saw so much nature and beauty. It would be a pity if they don't create something like this because I think we all rely too much on technology and such at times.

  • I want to ho to hobbiton!!! I'd play for free! I'd even pay to be there! :D

  • Good background music: Remixes of The Life Aquatic soundtrack "Ping Island-Lightning Strike Rescue Op" and "Paco De Lucia - La Nina de Puerta Oscura"

  • I'm always amazed at both how incredibly talented & professional Peter Jackson is, yet how level headed he's managed to remain.

  • 6:15 he got very similar voice to liam neeson O.o

  • Role on the next Production video. :))

  • Was I the only one who though that the "Gaffer" at 2:24 would make a pretty good Gaffer Gamgee?

  • Jesus fuck.. what the hell is the budget for this movie?

    500 Millon?

  • @Nerxtastic Around that, yes.

  • @Nerxtastic production costs not that high in the nz....and they also got huge tax breaks

  • @Nerxtastic Wouldn't be the most that's been spent on a film.

  • @Nerxtastic ye

  • Comment removed
