  • L.A.? No.

    Why?

  • @GOMENTE

I have been learning some of your Jazz moves and have deep ties in the music industry here in Los Angeles.

If you were to e-mail me at Bluestunes@me.com I could elaborate...

  • Hello,

By chance do you reside in the L.A. area?

    Best

    Alex

  • Nice Gibson! I agree - your yodel is great.

  • Yodel? LOL Thank you :-)

  • May I know the exact bartolini jazz pickups you used? Thanks!

  • Hi.

Bartolini sells only 1 type of Jazz gtr PU.

You can find it on some guitar parts stores.

It is still available for purchasing.

No model code. Just named JAZZ GUITAR PICKUP,maybe.

Please search this name on website.

    Thanks.

  • @GOMENTE Bartolini 5J. This is such a great sound with the both blended. Nice work.

  • Yes!

That's what I listen when I'm listening good tunes.

5 stars (but I swear I'd give it 10 at least if i could)!

  • Thanks.

I love old style tunes like this, too.

  • What a treat that was to listen to. Thanks!

  • Hi.

Last September,I went to Dallas and Laredo.

I love hot spicy Tex Mex foods there:-)

I may go again this year. Thank you.

  • Excellent.

  • Thanks.

    Your Yodel is great!!

  • Thanks also.

  • Superb playing. I'm searching for youtube examples of the Grant Green L7 setup (L7 with p90s and flats...) but it's hard to find !

  • P-90? Dog-ear type? Yeah,I think so. Most of electric L7 player goes to L7c with Johnny Smith Pickup.

I got this to play the tunes of King Cole Trio :-)

    Thanks.

  • Excelent example of a super rare guitar! Nice work on the picguard. I like the fact that you made it out of wood instead of plastic...

  • Thanks. I chose magnolia wood for main board.

And very thin rosewood for the surface.

After wax coating with candle, burned a few moment to get the dark color.

I would have reworked it with ebony board if I had time.

    Thank you.

  • My L-50 does not have the original gard either, but since they are expected to take some abuse it does not alter the value much when they are replaced.

  • I watched your L-50 video and thought it had a strange pickguard:-)

30's L-50 has very different shape from late one. Very interesting for me.

I have 50's L-48.I bought it at a store in LA.

Priced only $500!! Probably nobody was interested because it has no pickups:-)

    Funny.

  • Yah, It's got a weird pickguard, but that's how I found it. It's only the '34 model that has the small saddle and long body. The rest of the 30's used the normal dreadnaught body that you're used to seeing. And your right; it is interesting; Why did they do that? Nobody seems to know.

  • Sweet guitar, awesome sound and playing. Just awesome!Favored.

  • Thanks. This is very old one. I love it.

  • BEAUTIFUL guitar,..you play fine too! (check out my 1951 Gibson L-4 C)

  • Thank you. I watched your amazing vid of RJ.

    It's very cool!!

  • Man, I LOVE IT! I was born in the wrong generation. ha

  • If you were born in 40's,you could not meet such aged tone.

So you were born in right generation:-)

    Thanks.

  • absolutly fantastic tone!

  • Thanks.This guitar is much older than I :-)

  • Incredibly beautiful instrument my friend. And I really enjoyed your playing!

  • WOW! SUPER NICE! 5/5!

  • Thanx

Pls watch my vid collab with suzieqt68-san

It is"Re:every time we say goodbye"

  • good! ^^b

  • Really? :-)

  • REALLY! LOL!

  • What a sweetheart of a guitar and you play it so well. Thanks for the video response to my tune.

  • Maybe almost the same as yours but the head design.

I don't know the production date/year even now.

Sometime you can hear some clicking noise. It is the sound of the pickup knocking the body.During this recording, bracket of the pickup was broken :-)

    Thanx

  • eeej Gomente , very nice guitar and sound.

    5********

    greetings Danny

  • Yeah,I also have another one,50's Gibson L-48.

Someday I'll post the video of that.

    Thanx.

  • sooo beautifull!

  • Me? Ohh Thanx! :-)

    No just kidding:-)

    Thank you

  • Beautiful guitar and very nice playing. You might be interested in the guitars I use in my videos.

  • Hi,thanks. Yes I've visited your page lately.

Yeah,I like your style and love jazz songs such as King Cole Trio or older.

    Your L50 has brilliant tone(and your vocal). I have '53 L-48.

Someday I will upload it played.

    Thank you so much!!

  • may i ask? do u think the avalon u5 makes a great contribution to your tone? im thinking on buying one to connect directly to a P.A. system.

  • Hi,Thanks for watching this.

Please see "About This Video". I updated it for you. (Because I wrote too long :-)

And..can you write what you use U5 for? (Acoustic?Electric?Bass?etc.)

    Thanks!

  • Gomente-san, I thank you for your promtly answer & help, I am thinking on buying the U5 for electric guitar, i know its great for bass, but i would use it as a Di and to boost the signal coming out of my Pod xt multi-effect, i am looking to give some warmth, headroom and that "something" that may get rid of the digitalness of the signal.

  • I understand.Umm..I've not done like that...

But I think U5 give you good results.

I don't have POD XT.But I think I can make the samples to let you know the differences (U5 In/Out) if you have time to wait. Are you playing in High Gain usually?

  • Wow Gomente! God Bless you! I would really apreciate that, I play a little bit of everything. I would really like to know your opinion on: the cleans & the distortions, do they improve?

Does the u5 warm up the signal going straight to the P.A.?

Does it sound and respond more "tube" like?

I Thank you again, you have my respect.

  • No problem.I will make the sample within a day or two.I have ZOOM G2.I will use it foe the test. Not so tube like,I think.More accurate and high speed response.I will record some other DIs also for comparing

    Talk to you soon!!

  • Hi

Now I uploaded the Sample video.Click "GOMENTE" and find it in my "VIDEO". U5 did nice job.And LR.Baggs was not so bad,I thought.

However, the differences are very little.(On YouTube..)

  • Gomente wow I reaaly apreciate all of this, i know its a lot of work, There are some setings i liked very much, but would really like to hear your opinion about it since it was you who experienced it first hand. Thanks for everything uve been too kind.

  • I love this too Gomente! Absolutely lovely!!

  • Hi,Suzie-san.Yes,I thought you loved this song:-) Though I don't play the solo guitar like this so much,I want do sometime..

This tune is one of my favorite.John Pizzarelli sang this with piano.

    Thanks!
