These are actually respectful tributes from Metallica to Maiden more than they are covers. This one actually sounds terrible. It is likely just poorly recorded. I've heard amazing Maiden covers from Metallica before. This is just awful sounding, especilly the intro in Iron Maiden. Fact is, I call these tributes becuase Metallica are huge Maiden fans as were many of the eighties top metal acts. Even Slash used to love Maiden and was inspired by them
