  • love this album and this song.used to have the 8 - track.

  • AWESOME:) I LOVE THIS GUY FOR SURE:)

  • Love it!! Good memories...I lived across the street from Emmitt when I was a little girl. Listened to him play in his garage. This entire album is great.

  • Reminds me a lot of Ob la di Ob la da (especially the intro piano and some of the instrumentation).

  • Back to a time when I was '...as fresh as a daisy...'

  • This record is the one that inspired me to go out and get my first multi track recorder, still one of my favorite albums ever

  • Paul McCartney much?! :D I love it.. so uplifting and fun <3

  • @SweetChick10101 Emitt actually surpasses McCartney in many regards.

  • I used to lift the needle and play this song over and over. Hitting the replay button is so much easier now. :)

  • a great discovery in music is to find Emmit Rhodes

  • This takes me back. I had just graduated from college. I was in my first teaching job near Seattle and heard Emmit's album and loved it. Very cool; thanks for posting.

  • wow, this takes me back....I had forgotten about him. Does anyone know what happened to him?

  • @maltoka The poster of this song has some recent information on Emitt. Message him. He told me that Emitt is alive and well and ready to make a new album (album? I must be giving away my age!)

  • My sister had this song on a 45 record when i was 7 years old and loved it then, it is so great to hear it again after 40 yrs!!! Still sounds great :)

  • This is still my favorite one he sang!

  • love this album, I had this and thanks to Joe I was introduced to this, kind of has the Beatles flare!

  • The Perfect record, and yes, I've always loved the muddy sound quality of this single!! This YouTube audio sounds excellent to my ear!!

  • I love the part from 1:08 to 1:20

  • Thanks for posting this. I thought I was the only one in the world who remembered this song, and I couldn't remember the artist's name.

  • @stratocastergirl - I remember it too because it was so unique-sounding and even enchanting (to a 12-year-old radio listener). I remember getting Emmit mixed up with Elton John, because they were both new on the scene that year, and had similar first names, and sounded a little alike.

  • @stratocastergirl I could remember his name but not the song!!!! A minor hit in Australia in early 1971 and only for a short time because there were so many good artists releasing songs every week. Others I remember at the same time were T-Rex's "Ride a White Swan", Gilbert O'Sullivan's "Alone Again, Naturally" & the very new, unknown quantity, Elton John singing "Your Song". It was an era of enormous talent.

  • The production here sounds more like the beatles, then paul macca..

  • This song is pretty good. Consider when it hit the airwaves. He was pulling a Brian Wilson and that's no insult bub!

  • this really takes me back to Peace and Music - I always liked his smooth Paul-ish delivery

  • This was 1970, Emitt wrote every song on the album (12), played all the instruments, and did all vocals and overdubs in his home studio. This YouTube doesn't do the sound quality justice.

  • Just add &fmt=18 to the end of the file to hear it in stereo :)

  • @bslinkster Can you upload "In the days of old" if you have it?

  • If the 60`s is still flowing through your blood you love this song!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks! I liked it back then and still do.

  • The lyrics are pretty lame if you actually listen to them, but it's a catchy tune.
