@sukotsutoclone2 Yeah, they changed the rules so you can't grab below the waist unless it's as a counter or something. Which sounds ridiculous to me, I don't see why they'd do that.

But other ones (like kanibasami) have been banned for even longer now, I think, because they have a very high injury rate.

If you learn judo then go for it I know this is an advert but judo is a god skill in combat that most wont have for defence it is valuable in jobs like the army and security although police are not allowed to use judo they can use it under extreme measures.

I saw a kick boxer get beat by a judo master the judo master used 2 moves wile the kick boxer used at least 30.

It all is in the force if the throw even if your not very tall judo actually is better for smaller individuals.

@GuitarDestroyer77777 Training judo in a dojo that will work on a lot of ne waza (ground work) will make you a very capable ground fighter. Since BJJ almost exclusively focuses on ground grappling, the BJJ practitioner of comparable skill level to the judoka will definitely have an edge, but the judoka is certainly no slouch. There's definitely a lot more to judo than trips and throws (though they are the prettiest to watch.)

@iamjuanpablo In a good judo session, you do hit the floor 50-100 times. If you have a good partner, one he gets you off your feet, he won't drive you into the ground. Still hurts, just not as much.
