Jews don't conduct their lives in the modern world according to a 3000 year old text, same as they don't worship god by slaughtering a little goat and burning it on an altar, like it says in the book of Leviticus - doing that today would be insane, right? In Judaism the world of modern scientific discovery is divided from the world of religion and faith.

@allblue88 Yes it's the same creation story from the Genesis book, but it's taught today largely as an allegory. Jews don't conduct their lives in the modern world according to a 3000 year old text, same as they don't worship god by slaughtering a little goat and burning it on an altar, like it says in the book of Leviticus - doing that today would be insane, right? In Judaism the world of modern scientific discovery is divided from the world of religion and faith.
