Magnificent, one of the finest film scores ever composed, to a wildly underrated film, as usual the Academy missed the boat, not even nominating it for Best Picture, Director or Actress, and the score losing.

@jayiijay Please don't get me going on that subject. I was truly shocked that this jewel of a movie did not get the recognition it dererves. It's one of the most beautiful movies I have ever seen and I'm very proud to have in my collection. One wonders about the politics that come into play in Hollywood sometimes. But certainly, this time, as counteless others they really messed up. But awards or not, the fact remains that this is a masterpiece of movie making.

I agree about Brahms. It is also similar (at least in rhythm) to the main theme in Brahms's Clarinet Quintet (Op. 115).
