All of the people I know who read the bible, including my family (sorry guys), are more self centered and less willing to help others than those people I know who don't read the bible.

I don't think anyone can link Morality with Origin. Yes the bible does teach morals to ppl who believe in God, but you can't imply that if everyone believed in evolution there would be no morals. You don't need the bible to have good morals, you just need common sense and to be able to look at something and determine if that action is fair 2evey1. If there was no bible, people would be doing this.

But since there is 1, ppl choose to hate others and justify their actions with "Jesus told me to"

idodiochere: Good point. Once you wade your way through the muddled up philosophies of Christianity and view it from the outside, the Bible is comprised of text written by man. It might be *about* a man who supposedly lived the most altruistic life anyone has ever lived, but it's still a man none-the-less. You're absolutely right people would still be moral if there were no Bible... they were being moral prior to its existence! Sure, some immoral, but no different than now. Very simple concept.

Not at all. I disagree, dawkins does a good job here. These types of interviews rarely reveal anything substantial apart from publicity for a new book. Hardly enough to influence anyone unless they read the book. Hitchens and O'Reilly would be explosive tho, really entertaining. Hitchens can come across too aggressive at times tho, with the detriment to his/the point.
