my blackberry says this when i try to conect to wifi ' provisioning wi-fi profile... inter this PIN into your wireless router: and numbers come up, pleaseee helpp
@XxILOVEGAMESxX and @hashs003 Sounds like you've been given a PIN for WPS connection. The PIN would be entered on your routers settings page. If you don't have WPS follow these steps > Scan for Network > Click on your network name > Connect to the network > Click CANCEL on the box that appears > Enter the Wifi password you would normally use then connect.
my blackberry says this when i try to conect to wifi ' provisioning wi-fi profile... inter this PIN into your wireless router: and numbers come up, pleaseee helpp
@hashs003 Ugh! Mine does the SAME thing w.like a 4-5 min time clock, but nothing happens. My router is a Belkin I'm using on 2 desktops at home. I dont know what the problem is; UUUUGHH!!
@immagokutime Your Internet service provider can advise you on what your WEP key is. It can also be found printed on the bottom of the wireless box on some models. We wouldn't recommend switching security off as it would leave your connection open to anyone to use.
im getting charged from my network for using my personal wifi router, i was wondering if you could tell me why this is happening? and have you got any advice to stop this from accoring? by the way i do not have any data plan.
@riddy14 If you are being charged by your mobile network provider then you must be connecting to the mobile network. This can happen if you lose connection from the Wi-Fi network. To prevent this you could turn off Mobile data. To do this go to Manage Connections > Mobile Network Options > Mobile Network.

@TheNatalieLaurenxx Are you able to access the internet while connecting to the mobile web? Do you know if you have an active Blackberry Data plan on your account? This is needed even when connecting via Wi-Fi.
likewise with me, i cant access my internet..done checking my wifi box on my manage connections but when i go to the browsser there's a "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again"..wat is going on..pls help me
@XoltVoltage It's the type of security set up on your wireless box. Some routers have WPA, WPS, WEP etc and it sounds like yours is PSK. Have you tried typing in your password?
@Reesj321 It usually means there is a delay in sending the message. This can be due to the device transmitting other information at the same time or a delay on the network. To resolve try a battery pull. Remove the battery from the device while it is switched on. After 5 minutes replace and test. Does this make any difference?
@IHateThatILoveMyself and @internetlord11 Do you both have an active Blackberry data plan on your mobile accounts? Check you have as this is needed to fully connect to the Blackberry servers even over Wi-Fi. Once this is done check your software make sure it's up to date and also try a battery pull. Remove the battery from the device while it's switched on. After 5 minutes replace and test. Make any difference?
i tried to connect and i tried a battery pull and the wifi symbol is grey and there is a white line on the management connections menu instead of a green tick please help
@ONE4517 Double check the password you are using. Remember it is case sensitive and must be typed in exactly as written. Remove the network by Pressing the Menu button > Manage Connections > Wi-Fi Options > Highlight the name of the network > Press the Menu button > Highlight Delete and select > Press Delete again. Now try reconnecting.
@DaliaHerszaft1 Sounds like you've been given PIN for WPS connection. If you don't have this follow these steps > Scan for Network > Click on your network name > Connect to the network > Click CANCEL on the box that appears > Enter the Wifi password you would normally use then connect.

To remove the network Press the Menu button > Manage Connections > Wi-Fi Options > Highlight the name of the network > Press the Menu button > Highlight Delete and select > Press Delete again. Now perform a battery pull. Remove the battery while the phone is on. Replace after 5 mins then turn on the phone and follow the instructions in the video to connect again. Make any difference?
@PhantomX786 Try a battery pull. Remove the battery from the device while it is on. After 5 minutes replace the battery and try to connect. Do you have an active Blackberry data plan on your account? Are you able to access the internet via the mobile web?
@O2GuruTV dude can you help me?i have connected to the wifi but still when i open the browser it says-cannot connent to interner..try again later..wat shud i do?
@ItsN7 The PIN shown is for WPS enabled routers. The PIN would be typed into the router settings page for your wireless box. This would normally be accessed through an internet browser page.
@theSCclub So it shows that you're connected at the top of the phone to the wifi? Do you have any other devices connected to your home wifi? Can you remove the connection and try to re-add it?
@XxXxStarla The PIN shown is for WPS enabled routers. The PIN would be typed into the router settings page for your wireless box. This would normally be accessed through an internet browser page. Just to confirm you said you don't have Wi-Fi? If that's the case you won't be able to get connected.
Please help me. I done everything on the video. Everything seems to be fine. I connected to the wifi with ease. But there are two things I have trouble with.
- The "Wifi" symbol is grey and not white. Isn't it supposed to be white like on the video?
How do you fix this?
-When I try to use the browser, it keeps saying "Unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later..." How do you solve this?
@MrSooperHuman If the symbol colour isn't correct then it would show it's not connected properly. So when it says your connected, you can't use the internet? Do you have any other devices running from your home network?
same problem here, yes i do have other 2 devices (LG android phones) running fine on this wifi connection, i even tried connecting my dad's BB via WPS to my router, it does say its connected and it does show the network's name on top aswell as my carrier but the wifi symbol is gray, the light above flashes green from time to time
@Killrsheep You still need an active Blackberry data plan even when connecting to Wi-Fi. This is needed to obtain access to RIM servers and use any internet based services.
@shanebailey2009 What handset make and model are you using? If you are using the 8520 you can download settings by Pressing the BlackBerry menu key > Select ‘Options’ > Select ‘Advance Options’ > Select ‘Host Routing Table’ > Press BlackBerry menu key and select ‘Register Now’.
@SuperEvoGaming If your router has WPS security you would enter the PIN into the router settings page which can be accessed through your internet browser. Alternatively follow these steps > Scan for Network > Click on your network name > Connect to the network > Click CANCEL on the box that appears > Enter the Wifi password you would normally use then connect.
Hi O2 just wondering I have followed every step in this video and after ive scanned and clicked on my protected wireless it says you have 5 minutes to type a randomly generated code into my router it doesn't make any sense, any ideas masters??? :)
@nathancurry13 If your router has WPS security you would enter the PIN into the router settings page. Alternatively follow these steps > Scan for Network > Click on your network name > Connect to the network > Click CANCEL on the box that appears > Enter the Wifi password you would normally use then connect.
Ok so listen here, i just got my blackberry curve 8520 and when i try to connect it says i need to enter a code into my router?? Please help. Thanks guys :D
@O2GuruTV hey i need help i did everything u told me to do and it worked for a day and this morning im not connected i went on service status and it says im not connected what to do plz??????????????????????????
@TheRedRider100 Try removing the network then reconnecting again. To remove the network press > Menu > Manage Connections > Wi-Fi Options > Menu > Delete > Delete again. Now reconnect by following the instructions shown in the video.
@JodieeO Double check the password you are using is correct. Remove the network from the phone by pressing Menu > Manage Connections > Wi-Fi Options > Menu > Delete > Delete again. Now perform a battery pull. Remove the battery from the device while its on. After 5 mins replace the battery and turn back on. Now try connecting using the steps in the video.
@O2GuruTV ok i did everything correctly and it says the name of the network im connected to on the top but when i open my browser, it keeps saying requesting along the bottom and then says "Unable to connect to the Internet Please try again later" any ideas?
@ThDComputer Are you connecting to your own wireless network at home? Try a hard reset of the box. Then remove the network from the Blackberry and reconnect again. To remove press > Menu > Manage Connections > Wi-Fi Options > Menu > Delete > Delete again. Make any difference?
@irin42 Check your routers settings. Make sure it is set to visible and can accept requests from new devices. It may be worth trying a hard reset on your router too. This will return all settings to factory default.
@TheMckeegan1989 If your router is WPS enabled the PIN is entered on the router settings page. If you already have a password just press cancel at this screen. This should then allow you to type in your own password on the handset.
i try to connect to my Home Connection and once i type in the password to my connection i get an error saying "failed to authenticate against the network" Help would appreciated :)
@jawdi5 I'd recommend double checking the password. Remember it needs to be typed in exactly as written and it's also case sensitive. Try removing the network from the phone and reconnecting again. To remove follow these steps > Menu > Manage Connections > Wi-Fi > Options > Menu > Delete > Delete.
when i click on a network to connect to it, it says 'provisioning wi-fi profiles... enter this PIN in to your wireless router' and a 5min counter comes up, after the 5min is up it says 'provisioning session expired'. what can i do?
@MsWeirdchickk and @MrJohncenabest Do you both know what type of security you have on your wireless boxes? If it's WPS then you are required to enter the PIN on your wireless box router settings page. If your box is not WPS then try these steps > Scan for Networks > Click on your network > Click connect > Now click CANCEL on the box that appears > Enter your Wifi password.
@sonicking01 If your router has WPS security then you would put this PIN into your wireless box settings. To access the wireless box settings type the routers IP address into your internet browser. If you don't have WPS security try the following steps > Scan for your Network - Click your Wi-Fi network - Click connect - Then click CANCEL - Enter your WiFi password. Remember the password is case sensitive.
@O2GuruTV hey my connection doese not work i tried so meny times but it says unable to connect,my wifi security is a WPA2 but when i choose manually add network thats not a choice is it my phone or my connectio reply quick.(Thanks in advance)
@hasan65925 Try a battery pull. Remove the battery from the device while it is powered on. After 4-5 minutes replace the battery and test again. You may also wish to try a hard reset. Please remember to back up all information on your phone before performing this step. Go to Menu > Options > Security Options > General Settings > Press the Menu key > Wipe hand held > Continue > Type in the word blackberry to confirm.
@martin111mv and @legendaryjimp If your router has WPS security then you would put this PIN into your wireless box settings. To access the wireless box settings type the routers IP address into your internet browser. If you don't have WPS security try the following steps > Scan for your Network - Click your Wi-Fi network - Click connect - Then click CANCEL - Enter your WiFi password. Remember the password is case sensitive.
@O2GuruTV I cant connect to my home internet its a wpa2 security and i want to change to 02 but need to unlock my pgne could i unlock it for free in an 02 shop

I did the pay as you go password thing and it worked at first then stopped.....
how can i make my edge to 'EDGE'?, and how can i get the data plan cos if i click on my facebook it says i am currently on a service plan that does not support this application..
@jameztrike Try a battery pull. (Remove the battery from the device while it is powered on) After 3-4 mins place the battery back and turn on. You will need a valid data plan before you will be able to access any internet services. If you are on O2 UK then call our customer service team, they will advise you on available options. Contact details can be found here - j#mp/CallCS For all our latest tariffs and data plans check out this link - bit#ly/qGFqQK (Swap the # symbols for dots . )

HELP ME PLEASE ...i did the same steps but when i want to connect to wifi ....it tells me "failed to obtain an IP address" ..will someone tell me why is that hapenin and tell me what to do!!!
@sweetjeejeelove There are a few things you can try. First of all make sure your software is up to date. You can check your software by going to Menu - Options - About. The latest version for the 8520 is 5.0.0.681 Platform 5.2.0.67. Next try removing the network from the Blackberry and reconnecting again. To remove follow these steps - Menu - Manage Connections - Wi-Fi Options - Highlight the name of the network - Delete and select - Highlight Delete again and select.
@DaffyHug Are you able to access the internet while connected to the mobile network? Do you know if you have a Blackberry data plan active on your tariff? If you are with O2 UK, you can check this online via My O2.
@DeckedTigerUnit Double check the password as you type it into the handset. Remember it's case sensitive. You may also wish to try a battery pull on the device. (Remove the battery from the phone while it is power on). After 3-4 mins place the battery back in, turn on and try to reconnect to the network. Does this make any difference?
@O2GuruTV Still nothing :( tried like 10 times and still says failed to authenticate against the network, then on top of that my youtube doesn't work on 3G either says content not available, sever is blocked or unresponsive ...and I just got my phone...
Are you allowed to turn off mobile network (because I'd probably end up wasting credit without knowing) or does that affect texts and calling aswell. Thanks :)
@TheLittleEpicGamer You can turn off mobile data independently from calls and texts. To do this go to Settings - Networks and connections - Mobile Network - Data services off. Whenever you want to use internet you would need to go back in and switch back on. Hope this helps. :)
@BroadyYouthDefenders What type of security are you running on your router? Try removing the network from your device and reconnecting again. To remove Press the Menu - Manage Connections - Wi-Fi Options - Highlight the name of the network - Press the Menu button - Delete and select (press trackpad) - Highlight Delete again and select.
Please help with my old blackberry i could connect to the wifi easy, but when i try it with my 8520 it says that i have to enter a pin into my router and i have no idea what its talking about or where to put the password that it created to put into my router!!!!!!!
@ainokea87 Does your router support WPS security? If so the PIN is put in on the routers settings page via your internet browser. If your router is not WPS and you already have a wireless password try Scanning for your Network - Click your Wi-Fi network - Click connect - Then click CANCEL - Enter your WiFi password. Remember the password is case sensitive. You should now be connected.
i have a laptop connected to a modem(the modem does not have a wifi ) so through internet sharing service on windows 7 i tried to connect my blackberry curve but could not connect pls help it says faile to authenticate against the network.
ok so i follow the ideo. When i click connect it says " Unable to connect - Failed to authenticate against the network". Then instead of saying " Sky....." it says "Tesco" still. What do i do ? :(
@iMoDxUK Were you connected to a Tesco network previously? Try removing this network - Press the Menu button - Manage Connections and select - Wi-Fi Options and select - Highlight the name of the network (Tesco) - Press the Menu button - Delete and select - Highlight Delete again and select. Now try connecting to the Sky network. Does this make any difference?
help me i cant connect mine!...yah i did already connect to the internet but then i click the browser and it ses that ur enable to connect to the internet..:(
@TheAndrea0304 So were you able to get access to the web then it suddenly stopped? If so try disconnecting from the network and reconnecting again. To disconnect Press the Menu button - Manage Connections and select - Wi-Fi Options and select - Highlight the name of the network - Press the Menu button - Delete and select - Highlight Delete again and select. You may also wish to try a battery pull. (Remove the battery from the device while it is on.)
@O2GuruTV yap i did that! but still cant not connect to internet..i did check my wi fi is on.. imean the wi fi here in my house...Still cant connect to the web ..:(
@TheAndrea0304 You would need credit on your phone as this would ensure your Blackberry data plan is active. The Blackberry data plan is needed to give you access to RIM servers.
@CoIourrs Have you connected to your Wi-Fi at home? First of all try a battery pull. (Remove the battery from the device while it's powered on). Then disconnect from the network and reconnect again. To disconnect Press the Menu button - Manage Connections and select - Wi-Fi Options and select - Highlight the name of the network - Press the Menu button - Delete and select - Highlight Delete again and select. When reconnecting double check the password when typing in. Remember it's case sensitive.

@nazz221430 Follow the steps shown in the video, when you scan for networks and connect to your own network press cancel. Then enter your WPA password. You should now be connected. :)

@theSCclub So it shows that you're connected at the top of the phone to the wifi? Do you have any other devices connected to your home wifi? Can you remove the connection and try to re-add it?

Mine says this
this wireless router supports wi-fi protected set up. To connect using a PIN (whicht your blackberry will generate) Click next
and i got a PIN what do i do now??

I Have A modem For my internet...
Will it not work because i have no wi-fi
But i did pick up a divice and it shows a code?
But everytime i clickit a new code comes up

Please help me. Thank You.
MrSooperHuman 2 months ago 9
@MrSooperHuman If the symbol colour isn't correct then it would show it's not connected properly. So when it says your connected, you can't use the internet? Do you have any other devices running from your home network?
O2GuruTV 2 months ago
same problem here, yes i do have other 2 devices (LG android phones) running fine on this wifi connection, i even tried connecting my dad's BB via WPS to my router, it does say its connected and it does show the network's name on top aswell as my carrier but the wifi symbol is gray, the light above flashes green from time to time

@Killrsheep You still need an active Blackberry data plan even when connecting to Wi-Fi. This is needed to obtain access to RIM servers and use any internet based services.

@irin42 Check your routers settings. Make sure it is set to visible and can accept requests from new devices. It may be worth trying a hard reset on your router too. This will return all settings to factory default.

TheMckeegan1989 3 months ago
@TheMckeegan1989 If your router is WPS enabled the PIN is entered on the router settings page. If you already have a password just press cancel at this screen. This should then allow you to type in your own password on the handset.
