Ich finde es immer toll wenn ausländische Musicaldarsteller an ihrer Bühnensprache arbeiten und wert darauf legen! Bravo. Drew Sarich und Steve Barton sind /waren auch solche Künstler und nichts ist schlimmer wenn man irgendwelche Akzente raushört! Finde ich!

Willemijn Verkaik ("this girl") is the current first cast Elphaba in Germany. I'm guessing they made this interview early on before any footage of the Stuttgart cast was available. That's why they used the video of the original London cast, which includes Idina Menzel. :)

One correction:

she has experiences with musicals, because she played in Elizabeth (first ensemble, last year the leading role in Thun), 3 Musketeers and WWRY (every female leading role as Cover before becoming first cast Killerqueen). But she said, that she did pop first and later changed to musicals, because she loves the combination of acting, singing and dancing ;))

there aren´t a lot of interesting things. She always says the same...

for Willemijn (she´s dutch, not german, I can´t spell that name) its´s a very new experience... they talk about the story of wicked... 1800 canditadetes for the main roles, this Elpahba seen there is very proud to be selected... She couldn´t believe it at first... She learned german at school and in Kologne... The master alway pronouns it Ooooz instead of Oz (sounds stupid)

they talk about the wizard of Oz, a story that is not known as well as in america - but the musical is independent from the book - Willemijn isn´t very expierienced in playing musicals, she sung mostly pop... wicked inclueds mostly pop-songs... It may be a big strain to sing each evening/night (but I know there is at least one alternative Elphaba)
