You can hit a vein and have it bleed a lot, if you pierce the vein, let the pierce close or you can get a serious infection. And yes it hurts.

This isn't a great video. Yes, you should clean the area before you pierce it. Also, no matter how clean your hands are wear gloves. After its pierced, don't use alcohol to clean it. Use 1/4 a cup of UN IODIZED sea salt mixed in with a cup of water. DON'T use a sewing needle, use hypodermic needle. You can obtain these needles from piercists, hospitals, order them online, or if you live near a D&Ds novelty store, go there. They're cheap. Also make sure yu get the right size hypodermic needle. 1

this is probably the most helpful video (: i did mine a couple nights ago, and it's fine. if you keep cleaning it twice a day, it won't get infected. and for everyone who's asking about pain, it's different for everyone. mine didnt hurt but my friend says hers did so i guess it's just depends on the person. @FramingHashley Because the jewelry is curved and the piercing is straight, your body will make it go sideways at first. Eventually, it will end up straight. That is completely normal.

Just a tip for those forced to use a small needle: If you cant get a large needle, go ahead and pierce it with the small needle and let it rest for 15 minutes then take it out and put in the earring. It will keep it from closing so quickly, giving you time to squeeze the earring though. I did this with my ears, ha. (:

101cupcakeways, 14g is two sizes bigger than a normal ear piercing. You CAN get a small er gauge ring but with it being smaller u have a bigger chane of migration (where the jewelry physically moves because its trying to get out) and if you're concerned that a bigger needle wil hurt more, it wont, one gauge wont make that much of a difference.
