That is great to hear Enetiko86. I'm glad you say the stage version (I saw it a few times long before the movie came out) and the movie is different, more intimate and close up. I also think Gerard brings a great, emotional quality to the music. Not so lyrical tenor but Andrew's original idea was a rocker named Steve Harley. Watch the music video they made before the stage play came out some time.

I refused to see the movie until I actually saw the Phantom live. I saw it live and fell in love with the music. I picked up a Phantom CD of the soundtrack not thinking twice about it only to find out months later that it was Gerard Butler singing....I was stunned. His voice takes on all the emotions of the song, the moment, the story, the Phantom...his singing was magnificent. Bravo!
