I remember playing this as a child, on a family friend's computer, just once. I was fascinated by the concept. I'd played Home Alone on the SNES, which was just a mundane platformer, but this one involved setting traps within a realistically laid-out house, within a tense time limit. I realise now that it's simpler and shallower than it looked, but it certainly captured my imagination then, and for quite some time afterwards. Still, it's an interesting game, and an early example of its kind.
@bobyard123 go for it :) you could play this version on a ps2 with an Amiga Emu. I'd try Zophars Domain I see the PSX EMU for Amiga could try running it on the PS2 if not I hear there are some good psp EMU's for this the ps2 Amiga emu might fade away here in 3 years as some people are working on one for ps3
sad there not makeing any more movies its not just them not makeing any more movies that is sad but every time i think of this movie i thik of chrismas and watching it with my family when i was younger its really sad :( i hope they at least make one more movie
i remmeber this thing where u press f1 or f2 and jump quickly u can jump real high and sometimes if theres a glitch u will stay high up. but if u walk u will fall. i usually do that and wait for the enemy to walk below me and they cant catch me
sure looks better than the developers' attempt at that Wizard of Oz game that the AVGN took on months ago. apparently, Manley & Associates focused more on computer games than on console ones, much like most other American and European companies did.
Didn't Manley also do The Pink Panther for Sega Genesis and SNES which was even worse than Oz due to the fact that there were no passwords at all? Also, what happens if the wet bandits catch you in this game?
according to MobyGames, yep. not very surprising, for some reason. they even made a game based on the short-lived cartoon series, "King Arthur and the Knights of Justice".
to answer your second question, er...well, i haven't played this before. in fact, i haven't played a single Amiga or C64 game in my life. so, you'd have to ask someone like cubex55 about that. ^^;
If Harry or Marv catch you, the game ends immediately; you lose. There's even less fanfare than you get for the 'ending' to it ("Oh no! They caught you"). I played the PC version a time or two- I never knew there was an Amiga version. Fun game with an interesting concept, even if the ending sucks. =3
ahh man. I had this on the amiga 1200 and bloody loved it. I was only 12 at the time and was always scared when the robbers invaded my house. Especially the music, lol sounds like something from a horror movie.
There are actually like 5 (or possibly even more) different Home Alone games... This is the least known, on the Amiga, but at least NES and SNES, and I think Genesis games exist too. They aren't different versions of this, though, they are completetly different games.
Which I guess is even more disturbing... And now you are no doubt enthralled to hear that there are actually at least 2 or 3 games based on Home Alone 2 too...
oh my god. I remember how freaking HARD this was! I remember beating it ONLY ONCE, and that was when i realised how to use the spider. UGH... freaking annoying controls too

The perspective on the room beyond the open door at 2:04 is mystifying. Even when you work it out, it still looks horribly awkward.
Speaking of which, I don't think those giant digitised pictures of Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern during the setup phase are particularly flattering.

omg i couldnt play this game as a kid, it was really scary >_<

I had never noticed that Harry is clenching his fist while chasing. Is he that angry? XD

It's amazing how many commercial Amiga games used the same ST-xx samples. They aren't even that good.
On the other hand, the game doesn't even look finished, really.

Odd how you set all these traps, with no current threat...you never see the 2 crooks, so how does he know to set traps? seems a lapse in logic!
