I always had the feeling that Hayworth was a heavy drinker. She supposedly hated the Hollywood lifestyle and the parties. Would she have been happier had she stayed in Mexico?

Sensational movie. Too bad the studio ripped down most of the carnival sequence, what little that's left is wonderful. Welles and Hayworth were married for a while. I also like Welles' Irish accent in this, which he used to lend variety and amuse himself. I think you can tell that Welles had his chin taped up for this just as he did for the younger Kane sequences in "Citizen Kane."
