If they spawn depends on if you got more soldiers.

If you whant to keep corpses you can choose to in options (you can also change the size of the battles their).

When they die in battle, they die. If you have the setting on default, you can only have around 50 troops on the field at once, so if you have 100, and you lose 25, more sodliers will come in!~

the stand and shoot em up thing works if they have better infantry at the ladder and you have better archers if you have awsome infantry but few archers just tell the archers to hold and charge up with the infantry then move the archers onto the wall when you have secured it

I usually just charge up first, get on top of the wall and run it and get to their archers and decimate them. That serves as a distraction for the guys at the wall so my troops can get up and over the wall and into the fight, the enemy rarely lasts more than 7 minutes that way.

If your men get up there at a decent speed, archers won't be able to shoot them (since they're protected by the enemies' own walls)
