  • RAY HAD A SMOOTH VOICE SIMILIAR TO TOMMY EDWARDS IN MY OPINION.

  • This definitely won me over - I know the original song as a WW2 ballad. Nice find!

  • Thank you!

  • THIS is Rock n Roll....maaannn....makes my hair stand up!!!!

  • I couldn't agree more

  • In no Particular order Ray Pollard, Tony Middelton,Jimmy Jones,Fankie Lymon,Earl Carrol,Jackie Wilson, Clyde Mc'phatter,Herb Reed, John Clarke,Anthony Gourdine,Ben E King,Willie Winfield,Zeke Carey,Jimmy Beaumont, Neville Taylor,Frankie Valli,Lee Andrews,Otis Williams and James 'Shep shepard Are a mere handfull of the best male Doowop Singers that Ever lived!!!!!!

  • NICE!!!

  • I agree! Ray was one of the best. Always loved his voice.

  • wow this really is a Fantastic tune, the harmonies are so tight with the wonderful Sax break it a class tune :)))

  • This is a fantastic tune and his lead is just simply excellent. Sax on this is excellent too, my favorite instrument. Thanks for another great post.

  • Exciting record, with everything working. Discovered that Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer wrote music and words, in about 1943. Apparently a lot of people have recorded it: Ella, Frank, Sammy, Peggy, Trane. Thanks very much for putting this up.

  • i truly love this tune they don't make em like this anymore. this is a classic good time tune

  • I agree.. This is a truly great 45

  • I love the label !!!

  • Orbit is a very cool design. A shame they only got to put out 2 or 3 records

  • The Wanderers were fantastic. Thanks for sharing this one.

  • Ray Pollard is fabulous ALONG with the Wanderers! Thanks PJ!

  • Agreed

  • I'm with you the Wanderers could sing their asses off! I mean they sang circles around many other groups, first class all the way, and silly me, never heard this before but you just got me bigtime, this rocks! Thanks for this great song!

  • The flip of this is good too. This was recorded for Onyx shortly before MGM bought the label. Orbit's the first press. It was put out on Cub shortly after this

  • @PJDooWop cool story, was reading about it when I picked up the Velours on Orbit which was also released on Onyx I believe, during the transition, before it was changed to cub records.
