First Gaunt book needs to be rewritten for any number of reasons, but one is how it says Heldane has been an Inquisitor for 60 years while in order to fit with the Eisenhorn books timeline it should be more like 500+ years.

That first Gaunt book is just terrible, it really is. He really should revisit it and fix it up to more match the quality of his later stories.

@GrAxim heldane is injured in the hereticus book by the daemon chearubel which keeps stalking eisenhorn. his leg is crushed wen the deamon rippes the floor out from under him and closes it again on his trapped foot. with him trapped he sets heldane on fire, then goes for eisenhorn. heldane's really not had a fortunate career has he? :)

Enjoyed this vid and glad to see Dan is sticking to his word about delivering the final three Inquisition novels. Being an ardent fan of Patience Kys, the telekine from the Ravenor team, I would very much like to see her fulfill a prominent role in this finale.

As much as I love Gaunt and Ravenor I have to say Eisenhorn is my favorite character in the 40k universe, The perfect Inquisitor and the inevitable heretic.

@Grazim: Heldane was Commodus Vokes pupil.

He got his facial damage from a Carnodon, which he didnt get fixed but as you said, but remodelled his face to this horselike snout.

He also lost his legs to Cherubael
