She was the voice not only of South Africans, but of Africans east, west, central and north. She stamped the african race into the minds of the world. Before Miriam came, we thought of Africans as missionary eating spear chuckers in awe of Tarzan. She changed everything. The angels in heaven have thrown away their harps and are doing Pata Pata since Miriam got there. Superhartline
I loved this in a disco in Sweden and dance d my tail off to it each and every time it played. I was less than 15 yrs old.....One of the greatest song ever..music is infectious! Hot, hot, hot. We love you Miriam, for bringing this music to each and every "corner" of the world. Rest in peace!!! Best dance song ever!
i love this...went to the miss jamzone international paganet here in guyana and three girls did this song an it was wellll done...was alos the first time i heard the song an i loved it.....oo and that click i been tryna learn how to do that
@merijnvanwouden love in this world. youre right its either this or that i choice that lol. I.m going for the white site hihi! i now everything about the bullshit what;s going on. I know also about what's going ogg in this world, make your choive my friends :D
I reviewed literally two dozen versions before uploading this to Facebook. The combination of sound and the accompanying slide show makes this easily the best!
I just recently learned about this wonderful singer, and I am grateful for everything she has done for music, and the universal truths that we as human must learn how much we have in common. Music is the great unifier, listen, enjoy, and love.
Miriam first released Pata Pata the year I was born - 1956. She received a 1960 grammy nomination for best folk performance - the same year South Africa cancelled her passport & denied her the right to attend her mother's funeral. In 1963 South Africa cancelled her citizenship altogether ! ! ! It is impossible to understand such a world of hatred. . . . . . . . . .
@chkjns I so agree with you really impossible to understand such a world of hatred, slave mentality. Instead of being proud of what she has achieved as a representative of their country and as a black woman. I am proud of where I was born, who I am and what and who I am representing. Where there us unity there is peace, joy, love, understanding and encouragement. She has impacted me as a child and I am all the way in Aruba this should say how influencial her music was.
RIP Mama Africa

Incomparable Miriam!!!
