  • from Brasil : I love Miriam Makeba ! RIP ! Thank's her for the woman she was !! :)

  • She was the voice not only of South Africans, but of Africans east, west, central and north. She stamped the african race into the minds of the world. Before Miriam came, we thought of Africans as missionary eating spear chuckers in awe of Tarzan. She changed everything. The angels in heaven have thrown away their harps and are doing Pata Pata since Miriam got there. Superhartline

    Thank you!

  • Friggin awesome. Love it.

  • God Bless mama Africa

  • "good black don't crack"--Shemar Moore

This woman never cracked..she musta been some kinda cool! I'm gna learn this dance, by the way.. :)

  • THE BLAK QUEEN. FOREVER.

  • I just recently learned about this wonderful singer, and I am grateful for everything she has done for music, and the universal truths that we as human must learn how much we have in common. Music is the great unifier, listen, enjoy, and love.

  • Incomparable Miriam!!!

  • God bless you Miriam

  • @denmaximperia I thumbed your comment UP !!!!

Miriam first released Pata Pata the year I was born - 1956. She received a 1960 grammy nomination for best folk performance - the same year South Africa cancelled her passport & denied her the right to attend her mother's funeral. In 1963 South Africa cancelled her citizenship altogether ! ! ! It is impossible to understand such a world of hatred. . . . . . . . . .

  • @chkjns I so agree with you really impossible to understand such a world of hatred, slave mentality. Instead of being proud of what she has achieved as a representative of their country and as a black woman. I am proud of where I was born, who I am and what and who I am representing. Where there us unity there is peace, joy, love, understanding and encouragement. She has impacted me as a child and I am all the way in Aruba this should say how influencial her music was.

  • @Heavilicious Maybe we can heal the world with beautiful music? chuck

  • LETS DANCE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xP
