So, 3 minutes in and you still haven't said a single reason or explanation as to why you switched. No discussion on pros and cons of the systems, no specifics, just rambling about wanting to be understanding and uninsulting. Just please say what you think
Yes I agree you should dedicate the next one to me. Let me know when you post! Thanks a bunch and stay PC, building them is 1000 more fun that purchasing a MAC! No hate on either one but I would rather have a kit car than a BMW! Its what you make it!
Yea I was on the fence with going from PC to MAC but to be honest I just cant get one. They are way overpriced, limited in looks/style, and you cant upgrade/build them yourself. Also with Windows 7 64bit you can kiss ram limitations and viruses goodbye! Another reason is you cant overclock an apple or at least if you can its not an easy process!!!
@willmarjenhoff - Dang, it's been a year since I posted this and I need to make a video.
One thing to note is that you can overclock a mac via certain software out there. I use to overclock my mac pro all the time to run some games, but I don't recommend overclocking in general.
But Windows 7 Pro 64 (which is what I am running on all my systems is awesome). Viruses are still an issue, but with something like the free Avast AV you should be in the clear.
Great Video! I am a software support engineer and recently switch from PC to Mac. For what activities do you use your home PC and what has been your approximate switching cost, Hardware + Software?
What do you do on your computer? The internet is a pretty safe place these days, but if your "browsing" brings you into and unusual amount of trouble, get yourself AVG and a good Spyware program (good things to have on any mac as well).
Honestly though, I haven't had a virus in years and I don't use any antivirus. Then again, I avoid the nefarious side of the net.
@bsurgeon171 do you get into some funny or torrenty, or shady sites? i caught a virus once and it was because i was looking for a torrent for a program so. i basically went looking to catch something because i knew they were shady sites i was entering. but before & after that i never once caught a virus again i think thats in the past, its been 1 year & about 6 months since i caught that last virus. oh & microsoft security essentials free antivirus program cleaned it for me. win7 is real good.
