Now we could solve this problem if we required all elected officials to only run with public funding. But this would be perceived by some (including those on the Supreme Court) as unconstitutional. Which is why we need an amendment.  Pass the amendment. and watch political corruption dry up. Otherwise, your tilting at windmills.

Politicians need tons of money to advertise, to travel, to run websites and send out flyers. If they don't have money, they don't get name recognition, and they don't get elected.

I worry that adding another organization to the role of finding, picking and voting for a candidate may, in time, add layers of convolution to the process as well as risk adding more opportunities for lobbying and under the table deals.

I understand that GOOOH is independent of the election process. I don't have to vote for or based on GOOOH's findings or candidate recommendations.

That said, it is likely that I will remain PRO-GOOOH.
