Check out my 2 part documentary on Marcus Clay and then tell me how much you then think Huckabee uses "his platform to testify by word and deed to the Love of God in Christ." Watch the videos, and you'll see how gruel and empty hearted this man can be.
Mike Huckabee should not be afraid of those who hate him because Jesus is stronger! Let him use his platform to testify by word and deed to the Love of God in Christ, for a vice-president like this would certainly bring the power to solve all America's many problems! Praise Jesus! Perhaps a man of God in full public view would change the minds of some of those who have never seen the Love of God in a human being and therefore cannot help but disbelieve. Jesus, help us to set the captives free!
I agree with the man in the video, right up until the end. But to go from there to the claim that 'Huckabee can't be trusted nor is he a man of integrity' is going too far, into condemnation. Peter was, after all, reinstated by Jesus following his repentance. Huckabee could perhaps be stronger in faith but his imperfection does not mean he is not a Christian. We all sin, but as followers of Jesus, we do not practice sinning. Mike Huckabee needs to repent but he is still a true Christian.
You are as idiotic as your lying parson, Suckabee! Anyone can see Suckabes record online. I did and his records show Suckabee to be a deliberate, willful liar on several occasions where he reverses position on an issue and then flat out denies he ever held such a position! Suckabee is a wolf in sheeps clothing and you are one of the lambs Suckabee is leading to eternal destruction!!! I wouldnt trust him as far as I could throw him and I dont think I could pickup his fat ass much less throw him!!
Ron Paul is a man of integrity. Just Google Ron Paul and you'll see that his 30 years of consistent, dedicated service to America establishes his integrity. I agree we don't need a "religious freak as President". Huckabee scares me when he starts talking about the military. It's like he's itching for a fight.
Why should he not have been embarassed? Which politician is a man of integrity? We don't need a religious freak as President. Would you like to have Louis Farrakhan there?
you have various good points in your comments here. However your argument in this video does not stand well. People see what they what they want to see. People wanting to see a Christian symbol to either praise him for supporting Christianity or to crucify him for using a Christian symbol because of his reputation, will definitely see a cross. For all we know, the set for the recording had a bookshelf that the cameraman and others just saw as what it was, a bookshelf.
You cannot go overboard with symbols. Take the plus sign for instance, that indicates addition. If someone found a math book in a Christian school and saw all the plus signs, and thought they were crosses, and a second person corrects them saying that their just symbols to indicate addition, does that mean they are belittling the cross? no.
The point that I am making, is that Huckabee says he is a Christian. He will not admit that the bookshelf, which is professionally light and is panned from left to right in the commercial, looks like a cross. Why say to me that my analysis is "overboard" when Huckabee himself went overboard in using this symbolism? If it were an accident, the accident wouldn't be so professionally staged.
having extensive experience in film, it is safe to say that he knew the cross symbol was noticed and cheered by his weak-minded evangelical fan base. But since it was ontologically a book shelf, he could deny this if he wanted to. You see, when using the pan technique that was employed here the only reason this ever makes sense is if you wish to shift focus from the foreground into the background. It was an obvious ploy....and as a true Believer, it sickened me.
so you're looking at it not as denial of his faith principles, but rather manipulation of an opportunity for votes? I think (can't speak for someone else) the video author is going for the former.
I think so too, but having gone to high-school in Arkansas, Christianity was by and large taken for granted. Drink and screw all week-go to Church on sunday. I don't know whether Mike is a believer or not, but I do know that his record shows the contrary to be true. Matt. 7:16 says "you will know them by their fruit" and I'm afraid Huck has given us nothing but thistles and thorn-bushes.
Since you ask (and this is a great question), I look at it as Mike not taking a STAND for his faith principles when given a golden opportunity. He should also take ownership in what this video image reveals (picture says a thousand words), not ignore the obvious when the obvious was questioned. It was ALSO manipulation, so I take issue with both aspects.
If you're implying that I have low intelligence just because I have faith and knowledge of Biblical truth, then you are of low intelligence for making that assumption. Christians can think for ourselves; we just have something called humility (to God) that prideful people like you don't understand, because you are so full of yourselves. Someday you'll understand, one way or the other.
You have a world view that reduces metaphysical concepts such as the laws of logic and morality into non-objective absurdity. Mine, however, makes these things cogent with reality. I am afraid you don't know enough about theology to make silly assumptions like this. If all things are only proven empirically, then by simply employing the laws of intelligibility, you are refuting the atheist world view.
you don't know shit to make silly little assumptions about how much other people know. your dumbass opinion is valid as his or mine, you are not smarter than anyone else, and anyone who studies theology is a waste of time
Thank you for appealing to relativism, you have just proved my point. you say all absolutes are based on arbitrary opinion. What one mind communicates to the other is meaningless. Therefore, you have just thrown logic, morality, language, and mathematics out the window. So now, you have to tell everyone that hitler was right in acting with the whim of the society he was a part of.
i do not say all absolutes are based on arbitrary opinion, i said that everyone has their own opinion, what one mind communicates to another is not meaningless, its full of meaning, hitler wasn't right, and you are a dumbass for making broad philosphical assumptions from a very small piece of information
I just knew where you were going, so instead of playing your parlor game. I just gave you a chunk to chew on. Sure I may have jumped to conclusions, but there is no way to account for absolutes at all in the atheist world (which i assume is what you have). Since absolutes are rendered meaningless and relative, you don't have any grounds to say that hitler was wrong...other than your arbitrary opinion, which you've already stated as being as invalid as mine.
opinions aren't invalid, they are the most valid things humans have.you dont need to create or beleive in a fantasy religion to base objective morals and ethics on, people can be objectively good without beleiving in a god or religion. its a fact that killing is wrong and i dont need god to tell me that.hitler was wrong
now you have just contradicted yourself. I must ask you then, if opinions are the most valid things that humans have, based on what can you say that hitler was wrong. Was he not acting out his own opinion? You have no ground to raise any absolute measure of right or wrong. Again, you are being arbitrary.
How can you derive any sort of objectivity. If we are all "matter in motion," what gives moral highness to one pile of molecules over another? Why is killing wrong? What are metaphysical entities (morality) and how can they be made cogent within an empirical reality? In appealing to things such as goodness, you are simply borrowing from my world view then kicking the proverbial ladder away. Either you have not become epistemologically aware or you just aren't willing to follow it through.
i know what is wrong and what is right because i am a human and i am smart enough to know what it takes to moral and ethical. not all people need some goofy reason to justify being good(like a magical book that randomly tells me too), i am more than a pile of molecules and so are you, it is objective, people do know this but they cant seem to justify it without a made up god, so tey made lots of gods with the same basic ideas of love and peace, but the ambiguity of man also misuses those ideas
@alanaldarocks: Why are you so full of hate? You don't seem to be very well liked on YT based on the comments on your channel. That's OK though, because you can be exactly the way you are, and God still loves you. For the record, I don't "study theology". I read the Bible, and that is different.
Huckabee is riding the religious train, just like Bush did. I remember my church endorsed Bush because he was the only one that would supposedly support God. So he started a war, invaded our privacy, and increased entitlements. God doesn't control us like puppets or favor one over the other, and the founding fathers didn't want the government doing that either. The only candidate that is willing to give us freewill just like God does is RON PAUL. CHHRISTIANS FOR RON PAUL TO RESTORE FREEDOM!
I do not think Mike Huckabee should act like a man of God and still back the war in Iraq. Thou shall not kill! Jesus wouldn't, why would a man of God want to stay and fight a war!
In Thursday night's Repub debate, Huckabee, ONCE AGAIN, got all giddy when talking about WAR and DEATH! Remember the "gates of hell" comment? I've never seen a politician, let alone a "Christian", ever get so excited talking about killing people! There is something very very wrong with Mike Huckabee!
Learn about Presidential Candidate Mike Gravel by watching the short series
"Tribute to Mike Gravel: The Modern Day Thomas Paine".
/watch?v=arS8nFguDsU
Produced by overmind25, who was not given any money from special interests groups
The series informs you what Gravel stands for and what he intends to do. There's not a lot of deception or talking around subjects. Gravel says what he believes is important for the country. It is very substantial
Mike Huckabee is a Christian? He supports putting AIDS patients into quarantine. I don't remember Jesus saying, "Get out of here, your dirty hobos!" to the lepers
It took me less than 5 minutes of research to figure not only is he immoral and not of integrity, but instead, the guy has made a career out of lying, cheating, and stealing to get ahead and personal games. To say he is a Christian, belittles all of your religion. Not onyl that, he should be doing about 4,000 yrs in prison right now from all the fraud he's done.
I'm not a Christian, but not of any other religion. I just have deep faith in god, as god and trust that god will guide me. Pretty simple. Mike though, oh my oh my. He was just speaking about not abusing elderly. What did he do as gov? He taxed elderly $5.25 per day per bed. Um, isn't that victimizing the elderly? In my eyes, that is a horrible sin on another person. Taxing $150+ per month of their ssi checks for a bed.
Ummm, hello!! We just lost the caucus!! All my economic politically ignorant Christian friends have just voted for the wolf in sheep's clothing!!!! Paul needs to MAKE HIS RELIGIOUS BELIEFS OUT IN THE OPEN!!! GOD HELP US ALLL!!!
It's despicable, isn't it? Makes me ashamed to call myself an Evangelical Christian. Huckabee is ANOTHER GWBUSH people! He's gonna get the Christian vote, then do VERY UN-CHRISTIAN-like things once he gets elected! WAKE UP! Just keep spreading the message in this video, and my other video "Mike Huckabee The Fabulist" God help us all, for sure!
Why does the mainstream media support ANYONE, really?!! Why can't they just report on ALL of the candidates, unbiasedly, which would fulfill their job requirements? Let the people decide who is best for America. But the media abuses it's power, by interjecting it's own opinions. And this abuse has become so standard these days, that nobody even questions it any more. Sheesh!
I believe Mike on this one, but the fact is that he will be bad for our country anyway. Why do we keep voting for the "best of the worst". Ron Paul is a step above them all.
What part do you believe? The part where Mike thinks that the well light cross doesn't look like a cross, but looks like light bookshelf instead (unless he was thinking cheeseburger at the time, in which case he was really thinking cheeseburger and not well light shelf). Is that the part? ha ha
Amazing! I just found this out and need to share it with all the Christians out there who think they really know Mike Huckabee. ***MIKE IS NOT AN ORDAINED MINISTER*** Google: "Huckabee's theology degree" NOW DO YOU SEE WHY MIKE CANNOT BE TRUSTED? HE LIES!
That depends on your definition of "religious". If your talking about false religions, those that don't claim to have Jesus Christ as deity, then you may have a point. If you're talking blind faith, then you're probably right as well. But knowing God is from the mind, and understanding God is more important than any book except the Bible, because then you have unlimited understanding, no bounds. If you think you're stupid for not understanding this, you may be right.
Thank you so much for this work my dear brother in Christ as a Christian I would never give my vote to any one but the Dr. Ron Paul it is my moral duty to tell you this and may God bless you and keep you and protect you and your entire family and friends and Dr. Paul and out troops. We love you America! Thanks for telling the TRUTH Love melioped Romans 1:16
Mike Huckabee is a complete turn off!! He's a pastor and he continually lies!!
THe way he moves his eyes and head around when he's speaking looks like he's trying too hard! and that right there discredits him.. So I guess I'll have to donate to Ron Paul
I agree with you that Mike is dishonest, but I look at how his words line up with his actions, and that's the proof that I need. Just because someone may not be comfortable speaking in front of people, and moves their eyes/head around, doesn't necessarily indicate they are lying.
If Jesus walked the earth today, do you think He would remain silent about Mike using His name in an ad, and would He also allow Mike to deny that the image looks like a cross?? WWJD?
Why sound the alarm on one Christian candidate over another? Do I receive money? No, not from anyone. Do I have a need to be "right" about something? No! In the same vein as witnessing to the unsaved, God is compelling me to bring Mike's ways into the light, from a Biblical perspective, and I do this to glorify God, not myself nor Ron Paul.
Don't Christians have better things to do than fight over which candidate is better? We are supposed to be on God's side- We're disciples of Christ, not of Ron Paul, or Mike Huckabee! As Christians, we should be prayerfully considering our choices. Not fighting.
Thank you, and I agree with EVERYTHING you just said. However, I see too many Christians embracing MH as the "Christian Candidate" without researching Mike's politics, past, or how Mike is currently manipulating Christians for his own gain. Prayer doesn't even come into play with many who blindly support Mike. We ALL have a duty as Christians to rebuke error, but not judge. When there is a charlatan amongst us, that person needs to be exposed.
You need to check on your own integrity- it's not honest to place your video on the Huckabee website and post it like it comes from a Huckabee supporter- It's so Demoncratic of you- it's usually the far left liberals who do these things- and it's a sign of desperation.Ron Paul stands no chance of being nominated, so you ought to just give it up, and go take the plank out of your own eye, instead of looking for a speck in Mike Huckabee's eye. Really.
1) The video is/was placed on YouTube, not a Huckabee website. If another website has liked/embedded it, I cannot control that.
2) The only desperation I have is trying to convince the sheep not to go down the path of slaughter, AGAIN, with a dishonest candidate.
3) I am serving God by rebuking MH, for MH is trying to sell Christianity for his own gain, yet MH will not evangelize the public when it becomes uncomfortable for himself.
I did a little research and found you are correct, zarralinda. My video was linked to by the Huckabee 08 campaign site. Pretty funny/stupid of them to do this (it's removed now). Makes me think that I'm giving Mike and his campaign more credit than they deserve.
Haha! Guy in the video you are funny! How about Mike just being honest about what was shot in the clip! Wouldn't his "integrity" be a farse if he claimed they had planned the "cross shot" when they had not. And how spooky spiritual do you have to be to say, "It was a sign from God!" they didn't plan the cross shot - God put it there. HAHA!
I'm Mike Huckabee and God approved this Christmas add!!
"How about Mike just being honest about what was shot in the clip!"
This is the WHOLE POINT. Just admit that the reflection off the bookshelf looks like a cross, and then go on. The fact that Mike won't admit this has a much larger, deeper meaning. I don't want 4 more years of Bush lies and deceit, and Mike appears to be more of the same.
Jesus said: "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you", and "IT WAS AN EYE FOR AN EYE". Jesus' Father said: "THOU SHALL NOT KILL", and "Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord". Huckabee says: "Go in with both feet stomping and overwhelming force". Christians might want to start serving the Savior Jesus and His Father instead of greedy warmonger politicians like Huckabee and Bush who work for the Foreign Banksters that make piles of interest off the loans given to the US military.
I think Dr. Paul would be very uncomfortable promoting himself as 'the anointed one'in same shameless way as Huckabee. Seems better to simply post the TRUTH about Huckabee so people continue looking for better candidate.
Good analysis. Huckabee is stuck no matter what he does though because he has already tried to pass himself off as both a Christian candidate and republican candidate. Whether in politics or Christian faith you cannot serve two masters. As as presidential candidate he should be serving the U.S. Constitution. As a man of faith, he should be serving God. Ron Paul already has this vital distinction worked out.
Mike Huckabee recently said he could support any of the other Republican Presidential contenders (including Rudy Giuliani), except Ron Paul. That means, Mike Huckabee would rather support a pro-abortion, pro-gay marriage, pro-gun control liberal such as Giuliani than support the pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, pro-Second Amendment candidacy of Ron Paul. Why is that?
Why don't you let the Dr. Paul help...he is good Christian as well. Why Mike is stilling his ideas of the CONSTITUTION? Bible says Matt.7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Dr. Paul is 50 years married with one lady and over 30 years loyal servant to you check his history records please I am Christian and would only vote for the HONEST man Ron Paul who is not the sheep in the wolf clothing like Mike is.
I didn't even notice the bookshelf "cross" until everyone and their mother tried pointing that out as some backdoor psychological tactic or some shit. My first impression of the ad was, "Here we go again with the lame Christmas ads. It's Huckabee. Who cares?" I didn't even notice the shelf. It's irrelevant. Plus, it's not even a cross. The shelf is split right down the middle. The cross isn't split directly down the middle.
You are right about "Christians" giving Christianity a bad name. However, it is a historical fact that Jesus lived. Any academic atheist can tell you that. It's like saying that there was no Alexander the Great, no Caesar...
Now, the next thing to consider is: that not only did Jesus (Yeshua, really) live, but he died because he loves you, and rose again. You should read about your name sake Nicodemus in the Gospel of John, chapter 3. I have written these things to encourage you.
Jesus is mentioned in non-biblical texts; Josephus, a secular historian of that era mentions Him.You need to educate yourself. The liberal media OF COURSE is going to try to refute His existence. He is their worst enemy, because they are liars and will be judged by Him.
You will be judged by Jesus as well, so you ought to get it straight. He is the creator of all things, and died on the cross to pay for our sins. It's a gift you can except or refuse: accept it, and spend eternity in paradise with God. Refuse it, and spend eternity in hell. He died to save you. It's YOUR CHOICE.
Sounds like you are a reasonable, smart person. Too bad you are listening to the media. They haven't a thing to say that is "gospel" if you know what I mean. Check it out on your own. You could read "The Case for Christ". It is written by a lawyer who was an atheist and was so sick of the "Jesus lie" that he decided to devote his life fulltime to write a book proving that the Story was a fraud. You can guess what his conclusion ultimately was. Thanks for the Holiday greetings. The best to you.
AMEN...I've heard more than one story of people setting out to disprove the Bible. They become BELIEVERS! For those serious about the word given us, please see my slideshow, very relevant to the times. Should show up if you click on my user name.
The video was clearly professionally produced. The lighting on the bookshelf, that made the front edges look like a glowing cross, is a background distraction that no professional would have overlooked or failed to correct if the intention was to keep the viewer focused on Mike Huckabee and his message.
Such a bright visual distraction in the background was either professional incompetence or intentional.
I've been a believer in Jesus Christ since I was a young child... and I will be voting for Dr. Ron Paul in 2008, in the primary and in November, no matter what.
And, by the way, the EVIDENCE that Mike KNEW that the cross was there is right in the video! Just look at how the video pans from left, to right, then the "cross" stops right in back of Mike's head (hidden). The pan was done to draw attention to the "cross". The pan stops when the "cross" is behind Mike. The message of this "cross", subliminally, is that "Jesus is behind Mike Huckabee".
Mike talked about Christ and Christmas, and that is fine and good. But Mike sidestepped Jesus when the media questions became inconvenient regarding the "floating cross". All Mike should have done was say, "Well ya know, I guess it does look like a cross, whatdayaknow". End of story. But Mike will not state the obvious that everyone else sees. This is where his honesty comes into play.
When I first saw the ad, I just thought there was a window or something behind him. I kind of laughed when I saw the Drudge Report implying that it was a 'floating cross', but I'm astonished that so many people have found this ad to be controversial. If he intended it to look like a cross he would have admitted it, but since it is just a white bookshelf, it would have been wrong for him to lie and say it was really a cross.
Mike Huckabee didn't deny Christ by being honest. In fact, he is the only candidate with the courage to openly state that celebrating Christ's birth is what Christmas is all about!
"but since it is just a white bookshelf, it would have been wrong for him to lie and say it was really a cross." This is not the point. The point is, he won't admit to it EVEN LOOKING LIKE A CROSS! What does it look like to Mike? A Pizza? A cheeseburger? When it is lit up like that, doesn't it look like a cross Mike? Mike won't answer, then starts joking about the Beetles. Is this what you want? More George Bush?
Look at the map on HSLDA's website. Why have homeschool regulations INCREASED under Huckabee? Compare Arkansas homeschool regulations with that of Texas. Ron Paul's state is one of best states to homeschool in.
Sorry, God won't make me pay, but Mike Huckabee will. If elected, he will raise my taxes! Ron Paul has NEVER voted to raise taxes! And if Huck was such a "man of God" as you say, why isn't this good man still a pastor? Perhaps he found that he could live high on the hog in the Governor's Mansion? Shall I recite what the public had to pay for, for his personal use? Wake up.
Why should he consider a bookshelf a cross? And why should he discuss Jesus in relation to a bookshelf? I suppose you'd prefer Romney, who believes that Jesus' death does not fully pay for the sins of believers. Now you are rebuked.
Anybody with any sense can see that the bookshelf, unintentional or not (and I believe intentional because of camera panning) should admit that it at least "looks like a cross". Not very difficult to admit. Mormonism is not Christian. Actually, I support Dr. Ron Paul, the only man with INTEGRITY, and he's a Christian besides (Google Ron Paul Statement of Faith). Rebuked, right back at ya sister! ; )
Frankly I didnt even see it as a bookshelf until I saw his rebuttal. It clearly looked like a cross to me. You are really talking symantics here.
Also, Mike Huckabee gave an impression that placing a cross would have been wrong. Which shows lack of courage. Why be apologetic or ridicule the idea that it is cross.
Excellent points. I always saw it as a cross as well, had to look hard to see it was an illuminated bookshelf.
Mike not only showed a lack of courage, but I think a lack of conviction as well. This has been a pattern with him. Rember the question posed to him during the dabates, on evolution? Sheesh! Throw the guy a softball and he swings, misses, and falls down.
PART 2: When we are talking about politics, we need to understand how it works. The "Christian vote" can be swayed towards Ron Paul. I have swayed my family, who are part of the Christian vote, to Ron Paul after I educated them on what the role of the POTUS (PRESIDENT)ought to be. Not every human is rational, but those who are rational, will be open to the message Ron Paul speaks.
PART 1: WE ALL HAVE DIRT. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. When God says "All men fall short of the glory of God", He means all men fall short of the glory of God. Every male and female has dirt. All the elephants and donkeys have dirt.
Thanks --- will add this to my Paltalk video chat room library "Ron Paul 2008". There is a trail of Huckster lies -- he doesn't have that theology degree either. I hope people don't fall for the christian label and not judge this man for the masquerader he is. Judge righteously (i.e., according to the righteous Word of God). The 9th commandment matters.
Mike Huckabee might seem to offer principled leadership, but Ron Paul's 20-year record leaves no doubt about his integrity.
Maybe Mike didn't intend to exploit Christianity this way - he's a politician, not a cinematographer - but he should acknowledge what we all see there. Doing otherwise insults our intelligence, the religion, and raises questions about his honesty.
He's just a man, and maybe a lot of people are pinning too many hopes on him. Remember, even the Devil can quote scripture.
Go read your Bible. You failed basic Christianity 101. "Judging" is done by God, and God judges the heart. This judging applies to being saved, or not, and this is God's duty alone. I do not judge whether Mike is a Christian or not so you are mistaken. As Christians, we have the duty to **rebuke error**. As iron sharpens iron. I have rebuked Mike for his error. Perfectly Biblical.
Do not Judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Matthew 7:1
Again, there is a difference between "judging" and rebuking. Mike is a minister and much is given to him to not mislead the brethren. Mike played the "Christian card", then he ran away from the truth when it got a little hot.
He agreed that it looked like a cross, but that it wasn't planned. Why make a big deal out of essentially nothing? He only denied that it was planned.
Exactly. I don't have issue with the ad. What I have issue with is how Mike ran from the truth, that he/advisors engineered in the first place! Yes, I am sick of lying, deceit, manipulation, and megalomania in the oval office. My bottom line "Mike is not a man of integrity, and cannot be trusted". Perhaps this is why he destroyed 350K worth of hard drives when stepping down as Governor.
Incorrect. He never admitted that it looked like a cross. This is the key point here. He also said that it wasn't planned, you are correct about this. But the key point is, he never admits that it looks like a cross. He can't. Because then, it opens up all of the questions as to how the image got in there in the first place.
And, by the way, the EVIDENCE that Mike KNEW that the cross was there is right in the video. Just look at how the video pans from left, to right, then the "cross" stops right in back of Mike's head (hidden). They did this to draw attention to the "cross". The message of this "cross", subliminally, is that "Jesus is behind Mike Huckabee".
You are silly. I can tell by looking at it for ten seconds
that it is a book shelf. I can see it can look like a cross. It is a book shelf..

Enoch2 3 years ago
I agree with the man in the video, right up until the end. But to go from there to the claim that 'Huckabee can't be trusted nor is he a man of integrity' is going too far, into condemnation. Peter was, after all, reinstated by Jesus following his repentance. Huckabee could perhaps be stronger in faith but his imperfection does not mean he is not a Christian. We all sin, but as followers of Jesus, we do not practice sinning. Mike Huckabee needs to repent but he is still a true Christian.

Fair enough. But I still contend that he can't be trusted. We just don't agree on that.

so you're looking at it not as denial of his faith principles, but rather manipulation of an opportunity for votes? I think (can't speak for someone else) the video author is going for the former.
lesliejs 4 years ago
I think so too, but having gone to high-school in Arkansas, Christianity was by and large taken for granted. Drink and screw all week-go to Church on sunday. I don't know whether Mike is a believer or not, but I do know that his record shows the contrary to be true. Matt. 7:16 says "you will know them by their fruit" and I'm afraid Huck has given us nothing but thistles and thorn-bushes.
kisstheclowns 4 years ago
Since you ask (and this is a great question), I look at it as Mike not taking a STAND for his faith principles when given a golden opportunity. He should also take ownership in what this video image reveals (picture says a thousand words), not ignore the obvious when the obvious was questioned. It was ALSO manipulation, so I take issue with both aspects.

Formica45 4 years ago
If you're implying that I have low intelligence just because I have faith and knowledge of Biblical truth, then you are of low intelligence for making that assumption. Christians can think for ourselves; we just have something called humility (to God) that prideful people like you don't understand, because you are so full of yourselves. Someday you'll understand, one way or the other.
VitoArc 4 years ago
You have a world view that reduces metaphysical concepts such as the laws of logic and morality into non-objective absurdity. Mine, however, makes these things cogent with reality. I am afraid you don't know enough about theology to make silly assumptions like this. If all things are only proven empirically, then by simply employing the laws of intelligibility, you are refuting the atheist world view.
kisstheclowns 4 years ago
@kisstheclowns... smoke! : )
VitoArc 4 years ago
you don't know shit to make silly little assumptions about how much other people know. your dumbass opinion is valid as his or mine, you are not smarter than anyone else, and anyone who studies theology is a waste of time
alanaldasucks 4 years ago
Thank you for appealing to relativism, you have just proved my point. you say all absolutes are based on arbitrary opinion. What one mind communicates to the other is meaningless. Therefore, you have just thrown logic, morality, language, and mathematics out the window. So now, you have to tell everyone that hitler was right in acting with the whim of the society he was a part of.
kisstheclowns 4 years ago
i do not say all absolutes are based on arbitrary opinion, i said that everyone has their own opinion, what one mind communicates to another is not meaningless, its full of meaning, hitler wasn't right, and you are a dumbass for making broad philosphical assumptions from a very small piece of information
alanaldasucks 4 years ago
I just knew where you were going, so instead of playing your parlor game. I just gave you a chunk to chew on. Sure I may have jumped to conclusions, but there is no way to account for absolutes at all in the atheist world (which i assume is what you have). Since absolutes are rendered meaningless and relative, you don't have any grounds to say that hitler was wrong...other than your arbitrary opinion, which you've already stated as being as invalid as mine.
kisstheclowns 4 years ago
opinions aren't invalid, they are the most valid things humans have.you dont need to create or beleive in a fantasy religion to base objective morals and ethics on, people can be objectively good without beleiving in a god or religion. its a fact that killing is wrong and i dont need god to tell me that.hitler was wrong
alanaldasucks 4 years ago
now you have just contradicted yourself. I must ask you then, if opinions are the most valid things that humans have, based on what can you say that hitler was wrong. Was he not acting out his own opinion? You have no ground to raise any absolute measure of right or wrong. Again, you are being arbitrary.
kisstheclowns 4 years ago
How can you derive any sort of objectivity. If we are all "matter in motion," what gives moral highness to one pile of molecules over another? Why is killing wrong? What are metaphysical entities (morality) and how can they be made cogent within an empirical reality? In appealing to things such as goodness, you are simply borrowing from my world view then kicking the proverbial ladder away. Either you have not become epistemologically aware or you just aren't willing to follow it through.
kisstheclowns 4 years ago
i know what is wrong and what is right because i am a human and i am smart enough to know what it takes to moral and ethical. not all people need some goofy reason to justify being good(like a magical book that randomly tells me too), i am more than a pile of molecules and so are you, it is objective, people do know this but they cant seem to justify it without a made up god, so tey made lots of gods with the same basic ideas of love and peace, but the ambiguity of man also misuses those ideas
alanaldasucks 4 years ago

Don't Christians have better things to do than fight over which candidate is better? We are supposed to be on God's side- We're disciples of Christ, not of Ron Paul, or Mike Huckabee! As Christians, we should be prayerfully considering our choices. Not fighting.
zarralinda 4 years ago
Thank you, and I agree with EVERYTHING you just said. However, I see too many Christians embracing MH as the "Christian Candidate" without researching Mike's politics, past, or how Mike is currently manipulating Christians for his own gain. Prayer doesn't even come into play with many who blindly support Mike. We ALL have a duty as Christians to rebuke error, but not judge. When there is a charlatan amongst us, that person needs to be exposed.
VitoArc 4 years ago
You need to check on your own integrity- it's not honest to place your video on the Huckabee website and post it like it comes from a Huckabee supporter- It's so Demoncratic of you- it's usually the far left liberals who do these things- and it's a sign of desperation.Ron Paul stands no chance of being nominated, so you ought to just give it up, and go take the plank out of your own eye, instead of looking for a speck in Mike Huckabee's eye. Really.
zarralinda 4 years ago
1) The video is/was placed on YouTube, not a Huckabee website. If another website has liked/embedded it, I cannot control that.
2) The only desperation I have is trying to convince the sheep not to go down the path of slaughter, AGAIN, with a dishonest candidate.
3) I am serving God by rebuking MH, for MH is trying to sell Christianity for his own gain, yet MH will not evangelize the public when it becomes uncomfortable for himself.
VitoArc 4 years ago
I did a little research and found you are correct, zarralinda. My video was linked to by the Huckabee 08 campaign site. Pretty funny/stupid of them to do this (it's removed now). Makes me think that I'm giving Mike and his campaign more credit than they deserve.
VitoArc 4 years ago
HAHA!
I'm Mike Huckabee and God approved this Christmas add!!
boomchickawaawaaa 4 years ago
"How about Mike just being honest about what was shot in the clip!"
This is the WHOLE POINT. Just admit that the reflection off the bookshelf looks like a cross, and then go on. The fact that Mike won't admit this has a much larger, deeper meaning. I don't want 4 more years of Bush lies and deceit, and Mike appears to be more of the same.
VitoArc 4 years ago
Jesus said: "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you", and "IT WAS AN EYE FOR AN EYE". Jesus' Father said: "THOU SHALL NOT KILL", and "Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord". Huckabee says: "Go in with both feet stomping and overwhelming force". Christians might want to start serving the Savior Jesus and His Father instead of greedy warmonger politicians like Huckabee and Bush who work for the Foreign Banksters that make piles of interest off the loans given to the US military.

VitoArc 4 years ago
Mike talked about Christ and Christmas, and that is fine and good. But Mike sidestepped Jesus when the media questions became inconvenient regarding the "floating cross". All Mike should have done was say, "Well ya know, I guess it does look like a cross, whatdayaknow". End of story. But Mike will not state the obvious that everyone else sees. This is where his honesty comes into play.
VitoArc 4 years ago
When I first saw the ad, I just thought there was a window or something behind him. I kind of laughed when I saw the Drudge Report implying that it was a 'floating cross', but I'm astonished that so many people have found this ad to be controversial. If he intended it to look like a cross he would have admitted it, but since it is just a white bookshelf, it would have been wrong for him to lie and say it was really a cross.

Frankly I didnt even see it as a bookshelf until I saw his rebuttal. It clearly looked like a cross to me. You are really talking symantics here.
Also, Mike Huckabee gave an impression that placing a cross would have been wrong. Which shows lack of courage. Why be apologetic or ridicule the idea that it is cross.
rk401 4 years ago
Excellent points. I always saw it as a cross as well, had to look hard to see it was an illuminated bookshelf.
Mike not only showed a lack of courage, but I think a lack of conviction as well. This has been a pattern with him. Rember the question posed to him during the dabates, on evolution? Sheesh! Throw the guy a softball and he swings, misses, and falls down.

An intelligent Christian! How refreshing! I agree with what you are saying Ron Paul 2008!!

There are some of us out there, you included my friend! Merry Christmas!

What REALLY matters is that Huckabee used a publicity stunt to get tons of free press and you all fell for it.
FOOLS!

It would be foolish to allow this pastor turned politician to go unchecked when he is trying to manipulate the public.

He agreed that it looked like a cross, but that it wasn't planned. Why make a big deal out of essentially nothing? He only denied that it was planned.

Do you consider a liar to be a man of G-d?
There was nothing wrong with the ad.
But is there is something wrong with lying.
Is this Mike Huckabees first lie?
Not hardly. He has lied many times. And whether or not he is forgiven is between him and his creator.
But haven't we had enough liars in the oval office lately?
