  • very good music for the bad and good in a men's life

    ircon

  • Eagles also!

  • THIS WAS REALLY AWESOME ...NICE SONG..THANK YOU CROSBY, STILL AND NASH..

  • cool!

  • What? They found Crosby, Nash, and stills in 1977? Man, it was liked they disappeared. WOW!

  • can't believe there's 12 people who dislike this song????

  • That's what music is!..

  • Thanks so much 4 providing this, truly a forgotten 70's gem but ALWAYS a C,S,N + (sometimes) Y classic. I have "heard" that Grahm did indeed write it in an airport to win a bet, it had a more darker underlying viewpoint of a guy who dies in a plane crash. "Traveling at twice the speed of sound it's easy to get burned..." Makes you think.

  • Saw on "Biography" that Graham Nash penned this song as a challenge, while waiting for his flight. genius, they are all awesome!

  • In April saw Crosby and Nash in Concord, NH and they did this song. Such a beautiful song and to hear two legends perform it again with such soul! You can purchase the digital download at their website.

  • Grande band !!!!!! DREAM MUSIC !!!!!

  • Awesome !

  • Hearing the mp3 is so much better, than this crappy 240p video. Such a great song.

  • Stern said Nash wrote this song in 30 minutes right before catching a plane. He

won a bet from his friend - the friend didn't think he could right a song that fast.

    Not so bad, huh ?

  • Heard it on Howard Stern thumbs up

  • This truly is a beautiful performance of this song by this incredible band. Probably the best live performance anybody has been able to record and then upload onto YouTube. Thank you, deadhead1065, for uploading this podcast so that all of us CSN&Y fans can enjoy the music as it was meant to be played & sung.

  • Astonishingly brilliant

  • Sweet Jesus....we'll NEVER hear anything this fabulous AGAIN!!!!! :(

  • DR.DJDEB SAYS MUSIC HEALS.

  • beautiful performance. Cathedral is one of my fave songs of CSN...Great!

  • very nice

  • my favourite American group

  • As good version as in the record.

  • 9 retards

  • What Can I say Classic...<3

  • what was the name of the concert please.

  • Supergroups come and go, CSN remains eternal. Nothing else even comes close to the amazing harmony these masters of their craft present.

  • Absolutely the best harmony out there, timeless music from these guys.

  • Absolutely the best harmony out there, timeless music from these guys.

  • Muito agradável ouvir

  • I love the line "She helps me with my suitcase and stands before my eyes driving me to the airport and to the friendly skies" brilliant lyrics conveying images and emotion.

  • awesome song great harmony yes yes yes

  • great harmony.... thanks for postinc.. lots of memories... good job....

  • awesome song. great harmony!

  • I actually heard Graham Nash tell the story of this song. It was on the "Rockline" show. Seems that he was buying some pot before he was going to head out of town on a airplane. His dealer said something like "OK Mr. Bigshot, since you have a few minutes to burn why don't we see if you can write a song during that time". And so he did.

  • @Cartrivision1 A few minutes to Burn ......Nice.

  • This kind of music has always helped me to retain my past as well as directing me forward to the future. My heart melts to hear their melodies...

  • This is the guitar I am looking for the one Stephen Stills is playing(my blond and black as I call it) I love the sweet face Stephen has while he plays this song. He is at his most handsome at this stage in his life. This is my favorite DVD as well I will wear it out if I am not careful Love You Stephen

  • Solid in every respect from 3 people who have been pure music and sadly ego for so long

  • Like an orgasm for the soul.

  • They are great, each in his own right. Put them together and words can't discribe it. The Eagles got back together for the money. These guys get together for the love of music and each other.

  • I heard David Crosby bet Grahm Nash he could not write a song before the plane they were on landed. This was the result and Nash won the bet !@

  • @LUKE82603 I heard a cab driver asked him to write a song on the way to the airport but who really knows

  • ilove his song, back to the old days

  • Just plain out BEAUTIFUL<

  • yes,theses are true artists.wonderful music....

  • THIS is MUSIC!

  • TRAVELING TWICE THE SPEED OF SOUND ITS EASY TO GET BURNED........

  • These guys are ageless!

  • Such an Incredible song from a leganary band and it only has 456,414 views,,WTF

  • Who's singing the high harmony in this...Stephen?

  • @Dukegrievousangel The Croz, actually!

  • @Dukegrievousangel Graham Nash always sings the high part. I'm 100% sure of this. He is the dominant vocal on this song and he is credited with writing it as Crosby says at the end. You can hear his voice when he sings by himself "I had to be alone" "and she was gone" That's why Crosby and Stills got Nash in the first place because they had always heard kudos of his high harmony.

  • @PullSomeTuber *S* Here Nashie sings lead - whenever he does, the Croz will occasionally sings higher than he does. But Graham's voice has the most consistently light, high quality of the three.

  • @NewHopeNashFan It's hard to hear the harmonies. In the studio version, you can hear a higher harmony singing along with Graham's lead. I never really listened to it like that before. Some times here I think I can hear a higher harmony than Graham's lead, but it's hard to hear it. I guess it's occasional like you said.

  • @PullSomeTuber Actually, Stephen sings a bunch of high parts in certain CSN songs (the falsetto in the "Tueeeesday morning" bit in "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" is Stephen, and the falsetto voice singing "I'm flying in Winchester Cathedral" in "Cathedral" is Stephen). The first part of the verse, it sounds like Graham's part is highest, but during the "when the shows were over/going through security" parts, I think Stephen hops up on top of him.

  • tremendous performance. thank you very much.

  • very nice song

  • this always makes me cry.... )-;

  • So beautiful. This made me cry and I just love it to pieces. Brilliant......

  • Stephen has a such a sweet expression on his face when he opens this song. and he smiles so sweetly when David hits his note

  • @damagedangel08 The best part is how all three of them love each other so. Graham is a gentle influence on both David and Stephen.

  • one of their best songs

  • Songs like this are timeless, sadly we know live in a melody free environment with instantly foregettable songs, thank god for these classics.

  • Man, How I have always loved this song!! What a truly awesome band!! I grew up on this band and what an impact thier songs made on my life. This takes me back to my dad blasting this song among others on his backporch speakers in the summertime and me taking in all these songs in my heart and carrying them there forever!! What a time that was back then. Such a magic in the air you cant feel today and that is a shame. Missing those days forever!! I LOVE YOU POP!! RIP!! ♥

  • i think Stephen missed his part on guitar and Crosby fills in with acoustic ...funny!!

  • @magnJas LOL WOODSTICK!!!

  • always loved this song..Great job by CSN..

  • Simply, they were in Woodstick !

  • @ismaelleguia Stephen's voice on the movie soundtrack is the last voice you hear.

  • Really nice, thanks for posting. Think I will watch again.

  • My favorite trio :)

  • a 60 ans des larmes dans mes yeux lorsque j'écoute cette magnifique chanson

  • one of my all time favorite tunes. CSN...sooo talented.

  • watched them @ tanglewood they sounded great

  • i miss the crosby, stills & nash. is there a cathedral video?

  • Thanks sooo much for putting these on youtube

  • One day like me they will all be gone, but they will live on through this and all the rest.

    spud custard

  • Respond to this video...

man this is a great song time to relax ,great song csn

  • What a times, plenty of beauty, we all were harmony lovers, flowing notes and sounds.. This music have objective beauty , definitively !! Long life to Crosby, Stills & Nash !

  • I´ve seen CSN in july 2010 in munic, They played 2,5 houers and we all could see music is live for the guys and we all could feel the magic of these wonderful and fantastic music. I love CSN a long time ago.

  • Wonderful, magical.

  • I just checked out them singing Helplessly Hoping. Same concert. It says the date was 1991. Pretty good guess. One of my all time favorite groups.

  • What year was this? it has a date of 2007 but that must have been when it was posted. Anybody know? I'd guess the mid 90's

  • i swear i would stand listening this song without getting hungry with a smile in my face for the whole month.. :-) i heard this song when i was barely 7 years old and already loved it at that instant.

  • Have never heard any group that can duplicate their harmonies, just unbelieveable the way their voices blend. And that was live. True Artist !!!!!!!!!

  • @Bill5298 check out Fleet Foxes fans of CSN&Y will dig

  • @Bill5298 Not to take anything away from CSN because their harmonies kick ass... but I would like to say that the Eagles are very comparable. Just saying, there is another group out there that can harmonize as well. That being said, no one else can come close. I really miss the days of great music. Although I enjoy listening to today's music, it just doesn't compare to the music of yesterday...

  • @Bill5298 The Hollies!

  • @Bill5298 Definitely can't duplicate CSN harmony. However, there were quite a few bands that had impeccable harmony from the 60's and 70's: Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Mamas and Papas to name a few. What a fantastic time period for music and enlightenment.

  • @Bill5298 Perhaps you may have heard of The Eagles...no offense to Crosby,Stills and Nash

  • Crosby breaking it down on the acoustic. I love these guys.

  • Gorgeous! An all-time Favourite of mine!

  • lovely harmonies - was played at my dads funeral......cant listen to it without welling up!!!

  • What's this song about? flying on the Concorde?

  • Oh Sissy-i can't believe you are gone-we were going to grow old together-be at peace and in no more pain my sweet angel sister-I will forever remember your contagious smile-I miss you SOOOOOOOO-your only sister and sibling-Butch(to you)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

  • Seeking a billion People for Peace!

How about you and a friend?

  • She finally looked at me in love,

    And she was gone.

  • wow... Crosby actually looks sober -- never saw that before!

  • if they only made music like this today!!....

  • My fav CSN song. Neat story from Ronnie Wood's book- The Stones and CSN were sharing a studio in the 70's and Keith found out Stills picked up one of his guitars while Keith wasn't there. Keith made a sign and put it up in the studio reading "No Stephen Stills Allowed." Ronnie Wood asked him why he hated Stills so much and Keith replied "Cuz he doesn't do drugs right!"

  • @dannyd1572 WHAT? HE did not do as much as David and David is seen as a sympathy figure. Stephen had his demons and conquered them.

  • I think this is my new favourite song of CSN... along with helplessly hoping

  • just freakn beautiful!!!

  • simply celestial

  • whenever i heard this song.......it reminds me of my lost good friend back in the day....a very talented electric bass guitar player...he passed away..god rest his soul....

  • CSN and CCR make me spend all my money to buy buy telecaster !

  • yep !!!!!!!!!!

  • WOW! I'm left speechless...wow! Has to be one of THE BEST performances of this CSN staple that I have EVER seen!

  • wow...really its hard to grasp the right word to describe this cut..so fantastic...they simply stop my innerself clock..

  • thats blending at its best...live....

  • love C,S, & N. Takes me back to happier days!

  • awesome!!!

  • I LOVE watching this video....no one does harmony like these three...but to see them all together again, as tight as their harmonies, having so much fun, showing each other so much respect and genuine affection...the bonding & healing power of music personified.

  • @mnnorthcountrygirl1 Beautifully expressed!

  • wow...harmonies are perfect

  • Nice to see Crosby doing some nice up front guitar work I love this!

  • . . . for Irena- just beautiful. . .

  • VERY PRETTY! ♪ ♪

  • I love Crosby, Stills and Nash. The harmony and guitar. Incredible.

  • I love Stephen Still's tone ! Amazing guitarist !

  • This trio is dynamic. One bounces off the other... great guitar and harmony.

  • Wonderful

  • mi piace, vorrei sapere cosa dice il testo, chi mi aiuta?grazie

  • Classic Americana to warm the heart

  • these guys are so in sync and comfortable playing 2gether, they throw their own little licks in and the other members just look at each other with joy and amazement. Look at Stills and Nash's face between 1:00 and 1:08 laughing at Crosby's little lick. Someone bet Nash that he could not right a song b4 a flight landed. This was the result..!!!

  • Hit #5 AC, #7 pop in Billboard. deadhead, did it chart in your country? God bless!

  • Not sure who, but someone bet Nash he could not write a song before the plane they were on landed. THIS WAS THE RESULT !!!

  • Nash wrote this song, and it had nothing to do with hiding a "stash" at the airport.

The lady in the lyric is Joni Mitchell.

  • @bookkeeper57 At the time Graham wrote this song, he had met, fallen in love with and married a wonderful young lady named Susan Sennett. They are incredibly happy together to this day, and have three children as cool as they are.

  • @NewHopeNashFan Didn't know that. Before or after he took US citizenship?

I would not give Nash a deadline for writing a song, and bet he could not do it.

  • Steven Stills and I attended Plant High inTampa.

  • @TheDtPest dude, that's awesome and I am not trying to be a smart ass either. I love CSN

  • Beautiful song not to be forgotten! You get older you get better, as good wine does.

  • @angelita1963 Think you mean "better as you get older" but I agree with you.

  • OMFG takes me to a better place thank you!

  • I could not love them any more.

  • heartwrenching...not fair

  • superb

  • this is song, this is love

  • They really seem to be praising Crosby on this song, what is up with that, anyone know ?

  • Looks to me like they probably had some inside joke as to David playing that little fill

  • Yes,it must be ,cause I just don't get it

  • Crosby's girlfriend was unwhittingly holding his "Stash" at the Airport? He and the band had to watch and move on? True Story. Yikes? :(

  • Crosby's girlfriend was unwhittingly holding his "stash"? She was "busted". They could do little more than watch? it is now legend?

  • I love their interactions.

  • CSN FOREVER

  • what a fantastic sound and a beautiful song

  • LOVE it

  • csn beautiful music

  • having so uch joy and giving so much joy with their beautiful music.

  • This song pops in my head every time I'm on a plane and it's about to take off.

  • One of the best trios ever , beautiful song, thanks for this lovely theme...

  • yes, I like that moment too

  • I love the faces Stephen makes on this video and how he smiles at David when he makes a good note I love the way he laughs here beautiful

  • This song reminds me of saying goodbye to my lovely girlfriend Barbara at Logan Airport and heading to the 101st ABD DIV.

  • What ,Logan UTAH

  • I love the look on Stephen,s face when he plays the opening bridge he makes a cute little face that makes me melt. I have this Dvd and I just might wear it out it is so special.

  • Those were the best days in high school. I saw them in concert at MSG 1977 too. Great memories and the best times of my life.

  • It's so beautiful! They made music for eternity It's not The Beatles, it's CSN!

  • absolutely beautiful.....thank you for making me so happy!!! :)

  • Great 1976 song from this beloved trio!

  • A great song, a great band, good voices

  • Good stuff. Thanks for posting it.
