I have an xs power stainless catback on my hcr32. Second owner, too. Apparently has about 40,000 kilometers on it now, no cracks yet :) Can't complain I got it for free. It's 3.5", no resonators and the muffler doesn't do much muffling :-P
Im here to tell ya that XS Power is cheap as F$*K. Their crap is made outta beer cans and sand from their vaginas. I can count the number of times i hacked up their stuff and made new for people around here. But if it still works, more power to ya. Sounds good.
s13 black and red tops have 205hp and 203lb ft torque, s14 "notchback" blacktop only have 220hp and 205lb ft torque, then the s15 notchbacks have about 250hp 205lb ft torque. this originally factory hp ratings, with stock 7psi, exhaust, intake, etc. at the crank.
umm well i think your missing a letter b/c the sr20de is what they put in 200sx the fwd old sentras sr20det is what comes in silvias it is a turboed version of the sr20de in the 200sx and it makes more power than a ka24de so that is the difference
ka24de came stock with the 240sx. SR20DET came stock with the Silvia. Most 240 drivers do a SR20 swap because its got alot more HP and its pretty much a drifting engine.
in the interest of not spreading mis information onto the internet.
the 94-98 180sx offered a blacktop SR20 engine. it did not have VTC like the S14 blacktop or "notchtop".
my engine actually is a redtop motor but with a black valve cover.
the blacktop 180sx can be identified various ways, but most notably the FAT o2 sensor OR the FINS in the front of the head. there are other differences but they escape me.
please don't spread mis-information. why the hell would you say 14. how would you know if i'm running boost control or not? fucking JDM fanboy wannabe.
the wastegate is connected directly connected to a nipple on the IC piping. stock SR20 boost with the OE boost solenoid is ~11 iirc. with my WG directly connected to the IC piping, i believe it's around 7psi, but i've yet to connect my boost gauge.
was your timing chain loose?

It's not a 'drifting' engine, it's just a better engine.

1994+ S13 engines were blacktops, different than the S14/S15 Blacktop
DJTrisma 2 years ago 2
ye i know. When people refer to the "blacktop", they are refering to the S14+ motor with VCT.
Like i said....this is a fake blacktop. Whats the difference between this and the RED S13 motor??
marek0086 2 years ago
Yeah theyre almost identical to the Red Top, very minor differences if any

Major difference is the black tops run a ball bearing T28 garret and the reds run a T25 Bush bearing. It does make a considerable difference.
tomkkkkk 2 years ago
more reliable turbo, same hp out of the s13 red and black tops though, with a boost controller thats where the difference comes in.
mmmurmomspie 2 years ago
there is a small hp difference.
maybe read up on your own. you obviously need to know your shit if your going to beak other peoples rides.
