i love how he doesn't rely too much on the pedal to give the piece its character. it's rather refreshing. love how he plays around with the tempo too. one of my favourite recordings of this piece. (:

@uhartchristian Thankyou for all your recent comments on Ferber's playing. It is strange that a sensitive, intelligent musician of Ferber's class should have become almost completely forgotten. I am so glad that these videos are bringing his artistry to a younger generation.

This is one of Albert Ferber's loveliest recordings and is one of the most beautiful made by any pianist. Right up there with the kind of enchantment given by Horowitz or Cherkassky. Sincere thanks for posting it.
